Large and small beef gyro platter

The Halal Guys never disappoints! I've been to one location in Vegas, so I was curious to see how the Tempe location compared. We visited on a Saturday night, but luckily were able to find parking in the back. I was going to order their limited edition wings, but ended up going for their classic beef gyro small platter for $11.99. My boyfriend got the same order, except the regular platter, which will run you $12.99. You can choose to add jalapeños or olives, but I believe those will cost extra. I really like their hot sauce here, but be cautious as it is very spicy! The staff advised me they could also provide the hot sauce on the side, which I appreciated. Their white sauce is also very delicious with the platter. They provided a decent amount of beef gyro meat, lettuce, tomato, pita and rice. Everything tasted very fresh and I thought it was a decent deal for the price. My boyfriend did want to order their lychee tea, however we were a little sad to hear that they were all out/the machines were broken and no tea options were available. Overall, it was a very clean establishment and great location near ASU for late night eats. We'll be back for our next craving!

This place was good. It is a very popular place everywhere, food was good, the staff was nice. The place was clean my 4 stars is because is located near by ASU college and traffic and parking are usually a mess

As a native East Coaster who hit the original Halal Guys trucks before the hype, I was pumped to find one in Tempe. It's not the same as the NYC street cart, but it hits close enough. The meat's solid, the white sauce is still magic, and the red sauce still burns. No line, no chaos, just a decent fix when you're far from the real deal.

We have been here a few times and our recent visit was the best one. It is a good spot for some quick halal food. We normally get the Beef Gyro Platter and the Beef Gyro sandwich. The previous times we went, the pita bread was dry and barely was given for the regular platter. Our recent visit was the best as everything tasted great. I asked for a drop of the hot sauce this time because they gave me 2 hot sauce lines and I struggled eating my food. So be careful with the hot sauce! They have jalapeño, green peppers and black olives for toppings. The restaurant was empty when we were there for dinner but luckily the food tasted good. The parking is terrible there.

Ordered here from a delivery app. I got one falafel plate and one gyro plate. Both plates came with rice, lettuce, tomato, pita, and tahini. Thought the gyro meat was tender and had good flavor. The falafel was good but I can tell it's not their specialty. Needed to be more fried, needed more flavor. I would say it would be good in a combo plate with another protein. Presentation was very good especially for delivery. Lettuce was crips. Rice had a good springy texture. Seasoning on the rice was mild. Definitely would consider ordering from here again.

10/10..... I'm happy to say this place has stepped up its service and quality ! A meal with a drink for under $20 is hard to come by anywhere now.... and I got this meal for 16$ and it was fresh and tasty ! Thank you Halal guys !

Halal Guys has announced a "rapid expansion" of their restaurant locations. Not so for their Montebello (Christown Spectrum) store which has closed. Since I was in the neighborhood, I visited the Rural Rd store in Tempe. Before heading over, I placed an order on their app. Unfortunately, the app did not offer fountain (only bottled) drinks, curbside pickup or payment options such as PayPal or Apple Pay. Bummer. When I arrived, the order was ready when promised and was accurate. I opted for the Chicken and Beef Gyro Combo Platter. It included mostly rice and iceberg lettuce. The meats were okay, but lacked flavor. Eyeballing it, here's an ingredient breakdown: 35% - Rice 25% - Iceberg Lettuce 15% - Chicken 15% - Gyro Beef 7% - Pita 3% - Tomato The pita wasn't especially warm, but it was fluffy and would recommend it. Health conscious eaters beware. The included pouch of "White Sauce" was good, but clocked in at a whopping 330 calories for the sauce alone. Halal Guys was okay for the fast service and price point. If you're interested in better food, their original NYC lunch cart is probably a better option.

Food was good! Service was ok. The screens weren't working so it was hard to decide what to order, I just copied whoever was in front of me! Glad I did though! I got a chicken and beef combo. I can tell this is a busy spot though so you know it's good. I'm glad they gave us sauce on the side, because that white sauce is a game changer, so good!

This place is always a good idea. However, the meat looked like it has been sitting for awhile and It was dead inside. The service is great and the place looked clean. Not Smokey inside so you can eat inside and not smell like the food. But maybe it's because the food has been sitting?

I remember this being one of my favorite spots in New York City for late night food. It tasted amazing and was a great deal. They have fallen so much since it's become a chain restaurant. I used to get twice the amount of food for less. The plate isn't even full.

I want to start off by saying that I was perplexed to find that HG only had a 3 star rating. Upon review, it appears to be mostly due to service, not the quality of the food. I have yet to have an issue with their service; I have always been attended to promptly! Disclaimer, I also go pretty late in the evening, 8/9PM, I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I have had the chicken and beef gyro both and they are both tasty! I either get the regular combo platter or beef platter which is $10. I load mine up with rice, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, and bell peppers. The veggies have always been fresh! Don't skip the white sauce!! It's creamy and delicious! And the hot sauce was hot, really not sure what is happening but I had my usual 2 lines yesterday and it was very faint... Bf had 3 lines and there was some lingering hotness... he said next time he might do 4-5 lines :O I usually have enough leftover for a second meal, which you can't beat at $10. Definitely give HG a try!

This comes with delicious basmati rice, small salad, grilled onion & tomatoes, hummus, and a piece of pita bread. I also like to try a different item each time and I think the pecan baklava is awesome so I usually get that too. We did a half order of it, and decided next time we would do a full order and an order of the Butter chicken to split. Our server was probably one of the worst servers I have ever had. Zero personality and literally never said one word to us. Several to go orders and Uber Eats people came in and out while we waited about 10 minutes. We finally told the man at the front desk that we needed to order and get some drinks. Server came over with his notepad and looked at us to take orders, didn't say a word. When he brought the dishes, a few minutes later, he literally plopped all of them in one spot in the table without making any attempt to remember which dish went to which person. Very odd behavior The dishes on the menu are clearly marked vegetarian, vegan or contains meat. We had two dishes that were supposed to be vegan, one was a saag dish which they had placed butter over the top of. It looked delicious to everyone, but the vegans who could not eat it. When we pointed it out, they made no attempt to offer us another dish and just said oh yes, that's ghee (clarified butter) we said the menu indicated it was vegan, but again no response. The two vegans at our table just decided rather than argue, they will share the rice dish, which was also indicated as vegan. As they started to eat it, they realized there were several pieces of paneer in it. I really hope this was a one off because this was one of my favorite places to eat Indian food. Very very disappointing and no accommodation for the inedible dishes.

There's lots of seating inside so it's a nice casual spot. First of all the prices here are incredible, our pita wrap was only $9, and an additional $1 to "make it viral" (crispy). The food took a really long time to come out, there was quite a few people waiting in front of us which is why I think it took so long, they also seemed to grill all the meats to order so I'm not super mad about the wait. The meat inside the wrap wasn't super flavorful, but still pretty good. All the hummus, sauce, and pickles really brought it all together. I probably wouldn't get it crispy next time since it honestly hurt the inside of my mouth, and just seemed to kind of make it greasy, it wasn't as crispy as I thought it would be, just kinda hard.
