Our appetizers and the puffy bread that came with it were delicious. Naturally, we were excited for our entrees to arrive. After they did, however, I was not very thrilled. We had to ask twice for our rice we ordered for entrees to be brought out because our server forgot. Fine, that happens. But what really threw me off was when I questioned if the mold in my cheese was normal, the server assured me it was naturally occurring for the flavor. I felt gaslit because I have never had Parmesan with such questionable green growth on it for consumption in any restaurant in my entire life. The server said if it bothered me, he'd bring out fresh shavings with no mold. I have left pictures so you can be the judge of this. Lovely little restaurant with friendly staff and delicious food. From the avocado salad, donor kebabs and Kunefe, the presentations match the pictures in their gallery and were delicious although I'm having the pistachio crusted rice pudding. We came here for Sunday lunch. It seemed to be a new Turkish restaurant, very pretty inside with modern interior, beautiful arts and decors, and a small bar area. We got a table right away. The menu had a variety of dishes like appetizers, soups, gyro, kebabs, pasta, pizzas, seafood, wraps and sandwiches. In drinks section, they had the Turkish coffee and tea. We started with their complementary bread, so fluffy and light, we pretty ate the whole thing before any of our dishes came. I ordered my favorite fried liver cubes from the hot apps section, and it was fantastic. It was full of flavor, perfectly sized cubes and properly fried. Tasted so good with the complimentary bread (we requested a second one). For entree we ordered the Mix Grill and Karisik Izgara as it was a perfectly sharable dish for two and we got to try 5 of their kebabs that are lamb shish, ground lamb, chicken shish, ground chicken and grilled meat patties. Both ground kebabs were excellent, full of flavors. The shish and patties were also good. We got the margarita pizza too, but that one was disappointed, seemed like some sauce was just thrown on top of the cheese and wasn't baked long enough. Our server was really friendly. She always stayed on top of things. Our dishes came out in quick time, it was impressive. Despite the shortcoming of the pizza, which is not usually a Turkish dish, I was thoroughly impressed by the actually Turkish dishes, like liver cubes and kebabs. Attentive and kind service with delicious food! The bread and oil/condiment they serve as complimentary was addicting and perfect to get our appetites started. The bread was chewy and also had some thinner crispier sides to it that made it so addicting. We shared the Greek Salad which was a plentiful serving, with generous blocks of feta cheese and crunchy bites of lettuce, red onion, large cucumber blocks, and of course some Kalamata olives. I got the Lahmacun which is the first time I've had this dish - it was savory and I liked having it with the oil/condiment they served as a starter. I really wanted to love this place because I was hungry and the beauty of the restaurant and the ambiance was quite relaxing and inviting. However, they started off strong with some absolutely delicious warm bread with dipping oil and a strong follow-up with the falafel and hummus. Unfortunately, the rest was quite underwhelming. The most important thing of any great cuisine is the flavor... which this food lacked. However, they didn't make up for it with the overly salty salmon (which barely had trace elements of salmon) and pasta with vodka sauce. By the way, anytime that someone has to put salt in the soup, tells a lot about what comes after.... To wrap it all in a nutshell, I ask that you please use more herbs and spices to produce a lot more flavor. Because the flavor profile that I experienced tonight was very lackluster. For our main meal, we opted for Turkish Meatballs (Kofte Kebab), Chicken Gyro Plate, Lamb Shish Kebab, and Vegi Pizza. Complimentary huge balloon bread (Balon lavaş) started our meal but once it's cooled, it was hard like a cracker. The food was fresh, well-executed with a unique blend of traditional and contemporary flavors, and delicious. Every dish we tried and tasted had been cooked with the utmost care, authentic, and the presentation was amazing. Its been on my list, i wanted to love this, but maybe it's just not for me. But it was also pretty pricey or I got overcharged.. Well first we walk in at like 5pm and there was only one couple in there. The hostess asked if we have reservation which we didn't and at first seemed like a problem, so she told us to sit at the front table in front of the door. It's fine but then more patrons come through the next hour with the same question but they get seated in booths with no issues. It's fine. Asked the waiter what to try since it's our first time and we usually get calamari. He pushes the trio appetizer which comes with hummus, baba ganoush and another spread which is $29. Came out quickly but didn't come with any bread so we asked for some and out came out this big puffy pita. Its big but it's mostly air so we ran out of pita pretty quickly and asked for another. My wife ordered chicken souvlaki and I had the lamb gyro pita sandwich. The souvlaki was ok, but the gyro was wrapped up in a lot of pita, but so small it barely was the size of my palm. The gyro meat itself was meh, dry and not really tasty. Bill came. How is this $150? They charged us for the two pitas. I am already meh about this so I pay it all and leave but to not give complimentary bread or pita with the trio seems really bizarre. Its like charging for the chips when you order guac.. What an incredible evening at this beautifully decorated Turkish cuisine in Englewood. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. It was a Monday evening so certainly not much traffic and getting a table was not an issue. But I highly suggest making a reservation if you're planning to be here between Thursday and Sunday. I started off with their freshly baked bread with some homemade olive oil vinaigrette dip. I decided to order the combo which allows you to pick any two kebabs. I went with the lamb kebab and the chicken kebab. It was absolutely scrumptious. I then decided to end the meal with a nice baklava and tea. The baklavas are homemade so they're also very fresh. As a bonus, they included a nice scoop of dark chocolate ice cream which was the perfect touch. In summary, I cannot wait to come back to this lovely cuisine. 8/15/24 Wanted something different. Came for Turkish Mediterranean Cuisine. Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Ballon Bread was fun but once it cooled it was hard like a cracker.... Smaller size for 2 people would make it less wasteful. The dipping sauce was so good that I wished we had soft warm pita instead. Octopus was tender and so flavorful. We loved! :D Dorado is a tender moist flaky fish. Less bones than bronzino makes it easier to eat. Wonderfully seasoned and then grilled. Shrimp Casserole was not what I expected. It was more like Escabèche than Casserole. Regardless it was delicious, in a tomato based sauce. It came with Pilaf, which was a good. It's been a long time since we had good pilaf, most places make it too soggy. The only thing that didn't work out was the yogurt drink and that was more our own fault for trying it. LOL. We're always willing to try things we never had. Sweet yogurt drink we know and love. Salty was a no for us. I feel like this is something you grew up with or you wouldn't be able to acquire a taste for... Definitely will return for other items on the menu. read more

