Love the aroma in the restaurant when I opened the doors. The aroma whetted my appetite. I ordered the small and regular beef gyro platter. The beef was thinly sliced but the portion given was very generous. The veggies given were also plenty. The rice tasted good too. The platter was delicious. It is a must to add the white sauce in the platter. I love their white sauce and hot sauce. The white sauce paired very nicely with the meat. Their hot sauce is legendary. For people who can't take spicy, just a dab of the hot sauce will do. Staff were very friendly. The wall paintings showed where The Halal Guys started out. The drawings are eye-catching. There are plenty of seats in the restaurant; great for families and casual eat outs.

Service is always quick and efficient. It is very clean in there. Food is so yummy! I love their white sauce! Super flavorful, good size portions. Priced very fairly! Lots of options on the menu. They have it all! Parking is easy. It is in a shopping center!

we got the signature chicken and beef gyro platters and topped it w their spicy hummus and baba ghanoush! the spicy hummus was my fav topping it had a nice kick and added an extra layer of creaminess to the dish. the portions were also huge we had enough leftovers for a second meal! another fav was the baklava cheesecake which was sweet, creamy, and def one of the best cheesecakes ive had! the drinks were also super refreshing and there were so many diff flavors to choose from. what we got: - beef gyro platter + baba ghanoush - chicken platter + spicy hummus - falafel with tahini - french fries - baklava - baklava cheesecake - mango lemonade - lychee iced tea ig: @whatsviveating

While visiting the area we decided to try out The Halal Guys. Store was very clean and welcoming staff. Food was stored well and good temperature. We ordered the combo platter of chicken and beef. Assembly line mode of building your platter. The basic lettuce, tomato, onion and green pepper options. It was extra for humus (about $1.60) and olives and jalapeños were about $0.60. The portion size for the "extra" cost was too small. Each platter came with three pieces of pita bread triangles. Roughly half a pita bread - bread not tasty at all. The food itself was good for a chain location. Standard flavors. We also ordered their passion fruit lemonade, and it was neither passion fruit nor lemonade. Watered down and minimal flavor. Overall, we'd go back if looking for the same meal, but not any time soon.

Hello to the World of Yelp once more. I just wanted to share a quick review of one of my meals this weekend. I decided to try something new and of course, when it's new, I order enough for 2, to try a few things on the menu. Halal Guys where the winner! My order: Falafel Platter Falafel Sandwich Mint Lemonade Mango Lemonade Topped with bit of Tahini. Falafel Platter: consist of a seasoned rice, falafels, tomatoes and lettuce with the options of a few select condiments. I asked that the platter and sandwich be made the signature way. The olives were extra. Falafel sandwich: consist of the same items on the platter minus the rice. Pros: The tomatoes and lettuce were very fresh and the rice was a fresh batch as well. However, I cannot over look the Lemonades, the better of the 2 was the Mango, the mint was a bit watered, however palatable, plus I like lemonade. Cons: Both the Sandwich and The Platter lacked any true flavor, the falafels for me were inconsistent in the taste as if there could have been different types of falafels. The Tahini alone didn't do it for me and sometimes can be overpowering in taste. Maybe a squeeze of lemon juice? Overall Halal guys in my experience of sandwiches/wraps and falafels from my travels just didn't quench my palate. 3 stars because the service was great and the workers full of energy. Until next time! Bye-Bye

Food was amazing. Went for the first time today. Got the beef gyro sandwich & two honey siracha falafels. Wife had the combination plate. We also got the baklava cheesecake. Everything was worth it. Service was fast. Chill ambiance.

I wasnt even coming to this location; I was going to the restaurant next door but they were closed. Decided since Im already here and Im hungry; might as well right?!? Glad I did because the service and the food was good! I explained this was my 1st time and the guy broke everything down for me. They have two platters. There's a dollar difference in price or you can get a pita sandwich. comes with lettuce tomatoes your choice of me with the platter you have rice, and with the pita you don't have rice. The onions and peppers are free but if you wanna add any other sides, it's a cost to it. I feel like I work there now The guys were really helpful with making my platter. I got a small platter with a combo chicken and Gyro meat with olives which was an extra $.59. I also grabbed a vitamin water to go. this location is only about 15 minutes from me, so I definitely can see myself coming back in the future. I can describe this place as a chipotle, but Halal!

This was a great find. I was really in the mood for some Mediterranean. It was an added bonus that it's close to home. The food is well prepared and full of flavor.

