I stopped in just after 10AM during a weekday, and had hoped to order a quick lunch item before driving to the SouthBay section of LA. The older man who I presumed to be the owner just opened up, and was having trouble with his cash register. No problem. I ordered a kabob sandwich wrapped in a large naan bread since he didn't have anything else. Costed about $10 with nothing else added. Took the guy about 20 minutes to make. I was fairly patient throughout, yet it was somewhat annoying having passing patrons asking if I worked here when I was waiting at the front of the store within a very tight seating area. It's undetermined if you could sit down at a table at all, since it seemed that the left side of the restaurant was mostly kitchen. I had no idea what was on the right side of the restaurant due to the current design. I would be slightly late for my LA appointment, so I wound up eating the kabob sandwich in the car, and within LA freeway traffic. When I first bit into the sandwich, I was like DAYUUUUUUM! This sandwich was actually really, really good! A little bit of the sandwich's seasoning dripped on me during the drive, yet I was prepared for that with a number of napkins on my lap. Overall, the kabob sandwich was enjoyable. Just be patient- this appears to be two person operation (husband & wife). read more

Owner/manager was very rude. I ordered one sandwich over the phone he told me it would be 20min. I come after 20 min had past and food was not yet ready so I patiently waited. When came time to pay he said he would give me a discount if I paid with cash. However I did not have cash on hand and gave him my card. He then told me that I am not a real man because I did not have cash with me very consistently which upset my mood a lot and broke my heart." I am a minimum wage employee and I don't earn money in cash is what I told him" and he laughed in my face and told me he built his business on earning cash back in his day. I didn't want to argue and left broken heartedly. The way he speaks is very demeaning and really crushes your soul. The sandwich wasn't all that great either... really not worth waiting 30min for my feeling to be hurt and sandwich to suck. This is my first bad review in over 5 years. read more

The one time I tried to order a sandwich (which was on the menu), I received a blank stare in response from one guy, and the other one told me they couldn't make it. When I asked him to clarify, he said it would take them two hours and then walked away. It was early afternoon, and there no customers, and no food smells. The food was amazing! I ordered the Chicken Kabob Hot Plate and the meat was season just enough and very tender. The rice was fluffy and the Humus was not grainy like other places. The best part for me was the pita bread which was thin and freshly made inside a wood fired oven and unlike most places like Zankou Chicken where they charge you almost $15 for a small dark meat chicken, 2 small sides and reheated pita from another food supplier in a plastic bag. This hole in the wall place is truly a hidden gem in the heart of Glendale. Let me start off by saying I am really picky when it comes to Mediterranean food. This place left me speechless. I came here for lunch with a coworker. We shared plate #5 beef and chicken with rice and hummus. The owner threw in potatoes as well. The potatoes were so good and seasoned to perfection. The chicken and beef was so tender and juicy. The rice was so good with the roasted tomato on top. One thing i really loved was that he gave us both complimentary salads just for mentioning Yelp. I am really glad i did because the salad was really good. the dressing was citrusy and made it taste really great. The owner was very friendly and talkative. He made us feel welcomed and definitely made us want to keep coming back. Brand Grill also caters so I will have to convince the office to cater some lunch for us from here. read more

Beware the older Russian-Armenian guy (which is the owner) will basically have a heart attack if you don't have cash to pay for your food. He only wants cash and if you don't have it he refuses to make you food and gives you an attitude. I have had great tasting kabobs before, but these have a tender freshness that adds to the masterful seasoning. Surely some of the best kabobs I've ever had. The only thing wrong with this place is the cook. He doesn't speak English well and so he reverts to acting like a jerk instead of slowing down and listen. Decided to try this place after all the great reviews! Although there weren't many reviews, but I work near this place & wanted some healthy food, so thought I'd give it a shot! Thank you yelpers for leading me in the right place!!! Like everyone says the owner is super nice and the food does take about 20-25 minutes, so call ahead if you're doing take-out or make sure you have time to eat if you want to sit in. But it is worth it, they make the food cooked to order, isn't that how it should be! Everything was fresh and spot-on, while I was waiting he even asked how I wanted the beef cooked! I got the chicken and beef kebab combo plate (5)- came with hummus, rice, roasted tomato, and pieces of chicken and beef (I've also included a picture of my to go box) I would definitely come here again, he liked the fact that I worked around the area and supported a small local business and offered me a free drink after chatting it up. The most recent was 2 days ago and I was just impressed by the significant amount of meat included in our order. Knowing how much the prices have sky rocketed this place is by far the most affordable. His barbecue and salads as are so delicious, every time my guests are left satisfied. I highly encourage you to leave it up to him in terms of quantity, just provide the number of guests and he will include more then enough meat and sides.
