    Falafel platter
    Abbe K.

The falafel from these guys is dry and tasteless. They are machine formed and cooked in a machine that looks like a pod coffee maker. Pita was surprisingly dry and hard given the stand had just opened. Lettuce and tomato are fine and hot sauce is not for meek or mild. Fine service at Yankee Stadium, but I'm sticking with a hot dog.

I just got a chicken platter. It looks like it's been sitting around all day. Ice berg lettuce, terrible. However the worst thing is they wanted to charge me for a packet of hot sauce. An actual ketchup size packet. And to think I actually left a tip.

    White Sauce

I've been eating Halal Guys for a decade. When the street cart price was $6. I just paid $15.00 for a platter and the white sauce is rancid. It separated before I got home to eat the platter and tastes awful.

I'll leave an honest review, I got to this location at 11:32pm, at 5/10/25 I have receipt, they had tray full of meat, and instead they took the previous empty tray, scraped a couple pieces of meat and gave it to us. There was LITERALLY 4-5 tiny piece of meat in the whole platter. And the dude that was making the platter is absolutely one of the rudest I've met in NY, I been here for 12 years. Real talk if ur reading this review these guys have gotten famous and they are banking off of the fame. Take ur business somewhere else instead of standing on line for shitty service and shitty meat portions. I promise you, you'll have a better experience.

This place was pretty disappointing. Location rides of the Halal Guys name and the only thing really up to par with the 53rd MoMa location are their pre-packaged sauces. The food here really reminds me of those knock-off trucks on 53rd hoping people accidently think those are the original cart or if the original cart's line is too long. The Good: Portion sizes were okay, a bit light. It's not packed to the top like days of old, but I haven't been to the 53rd spot in years, so maybe supply chains made them all like this? Their sauces are still legit. The Bad: The food quality here is just not it. You would also expect a restaurant would be better equipped then a street cart, but I guess it really opens your eyes to how important chefs are. These watered down expansion locations have no heart and are just sad imitations. The meats: very light on the meat. Meats are hidden underneath the field of lettuce. Think overall I'm being a little harsher than usual but I love Halal Guys. This place is named The Halal Guys, has their sauces, and their napkin/bags are labeled The Halal Guys; that's pretty much it. If you gave me a blind test of a knockoff 53rd street halal food, this, and 53rd Halal Guys, I'd probably say you gave me two knock offs. Noted, I understand Halal food isn't exclusive to Halal Guys, but carts that are literally on 53rd across of The Halal Guys named things like "The Halal Bros" are knockoffs in my books. Summary: This place is pretty much riding on its name brand to charge $13 in New Jersey for maybe half the meat of Chiptole. Horrible representor of The Halal Guys or Halal Food in general. If you average the reviews outside of the Yelp Elite opening event the place would probably be a whole star lower. Could find better halal food locally for 60-75% of the price.

Halal Guys always brings me back to the long lines stretching half a block down 53rd Street ,As most Midtowners know, the hordes who gather day and night waiting for the Halal Guys, a chicken, lamb and rice cart that's become perhaps the city's most famous open-air dining destination and Now located in my new neighborhood of Fort Lee as well as around the county. Congrats guys to spreading your love !!! Still serving up the best combo platter with the highly addictive white sauce and it's dangerous cousin the HOT sweet nightmare. You can't go wrong here as they cater to many eaters with falafel, chicken , and beef options. All clean options served with rice or salad or both. Definitely come and visit and show your love for some NYC history now serving over the river in Fort Lee. Cheers

Bottom line, food is good. Brings you back close enough to the experiences of eating street food in NYC. If you miss the nostalgic moments of standing on the street & gulping down a delicious plate of chicken over rice, here you go. Tried beef gyro, falafel & of course the chicken over rice plattee. Platter is served with lettuce, tomatoes & yellow rice with chicken over rice. The signatire white rice & spicy hot sauce always makes things better.

    Fountain soda machine is dirty!
    Linda M.

I cant even explain how disgusting this is. I got a fountain soda. And I tasted little bits. So I dumped out the cup of soda to find this. They need to clean their fountain soda machine. It makes me question how they handle their food prep.

Good service here, loaded up on the white sauce and hot sauce which I appreciate. The mixed gyro sandwich was pretty good. Platter was filling, but could use a tad more rice. Their side hummus is quite good. I recommend it as a side.

I recall 3am after a night out in the city, trekking out to 6th & 53rd, standing in a long line and eating a hot plate of chicken and rice in the freezing winter. Those days are long gone now but I still get to enjoy the halal guys in the convenience of an in door restaurant. It's not easy taking your food cart and bring it to a true brick and mortar while retaining the consistent quality at a larger scale. For this location at least, it was excellent. Perfect. I enjoyed every bite and chowed down like no tomorrow. If you've never had it, do yourself a favor and give it a go.

