Tried Lulu for the first time on Saturday. Excellent experience. It was right before the staff showed up for dinner service, so only a couple of tables were occupied. The menu is simple, but covers everything we love. Server came by with warm, fresh, fluffy seasoned pita and a dish of seasoned olive oil. Great start. Started with Cheese Borek and Fried Liver cubes -- The Borek was the best we have had and we order that anytime we dine Mediterrean. The 4 Borek were fat, fried to perfection, and their filling of Feta and spinach was hot, melty and super tasty. We love love Fried Liver, and Lulu does it to perfection. The portion was huge, and dressed with red onion and lemon juice, it sang. We decided to split an order of Manti, those delightful tiny lamb dumplings tossed with burnt butter and garlic yogurt -- holy holy. We ran some liver around that sauce, and were glad we saved some of the bread to sop everything up. So good. Ordered the Kunefe, as we always do. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the table -- so if you are thinking about it, order it before they take your dinner plates away. The Kunefe was good. We think they forgot to add to the syrup it comes in -- but maybe that's the way they do it. It won't disappoint, but I missed that rosewater sugar syrup we are used to. Different places, different recipes. In all, Lulu did not disappoint and we look forward to visiting again. Go, go go. And tip your servers well. read more

Servers did not come out to us for more than forty minutes. No water no bread until we complained. There were 5 adults and 3 children. We were not offered lunch menu until we requested it. Chicken tenders tasted like old oil. My kabob was $17 and the chicken was not enough. All in all it was terrible service and not worth all the hype. We will not be returning. read more

We came here for lunch. People thought the chicken kebab was done well and the portions were large. There was quite a disconnect with our server about what was considered truly gluten free and I ended with a lot of cross-contaminated food, twice. The lamb was fine. They did apologize and made it right eventually but I will say there needs to be some additional staff training about allergens, specifically cross contact. read more

The food took 45 minutes and we were alone in the restaurant. Only table. A family car in and ordered 20 minutes after us and got their food before. Ordered salmon and veggies with mashed potatoes. The veggies they gave us were potatoes!!! The salmon tasted rubbery - awful. Charged $9 for cranberry juice. There is no consistency in the cooks. Sometimes it's amazing. Other times awful. Ugh. Came to LuLu for a birthday dinner. It's very convenient to the Bergen PAC. The space is simple modern with a low key vibe. We were a group of ten and were pleased with the service. My friends took me here on a whim, I didnt know we were coming here so I didnt have time to research this place prior to. First impressions...super cute vibes, it def gives off Mediterranean vibes. Plus side for me: they had really good hookah. I like entertainment and food in one place. I cant seem to remember what drink I ordered but it had coconut and it was on their drink menu. The other party had an espresso martini and lychee martini and they loved it. What turned me off was that it took a waiter to come to us 30 mins AFTER we got our drinks to order. Service seemed all over the place because we werent assigned one specific waited and we saw at least 6 different waiters which really confused us as to who to ask for help. Throughout the night we had to waive down someone for assistance opposed to someone checking in on us every now and then. I used to work in hospitality so I know what good service should be and this place didnt have it. Now onto to the food. We ordered a sampler of the hummus, yogurt, and white bean and tomato dips w some fresh warm pita. It was such a hit and I couldve just eaten that all night. For the entrees : 2 of us ordered the lamb chops, and another ordered what looked like steak kabobs because they ran out of the actual other steak dish they had. My lamb chop were mediocre, over cooked and not tasty. The salad that came with it was overly acidic and I couldnt eat it nor could the other girl who ordered it. Wayyyyy wayyyy too sour. My husband ordered some chicken wings which he didnt like. The steak kabobs I was told was good and he cleaned off his plate. For dessert we ordered the baklava, I was hoping for it to have a nice crunch. I was disappointed but one of my other guests absolutely loved it...so to each its own. They also had a belly dancer, it was cute and very entertaining. I would try this place again but just for apps, drinks and hookah. read more

i liked the place and the ambience. me and my friend ordered the dips as an app. they gave us a bowl of pita bread but it was a really small bowl and we had 3 dips. we had to keep asking for more pita. they could of gave us a bigger bowl of pita bread so we didn't have to keep asking. also we asked for the hookah with the grapefruit and instead they brought us a regular one which wasn't a big deal but we pointed to that one on the menu. i'm not an expert in hookah but my friend said we should get that one and that wasn't given to us. they had a belly dancer and a dj. both were great entertainment read more

Came on a rainy afternoon, easily got seated as there was hardly any crowd. Were starving and without delay ordered chicken shawarma bowl and chicken wrap. Wanted to love it since we like the Edgewater location but the food was pretty standard and nothing impressive to point out. Let's just say I have had better hummus in a non Mediterranean place!!! We celebrated a birthday here with a large party. There was a prix fixe menu, which made the decision making so much easier. The meat sampler plate and baklava were great and large enough to share between 4 people. I was not much really a fan of the turkish coffee. My family of 10+ was the only party in the main dining area for a while, so that was odd, but we all had a great meal here. Our server was so attentive and kind. We liked everything - the mezze spread, chicken shish kebab, branzino, halloumi, pita, and even the calamari. The only thing we didn't love was the beef kebab because it was a bit tough. The food is amazing but I'm. Or sure why they are so dedicated to tiny tiny portions of everything? I was here w a large group (20 ish people) for a private holiday party, we each got 1 felafel ball. Literally. Not even an offer of a second? One shared meat dish w one little scoop of rice per 4 top. Like, would it have killed you to give us an actual large bowl of rice? Rice costs almost nothing. Tatziki in literally like a tiny cup the size of a shot glass. And just one per 4 people. Every time they brought something it was demolished bc we were hungry and the portions were tiny. I thought I'd go home hungry. Anyway, very cute place and what we did eat was delicious. I think it would benefit them (and you will make more money guys! Everything was delicious. We shared 6 appetizers: baba ganuj, beets and yogurt, halloumi, tiny shrimp, pickles and olives, cheese bourek. Excellent fluffy pita. Bellinis made by our lovely server, Butek. Service was swift and friendly. I can think of no criticism. read more

The food and cocktails were amazing! I would definitely eat here again! However, the only downside was the service. The waiter seemed distracted and pre-occupied despite the restaurant not being crowded or busy (four small tables including us). He forgot to place our orders of coffee, and he forgot to give us a to-go box even though he asked twice if we needed one. He didn't bother giving us a receipt so we can see an itemized version of our orders and total. The food overshadowed the flawed service. Will definitely come back with hopes of getting a different waiter. read more

Went to dinner here with friends who suggested Lulu's. Absolutely amazing on every level! I arrived first and was immediately greeted and seated at a lovely table while I waited. Everyone was so attentive. The service was perfection. If you have the good fortune of having Shamous as your server your evening will be elevated to a whole new and wonderful level. This was about the 5th time here, and it felt like something was missing. the food was good, but not great. Our shared mezze lacked flavor, the textures were slightly over blended and missed the under tone. Our entrees were good, but not great. The sides, mashed potatoes, were warm but not hot and slightly dry. The vegetable accompaniment on two of our entrees were slightly burned and absolutely overdone. The service was very good and our pita basket was refilled without asking. However, he did not check to see if we wanted refills on the drinks, or if we needed anything.