We went on a Friday as this place was a great location, walking distance from our downtown hotel. The first thing I tried were the falafels, which were dry and tasted old. I was a bit disappointed. My boyfriend wouldn't even finish 1. Next we tried our plates. The plates were packed with food, which was great for the price. They ran out of regular hummus, but my lamb with the spicy hummus and rice was good, the lamb was tender, and I loved the veggies in the rice. The lentil salad was also really good. My boyfriend's chicken breast was pretty dry, the only way we could eat it was with hummus. Overall, the place is good. I'd go again if I were in downtown Houston, the lamb and rice and lentils were great, but I would avoid the chicken breast and falafels.

I ordered a chicken/gyro combination platter with sides of garbanzo beans, tzatziki, and spicy hummus. The chicken and gyro tasted decent but all three sides could have used more flavor. Spreading the sides on the complementary pita only helped a bit. The food might have still scraped by with 4 stars but service fell short as well. I only wanted 2 sides but had been charged for 3 due to language barriers with one employee. I specifically asked if the sauces (e.g. spicy hummus, tzatziki) would count as a side and the employee responded no. A second employee handled my order at checkout and explained that the sauces do in fact count as sides (but the saffron rice... doesn't). $15+tax seems fair for 1 entree and 2 sides, but I didn't appreciate paying $2.15 for a third side that I was misled about. One thing I will give this restaurant props for is maintaining a clean dining area, but it's not enough to make me consider returning.

So slow we could've gone to another restaurant, been sat, and eaten a meal before we ate our meal here. When we walked in, there was only another table or two seated inside so we were like okay not busy, we'll be in and out, but that was far from the case. There was only one server that night that did almost literally everything, and it was hard to find or flag her down. More people were starting to come in and to our dismay THEIR orders were being taken first after we'd been ready and just sitting there for literally more than 15-20 minutes. Ridiculous is an understatement; we were also sitting right in front of the kitchen so I don't understand how she kept passing by us without batting an eye. There were tables that came after us and left before us, truly disappointing. At one point when we were finally able to get her attention, she said "let me drop this water off and I'll be right back." Spoiler alert - she didn't. She dropped it off and went to tend to other tables before finally coming back to us. Besides all of that, the food was good and eased our frustration a little bit. We ordered the trio dip as a starter and circling back to the service complaint for a second, we thought she would've put it in before more guests started pouring in, but she didn't!! So we were left waiting with no food whatsoever, everything ended up coming out at the same time. Anyway, moving on - the food was seasoned very well, and the flavor was all there, perfect and just the way I expected. It satisfied my cravings and I have no complaints about that. Overall, I think the establishment could be a little better. It's not a huge dining area so I didn't expect service to take that long. I don't mean to be harsh and I understand there was only one server, but I don't remember waiting so long for my order to be taken at a restaurant. We were there for definitely more than 1 hour 50 minutes for a party of 2. I look forward to eating here again but perhaps another location.

The food is good, and I knew that this was a counter service type of place rather than table service. Not a problem. It's just that when I go to a Greek restaurant, I want some Greek food options. I LOVE Greek food, and I get excited when I know it's coming. So I was underwhelmed with the menu. It's basically choose your meat and do you want rice, fries, or feta fries - which you should get. They do have some starters like different dips, dolmades, and spanakopita. As well as a Greek salad and rice bowls... but that's kind of it. Where is the moussaka, or the keftedes? Maybe this is more of a Greek street food type of place, but I was just a little underwhelmed by the options especially since we frequently make our own Gyros at home so I wanted something different. It was still good food though. I'm not sure I would go back unless someone in my family specifically wanted to eat here, but that's only because I would prefer different options. I WILL SAY, the guy behind the counter was working hard and attentive. He took our orders and as soon as one dish was up, he brought it over so it was fresh. If you go, you have to try the feta fries and the lemon potatoes. Yes, they're both potatoes, but they're both delicious. You could probably pass on the baklava. It's not the best I've had. The baklava ice cream was good, but I wouldn't get it again. I was really hoping that they'd have some Loukoumades for dessert, but alas, they did not. The takeaway is that this is more like a Greek fast food and while it's good, it's not big on the options. Worth a try if you're new to Greek food, but not worth it if you love many different options. My mom was happy and that's all that matters since it was her birthday. For those who care to know, the bathroom seemed clean, the restaurant was clean and bright, the one guy behind the counter was great... and that pretty much sums it up.
