I found 2 hairs in my meal. I complained and got a new one. This ruined my experience. Finding one hair is semi-understandable. But finding 2 hairs?? That is disgusting. After informing the staff I noticed that the workers handling the meat are not wearing hair nets. Perhaps this is something they can change. Although I got a new bowl without hair, my appetite was gone and I was unable to enjoy my meal. Flavor wise: this was my second time going to halal guys. It's good but not amazing. Last night i ordered the combo which consisted of lettuce, chicken/lamb, yellow basmati rice, pita slices, one packet of white sauce and one packet of red spicy sauce. Without using the sauce, the meat is overly dry without much flavor. When you combine the sauces together the meal is decent. The draw back? If you live in Glendale, there is amazing middle eastern cuisine readily available on most streets. My opinion, Halal Guys is in the wrong neighborhood. Him ho hum. I waited what just about feels like forever to try Halal Guys. The menu is simple but I still let the employee know it was my first time trying their food. I was offered a "sampler platter" which consisted of a small tin plate about the size of my palm with rice, chicken, beef & the famous white sauce to try. The sampler platter was just enough for me to have a taste of Halal Guys and not want anymore. I probably should have left from there but was hoping the actual Beef & Chicken Platter would fill the void in my expectations. All in all, I now understand why going to Halal Guys after a long night of drinking is the best time to go. I found the food too heavy and greasy for a 5:30pm dinner. The white sauce did not change my life and the hot sauce my have caused me to lose some tastes buds. The Halal Guys is the Chipotle for Middle Eastern food. Quick and easy (and sorta cheap!) but a little bland and mediocre. When they first announced their expansion into SoCal, many of my friends were hyped up. Now that I've tried it, I simply cannot understand the hype. Their white sauce isn't particularly impactful in flavor; and the meats tend to be a bit dry. The combo plate is probably the best deal in my opinion but again, I don't think it lives up to the hype it receives. There's also the sandwich/gyro option if you don't feel like eating with fork and spoon. Now if this was the only Middle Eastern cuisine available, I'd understand why it'd be so good and popular but there are a whole lot of other better options out there. I'd probably restrict this to a fast takeout option rather than a "dine in for some great quality food" experience. read more

This location hits all the perfect spots for an eatery; cleanliness, speed, delicious output, but I want to, if I may, call attention to your employee who simply goes by the name Willy. He managed my order with aplomb, and positivity. He was personable, quick, and amazingly on top of his game. The guy deserves a gold star, or, as I would've liked to, a tip. I'm saying give him some extra money. Willy deserves extra money. The rest of the crew were great, and kept checking on me as I waited for the fresh gyro to come out, so they get a nod too. Placed an online order for 10 people and they never received it! They had to make it on the spot. Lunch was very late for office. What's the point of online ordering if it doesn't work? I got an extra side of white sauce (delicious) and red sauce (super spicy for me). The chicken and beef were quite salty, especially the beef, but it balances fine with the white sauce and lettuce and tomatoes (and water). It's extremely rare for me to finish the veggies before the rice but that's the case here. I'm the type of guy that falls for commercials and hype, and I think that's what makes this place worthy of trying if you've never had it before. It feels like more of a 'late night' after party snack or a quick lunch. Without the name recognition, its not unique besides the white sauce. Like many other reviewers here, I fell in love with Halal Guys in NYC, only to find it falling a bit flat and inconsistent in LA. Don't get me wrong- it's decent and hits the spot when I'm really craving it, but the quality just isn't the same. It doesn't wow me nearly as much. Sometimes it'll surprise me and be really fresh, but for the most part it's usually just okay. When I've had it in LA, the meat usually doesn't have quite as much flavor, and I find myself drowning it in white sauce to save the dish. My recommendation over this in LA for a sit-down restaurant of a similar vein would definitely be Ta-eem. However, the upside for me with Halal Guys is that they deliver. They are also open all day on Friday and Saturday, unlike Ta-eem. I greatly respect their observance of the sabbath, but those two days are typically when I happen to be more available to go out for lunch/dinner. read more

When I complained she offer to change the food but I refused to eat bad food twice. The quality of food is not as good as it used to be. I ordered the combo plate which came with beef and chicken, both of which were seasoned well, but were a bit on the dry side. This isn't that big of a deal since you end up slathering it with one of their famous sauces anyways. Also keep in mind juicy usually means oily and fatty so it's probably a bit healthier this way. I also ordered a side of falafel which was superb. I have no complaints about the crunchy texture and near perfect flavor. Their pita bread is also fantastic, soft warm and fresh.