I am a falafel fan, so is my friend and we each got the Falafel Platter - it was fresh and flavorful. The Lahmacun was not even a second thought for the 3rd person in our group, and he didn't even have to look at the menu. Then the Adana sandwich was enjoyed on really cool bread. Oh! We got a puffed bread to start that was something we had never seen and we enjoyed it with the tasty sauce on the side. Been wanting to come here for quite sometime and finally had the chance to. This place has great reviews and after dining at Antioch, I can see why they have such great reviews. Visited Antioch during the holidays so it wasn't that busy. I'm sure on a Friday and Saturday it'd be more busy. The restaurant itself doesn't have much seating, only a few tables, I would say about 50 people occupancy so if you're going, make sure you make reservations. The place was nicely decorated and well kept and clean. The service was great, but this is based on 2 tables being served. I'm sure the service is just as exceptional on busy days. I love that they start out with table bread, I wished they asked us if the table wanted more. We ordered a few dishes for the table, everything was delicious. The dishes we ordered is the usual dishes that we'd order from any Mediterranean restaurant. The fries calf liver is definitely something to try. Massive amounts of flavor. Big disappointment! My husband ordered their falafel plate for delivery and they did not include the rice. We only recieved 5 pieces of falafels, hummus, and a small salad with way too much onions. The actual food looks nothing like the picture from their menu. They even gave us half the portion of tomatoes in the salad and no olive on the humus. The chef claims the rice was included and didn't admit to their mistake despite sending them a photo for proof. Why would anyone pay $18 for small pieces of falafels? I ordered a falafel appetizer for $13, and recieved 5pc falafel and a small salad, which is a fair price for the food. They offered 10% off my next order, but it's useless because we wont be giving them our business again after this unfortunate event. Shepherd's salad had a bit too much onion for my taste, but was otherwise very good. Eggplant salad was very flavorful -- I would go again just for that. The lamb shank was too salty, and the carrots cooked way too long, but the meat itself was tender and low in fat. I would have served it with bulgur instead of rice, but that's me. Desserts are quite expensive -- 15 bucks for a piece of baklava? Really? -- but service was prompt and the server was very courteous. My family went to Antioch Restaurant with high hopes because the reviews seemed good. Our experience was terrible and did not at all reflect what other people have written. We went to celebrate a birthday but the vibe was totally ruined because the food came out 30 minutes apart from each other. We spent almost 3 hours not enjoying our time there but instead wondering when the next plate would come out. It was kind of weird because the people around us had a table full of food but they served us bread first and then nothing else for an hour. Also, there were only four parties at the restaurant so I'm wondering what they do when they have a full house. The food was okay but we just couldn't enjoy the meal because there were seven of us trying the share two plates at a time. Honestly, I feel bad that we paid for our experience there. I mean were they growing the vegetables themselves, catching the chickens, and milking the cows back there? All we ordered were some pizzas and salads. Also, when the food finally did come, the bottom of the pizzas were burnt. We couldn't bring ourselves to say anything because we were worried they would offer to replace it and take another hour to remake it. I e-mailed them on the week of to let them know the final count (that we have 19, not 20 people), and they said that the place is booked. It's the week of Mother's Day! We came here after a hike this past Saturday. What a rewarding meal. From the eclectic soundtrack playing in the background, casually elegant decorations, I was pleasantly surprised. This is such a cute place for a date. My favorite part was the babaganoush. I called it a "floof" because the bread looked like a cloud. The falafels (not pictured) were also scrumptious. As my friends like to say, it's best to judge a Mediterranean restaurant by their falafel quality. They did not disappoint! Prices were reasonable. We had a great time dining at Antioch. Immediately when you enter you get a sense of coziness. I loved the interior decorations. The bread is super delicious and pairs well with their appetizer dips. The hummus was by far my favorite! We also enjoyed the falafel, calamari and cheese sticks. For our dinner we had the mixed grill which was the perfect size for two people. If you order appetizers, a third person can also share the platter. My favorite was the chicken and my fiancé loved the kebab. I also enjoyed the white sauce! Got lucky and got a reservation for 12 last minute on a Saturday. We dined at 5:30 and the restaurant was empty when we got there. By 7pm there were no empty tables. We started with the Shepherds salad (a bit too much parsley), babaganush, and lahmacun. The lahmacun is sizable and delicious. It can also be ordered as an entree. You can easily have a great meal just ordering appetizers! They also give you bread to start, which my nephews loved deflating. As for entrees, we were happy about the diversity of entrees. The pasta and burger options were great for the kids! Although one of my nephews happily finished my dad's chicken Adana. Everyone seemed to enjoy their entrees except me. I ordered the gyro sandwich. Rather than the typical slices of meat, the meat was more like shredded pieces.