    The famous yellow bag!

Fast friendly service! Came here when they opened already and glad to see they have so much business already! The line moved very quickly however. I got one beef platter and one combo platter to go with extra white sauce. They also provided sides like onions, jalapeño, peppers, and olives for you to add which was a super nice touch. We took our platters to go and I'm not sure if they just had an off day or something but didn't think the food tasted as good as the Halal guys in teterboro. It was a bit too salty but yet not as flavorful as the other halal guys. Overall we still enjoyed our meal and would love to come back and try again. Location was convenient and located right next to H Mart in the same shopping center.

It was 5pm on a slow Monday so we were seated right away. The interior is cozy, quiet, and clean. We started with 3 Mixed Appetizers along with their complimentary warm bread. The 3 dips were all solid but nothing out of the ordinary. Good flavor, smooth & creamy texture, and great for sharing. I love ordering dishes like the Mixed Kebab Platter for Two as we get a taste of everything and it's family-style. The presentation was beautiful, the meats were tender, and I like that they paired it with rice, bulgur, and some salad. All the meats were tender and well-seasoned but could've been hotter in temperature. I particularly enjoyed the chicken & lamb adana kebabs. My other minor complaint was the sides were not enough to share and the ratio compared to the meats was off. We definitely could've used more rice with the meats. The staff were super kind & friendly the entire time. Decent try overall!

We got a table right away. The menu had a variety of dishes like appetizers, soups, gyro, kebabs, pasta, pizzas, seafood, wraps and sandwiches. In drinks section, they had the Turkish coffee and tea. We started with their complementary bread, so fluffy and light, we pretty ate the whole thing before any of our dishes came. I ordered my favorite fried liver cubes from the hot apps section, and it was fantastic. It was full of flavor, perfectly sized cubes and properly fried. Tasted so good with the complimentary bread (we requested a second one). For entree we ordered the Mix Grill and Karisik Izgara as it was a perfectly sharable dish for two and we got to try 5 of their kebabs that are lamb shish, ground lamb, chicken shish, ground chicken and grilled meat patties. Both ground kebabs were excellent, full of flavors. The shish and patties were also good. We got the margarita pizza too, but that one was disappointed, seemed like some sauce was just thrown on top of the cheese and wasn't baked long enough. Our server was really friendly. She always stayed on top of things. Our dishes came out in quick time, it was impressive. The 4 Borek were fat, fried to perfection, and their filling of Feta and spinach was hot, melty and super tasty. We love love Fried Liver, and Lulu does it to perfection. The portion was huge, and dressed with red onion and lemon juice, it sang. We decided to split an order of Manti, those delightful tiny lamb dumplings tossed with burnt butter and garlic yogurt -- holy holy. Great modern vibes with ample seating, with tables that work for all group sizes. All of us were here for the first time and we asked if the appetizer sampler would be good fit and we're so glad we ordered it! It's a little bit of everything with plenty to go around (in fact, we didn't even fully finish it). Such a fresh and tasty way to start off the meal. For entrees we all ordered something different ranging from chicken kebabs, schnitzel, beef kebabs, and even the shawarma platter (which is what I ordered). All hits! We were too full at the end but they did have a small dessert menu. Definitely would come back to try something else next time!

4.5 stars Zula Grill…read morehad been on my list for a while, and it had apparently been on my brother's as well. So, when he recently suggested driving a good deal out of the way in order to sample their food for a takeout dinner, I still agreed. As he drove, I called to place our order for a large family gathering, and the woman on the phone did not miss a beat. She captured all of our requested items and customizations, ensuring that our meal arrived as expected. I should note that Zula required pre-payment for large orders to make sure that the food was collected. Agreeing to the lengthy excursion was not without its challenges, namely having to drive back with the heavenly food smells tantalizing us throughout the entire journey. When we arrived back at the house, other folks were still chatting, but I tore into the bag and tried to hand out the meals as quickly as I could in order to then indulge myself. My Chicken Breast Platter included the choice of two side dishes, one pita, and a small cup of tahini. In terms of the poultry, the two breasts were on the smaller size, but were lean, thinly-sliced, well-grilled, and flavorful. For the first side dish, I had the Israeli Salad, which was fresh, bright, and, thankfully, not too oniony. Secondly, the Moroccan carrots were a bit oily, but offered a nice heat and spice level. The fluffy pita was soft, gooey, and melt in your mouth tasty. In terms of the tahini, I opted for the standard variety, rather than the tahini amba with pickled mango. The traditional version was rich, thick, and acted as a great topping for the chicken and the pita. Lastly, I shared some of the large quart of Hummus, which was creamy, well-seasoned, and simply delicious. In fact, someone at the table thought it might have even been the best they had ever had, and I agree that it was certainly close! Everyone adored their menu items from Zula Grill, and we all agreed that we would definitely order from there again.
