I always love the variety at Dimassi's. Regardless of whether you're a vegetarian, meat lover, health conscious, sweet toother, et cetera... everything here tastes so good. I usually come on weekends which bumps up the admission price to $21 before tax but it's always been worth it for me. My favorites here are the lamb shanks (not always available), baked fish, and grilled vegetables. I have found that the hummus goes well with pretty much everything. The baklava is a must for desert if you still have the stomach for it by the end. Central European vibe all around and very well maintained. Floors and countertops are typically spotless, with disposable hand covers to decrease contamination of food. On business trip from DC decided to drive the distance from downtown Houston to try this restaurant. Expectations weren't high and got nervous when I saw a handful of cars in parking lot. Then remembered probably many Muslims will be coming for Iftar. Where is the 6th star option? This restaurant is beyond expectations impressive in every way. I really love this Mediterranean buffet! You get to try an assortment of delicious dishes! My absolute favorite is their lamb shank! It's so tender and falls right off the bone. You have to order it from the guys at the grill and they bring it to you. My other favs: the stuffed grape leaves, lentil rice, spicy hummus, baba ganoush, beef kabo They really keep this restaurant clean as well, which I love. One of my good friends had a Baby Shower here and also their son's bday celebration. . . they were lied to by Dimassi's staff! Ever since they were "bought out" (if that's even true), business has severely gone down hill! Dimassi's forced them to pay $250/hr for their event, even though when they had booked the rez and when they had their baby shower there the first time, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING was mentioned about a fee! What kind of shoddy business does that?! So a week out when they called to finalize the numbers, they were shocked to find out about this phantom charge that was suddenly sprung up to them! If they were actually a CARING business that cared about repeat business like my friends were, they should've immediately looked at the upcoming reservations and had the common business courtesy to NOTIFY them about this hefty charge instead of surprising them a week before the event so they'd still have ample time to seek another venue if they didn't wanna pay the $250/hr! Lady at the front (working their event on Sunday afternoon) was also such a RUDE ASS! I overheard her several times complaining to the party MC that their band was "too loud" -- um, hello?????????? It's a freakin BAND of course they will be making music and honestly they weren't loud at all.... she's also completely full of it bec I saw her bopping her head up and down when they were playing songs and was even recording them playing!! We had dinner at DiMassi's on Thursday night. For the first time ever it was not good. The food looked fine but tasted bland or had the wrong flavor profile. When I paid at the exit counter I mentioned that it wasn't delicious like usual. They explained that the cook was new and that they'd had to bring in a chef from another location to help teach him. I sure hope the chef is a good teacher because the new cook doesn't have good instincts. The place was clean and bright like always. I hope they can fix the problem. First of all, I didn't know it was a buffet, until taking the time to actually read the sign and paying them a visit. Mmmm very tasty mediterranean buffet with a wide variety of options. We came on a weekend, so they had increased base buffet prices, but offered complimentary lamb shanks. My favorites were the grilled chicken thigh, lamb shank, and flavored rice. I appreciated the large number of salad/appetizer options as well, but tbh found that they tasted quite similar in flavor profile. Not many options for dessert, but I thought the rice pudding was a light and refreshing way to end the meal. One thing I didn't love was that you had to hound a server down to ask for a lamb shank, and they are often nowhere to be seen. I am giving this 4 stars because my daughter absolutely loves this place. She has brought me the rice, chicken, humus and garlic sauce and I do like them a lot. However we went to the actual restaurant and I decided to try the buffet to try different dishes. Well all the chicken I selected was tough and not flavorful at al (fried, kebab). The rice with vermicelli was good and I add the garlic sauce which makes it even better. The potatoes were tasty but cold. The salad was just OK. I didn't try too much because they did not look appetizing. My daughter always gets the same thing everytime so instead of the all you can eat, she got a to go box and wasn't charged as much. read more

We made a reservation for a luncheon of family & friends a couple of months prior to the actual date of event. At this time charge per plate was discussed & both parties were in agreement. But 3 days prior to the occasion they railroaded us by saying that there is a change in ownership & the charge per plate went up & the kids will get the same price per plate as adult. We found out that the ownership did not change, rather it is their way of up charging us. By this time we have no way of backing out because of time constraints. Family & friends have been informed of the meeting place. Therefore, it was impossible for us to find a different venue at the last minute. On top of increasing per plate they even added a totally new bogus random charge for using the floor of $250./hr. which totally shocked us! This was never discussed when the reservation was made. We felt it was highway robbery. Dimassi's Pearland now runs a VERY shady business and based on our negative experience, they're ready to scam you the quickest way they can! I don't eat meat anymore so I couldn't test out half of the selection... there was plenty of salad options... so it was ok. It's a good choice for Mediterranean food in the Pearland area and very affordable @ $13.99. They also had yummy baklava and dessert section was complimentary. The dining quarters were very clean. Everything is shiny and pretty. As far as taste, it was all ok. Decent tasting, although the falafel was a bit overpowering for some reason, cloying almost. I wish they had the sautéed spinach and fried cauliflower that someone mentioned in an earlier review... that would have made my day. Meat eaters: there is a HEAVY meat selection from lamb shanks to chicken breasts to filet fish. You will not be disappointed as far as variety is concerned although I can't speak for taste. Rose water... hmm. I usually just take still water with my meals. The rose water was weird tasting, a bit syrupy and artificial, bright pink. It was my first time trying anything like that so I'm not sure what I expected. Oh well. I would come back if I knew they were going to have more vegetarian options other than salad and pita bread. My family went to the Webster restaurant and it was our first time in the Webster restaurant, i have previously been to the location in Westheimer and I loved both! My favorite dish was the beef kebab with rice. I loved the local mediterranean drinks and even tried the arabic coffee which was very strong and good for me. I ate until i was full, must have gone for 3 or more rounds of buffet. I left feeling very full and satisfied with the money I spent. I will definately go back with my family. There were so many enticing colors and smells inside that building, I had to walk the buffet line before fixing my first plate to create a game plan for where to start. I tried so many things and let me tell you, the food is FRESH! Tabouleh, Fatoosh, Hummus, etc. fresh and crisp veggies. The pita was fluffy and surprisingly not stale. The rose water and tamarind juice! OMG! I'd never seen either of those before so of course I had to try both. The rose water was VERY sweet and had floral notes. The tamarind juice was freaking delicious! I had three cups of that stuff. One thing I noticed that stood out to me. They clean off tables regularly and the cart they collect dishes is is emptied just as regularly. It was nothing like the clicking, clanking bucket of filthy plates and food remnants. First off I want to say this location was very clean and made me feel comfortable eating at a buffet during these COVID times. The reason for the 3 stars is this location did not have a huge selection compared to the location located in the loop. Also, they did not have my beloved lamb shank or appeared not to because there wasn't a sign to ask for it. The hummus options were fresh and I enjoyed my spicy hummus and spinach hummus. I also enjoyed my lentil soup and I wish I loaded up more on that as opposed to other dishes because it was very tasty. The shawarma was okay, not as hot in temperature as I would like.
