I have been to Arabella's many times over the last few years. It never fails to disappoint. If you like Mediterranean food and excellent service, this is the place for you. I have had almost everything on the menu and everything is delicious. Some of my favorites are the lamb shank and kabobs, chicken and beef shawarma, spicy hummus, fried cauliflower and cucumber salad. I like to eat there because it's rarely crowded when I go and it has a peaceful, calm vibe where I can sit and relax. There is usually a steady stream of customers picking up food to take out and occasionally a few will dine in. The workers are very polite, friendly and helpful. This is really a 3.5 but the good parts were enough for me to give 4 stars. I love Mediterranean food, so I was happy we found this spot. We went on a Friday as this place was a great location, walking distance from our downtown hotel. The first thing I tried were the falafels, which were dry and tasted old. I was a bit disappointed. My boyfriend wouldn't even finish 1. Next we tried our plates. The plates were packed with food, which was great for the price. They ran out of regular hummus, but my lamb with the spicy hummus and rice was good, the lamb was tender, and I loved the veggies in the rice. The lentil salad was also really good. My boyfriend's chicken breast was pretty dry, the only way we could eat it was with hummus. Overall, the place is good. I'd go again if I were in downtown Houston, the lamb and rice and lentils were great, but I would avoid the chicken breast and falafels. read more

While I love seeing Mediterranean options expand in Pearland, my experience at Arabella was merely okay. I ordered a chicken/gyro combination platter with sides of garbanzo beans, tzatziki, and spicy hummus. The chicken and gyro tasted decent but all three sides could have used more flavor. Spreading the sides on the complementary pita only helped a bit. The food might have still scraped by with 4 stars but service fell short as well. I only wanted 2 sides but had been charged for 3 due to language barriers with one employee. I specifically asked if the sauces (e.g. spicy hummus, tzatziki) would count as a side and the employee responded no. A second employee handled my order at checkout and explained that the sauces do in fact count as sides (but the saffron rice... doesn't). $15+tax seems fair for 1 entree and 2 sides, but I didn't appreciate paying $2.15 for a third side that I was misled about. One thing I will give this restaurant props for is maintaining a clean dining area, but it's not enough to make me consider returning. read more

We both ate from one entree Chicken curry with saffron rice (curry could have been a little more seasoned for my taste but was good non the less.) I tried the combo platter which came with 4 sides and got beef schwarma on top of saffron rice, baba ghanouj, fried cauliflower, mushroom salad, and pomegranate eggplant. The meat and rice were just okay and needed more seasoning, but I enjoyed most of the sides! I liked the baba ghanouj and mushroom salad the best out of the sides, then the fried cauliflower, then the eggplant. I liked how the baba ghanouj was creamy but still had small pieces of eggplant in it and had a nice grilled flavor! The mushroom salad was tasty too with caramelized onions and mushrooms on it, and I liked the added hummus the dish had to bind it together with the salad. I would have liked it even more without the lettuce on the bottom and with just mushrooms and onions! The fried cauliflower was nice and simple. The pomegranate eggplant was good but slightly too mushy and tangy for me. The garlic sauce was decent, not super strong. The total was around $25 after tip. The service was efficient. Great find!! After a long morning of medical appts; I needed a good lunch and found it here!! I am not from the area and don't get to Pearland often but this place would be worth a return visit when in the area! I ordered the lunch plate with one entree and 2 sides (comes with rice as well plus pita bread)... I had the lamb and gyro meat with arugula salad (which was scrumptious) and a side of spicy of hummus... the only reason i'm giving 4 stars and not 5, is the hummus isn't what I ordered, but by the time I sat down, I was too hungry to fix the mistake...I wanted to try the Dolmas and can see where that could sound like hummus. Tried this place for the first time today with my husband and the food did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, we were kindly greeted and informed of the process to order. We both ordered the plate with protein and three sides. I got falafels with rice, salad, and baba ghanoush. I really enjoyed my plate! The Greek salad was fresh and delicious as well as the rice and baba ghanoush. Husband ordered chicken and beef shawarma with rice, Greek salad, and spicy hummus. My husband really enjoyed his dish. To me, the spicy hummus was too spicy and would not order it for my plate. He enjoyed it but agreed that it was spicy. The food was also reasonably priced. I really like that the place was very clean and as we were there, one of the employees was cleaning different areas throughout the restaurant. I enjoyed my food I had a 1 meat and 2 sides plate. I had the chicken kebab plate with some dolmas and cabbage salad. I ordered a chicken kebab plate with rice and spinach for my husband. I really enjoyed the rice it was nice and buttery, the spinach was average nothing special, the dolmas were nice and lemony . The chicken kabob was made right in front of me so that was nice to see. It does take a good 10-15 minutes but at least you know you are getting meat straight from the fire. When looking at the salad bar to choose my sides, to me the offerings did not look that fresh so I was kind of limited on what I could choose. Even the cabbage salad that I had wasn't the freshest. So I hope on my future visit the sides will be replenished and appear fresher so that I can try other options. Overall I liked it. read more

Arabella has a location in Houston and they're owned by the same people who have brought you Abu Omar food truck. I really hate giving a new establishment a review that's less than stellar but I'm a straight shooter. I stopped by on a weekday for some takeout for dinner. I went with the one meat, two sides plate. For my meat, I went with the beef shawarma which is sliced to order. For my two sides, I went with the rice with vermicelli and the oven-roasted potatoes. You also have your choice of sauce for your meat which they squeeze on top. I went with the tahini. The set-up is similar to spots like Fadi's or Dimassi's. Unfortunately, the food failed to deliver. The oven roasted potatoes were undercooked. The beef was overcooked to the point it was burnt. The rice was fine but you really can't mess that one up. With new restaurants, sometimes it takes a little time to work out all of the kinks. I hope Arabella gets there with a little time! read more

Just ordered lunch from Arabella today. Read some of the reviews and went with the chicken shawarma sandwich. It was pretty good. Still hot from the door dash delivery. I also got a side of hummus and pita bread. The pita was especially delicious. So soft and tasted freshly made. I ordered from DoorDash. I was excited to see this new Mediterranean place because Fadi's is a little bit too far from my house. I love the food and the portions were enough for two people. The price is fantastic, the service was excellent and they definitely have a new customer. The grilled chicken kebab was juicy! The pasta salad and french fries were excellent. I like that the food does not have a ton of salt because you can add as little or as much as you want without feeling like your blood pressure is gonna boil over. We were given lamb shawarma instead of the beef we asked for. There was a large amount of connective tissue running through each piece which really ruined it, unfortunately. It was pretty much inedible. And it was of course not what we asked for. The pickled veg that came with each meal was delicious, though. They cooked the sizzling beef and chicken right in front of us! They definitely had one of the best Baba Ghanoush we have ever had and we let them know! We loved the fresh salads, dips, vegetables, and entrees, and the endless combinations. They have so much of a variety of different meats and sides - you will want to try it all! The lamb was juicy and tender and had a perfect seasoning to it. It basically fell off the bone as you can see.
