It is located in a new and busy strip center and parking can be challenging in front when competing with the other businesses during a meal time. I had lunch there last weekend. Inside it has a long ordering counter and I ordered a large chicken bowl for $11. It's only $1 more expensive than a small size. They heaped the lettuce, tomatoes, chicken, rice and that lovely white sauce and bbq sauce that I like so much. I added a fountain drink too. It was a very good tasting, filling and economical meal. We used to LOVE this place. Food was great, awesome lighting, tasty white sauce and meat. Have probably bought it bi weekly for months because we liked it so much. However, in the past few times we grabbed our food the amount of meat has been getting smaller. And what made us incredibly upset was this last time we went... in the middle of them pouring the meat, one of the workers (maybe the manager) kept telling our person that they were giving too much food to us while we were being served and kept stopping our person from providing more food. Good customer service. The worker helping me was patient and explained what is offered. The food was ok. Keeping in mind it's just a bowl of rice, lettuce, tomatoes, and your choice of meat and/or falafel. I choose the regular not the small and definitely should have done the small since I added a side of hummus and pita. The chicken was ok; the falafel (3 small balls) were hard (fried) but once they were open had a good taste - there was more shell than insides bc it had that much hard surface. I wouldn't get it again. I would also skip having the lettuce (I hate iceberg lettuce and it was a third of the bowl. The pita was thick and gummy once it was sitting in the foil, and while I wasn't overwhelmed with the pita by any means, I did enjoy the hummus. The sauce was good, but without it I don't think there would have been an a major flavor that stood out. I had them add fresh bell peppers, onions, and olives, and once everything was mixed together was definitely better. I don't think $16 is overpriced for nowadays' expenses for dining out for the amount of food - but it's definitely more of a fast food bowl taste, and I'd rather spend that much at a place that still blows me away with great tastes and quality food. Still, I'd go back and try the other meats and they have a picture of a chocolate baklava cheesecake - so I'm curious to try that dessert. The restaurant is small and was freezing. He is very personable when he goes out of his way to make you feel welcome and gives you a really good portion size for your money. We both got the combo platter beef and chicken. It came with an assortment of vegetables like lettuce tomatoes olives jalapeños bell pepper and a very hot sauce. Oh and a white sauce as well. Let me tell you I can eat very hot sauces and hot food. This hot sauce is seriously hot. I was shocked as to how hot it is. It's very good though. So if you like hot sauce to me it's a must try. They are a hit or miss. If it is fresh it is great but if it has been sitting you get hard rice and tough chicken (especially if you don't have sauce on it). If you want consistency think about ordering the beef gyro. The bread always taste good and the beef is tender and flavorful. They have fresh tomatoes, green peppers, and onions. I also like to order the combo platter, but it is not always pleasing. I should probably just get the beef because chicken is dry and hard. Maybe skip the rice because if it isn't fresh it is hard as a rock. I enjoy little white sauce and lots of red sauce. They will give it to you on the side in packets but they give you two huge white sauce and one little red sauce packet. If you want another red sauce packet it is sixty something cents extra. Also, why packets and not small containers? Also, they stopped making the spicy hummus, which is weird because I had asked them what made it spicy and they use their hot sauce. Their red hot sauce is awesome! What's more to say? Yes, the menu is small but the taste is big. I recommend the Gyro Plate and just dig in! I, personally, like quite a few stripes of the hot sauce. It is the red sauce. Now, this sauce is not for the faint of tongue. It is very HOT & SPICY (and very delicious)! If you like spicy then give it a try. Keep in mind if you ask for some hot sauce "on the side," instead they will give you a packet of the sauce. It has been my (consistent) experience that the sauce from the packet tastes very different compared to the sauce from the bottle. The sauce from the bottle is far better. The sauce from the packet has a much stronger vinegar taste. Go for the good stuff and ask for the sauce striped on your food from the bottle. I swear it will elevate your dining experience. If hot sauce is not for you then it will elevate your blood temperature and make you cry. Don't be ashamed. You did your best. As Yoda said: there is no try. It is do or do not. Feel the heat. Yoda would be proud. It is also true that even without the hot sauce the gyro meat is quite good. I'm not so sure I can say the same for the chicken. The chicken has too much citrus flavor for my liking. I imagine the chicken marinade to be a vinegar and lemon based sauce. With the chicken pieces so small, you get a lot of that marinade flavor and the result is... well, bright chicken. It was so bright that my taste buds had to squint a bit. Wear tongue-glasses. But the beef/lamb gyro meat is the real deal. I enjoy it very much. The meat juxtaposed against the rice and coupled with the white and red sauce make for an amazing, full range of flavor in each bite. Price - reasonably price, and if I recall correctly, it's $5-$10 a person. 3. Ambiance - the dining area is small, there is probably 6-8 tables and a bar-like-area with 8 stools. Dress code here is casual. 4. Food - I've ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich here. Not bad and pretty good. It's more like a chicken wrap with tomatoes and tzatziki sauce (white sauce).
