    Small Chicken Platter
    Keita N.

Walked in and saw freshly grilled chicken being prepped. Ordered the small chicken platter with peppers and onion. Wasn't too much rice and a plenty full of chicken, just how I like it. Their portion of white sauce was very generous and the service was nothing but kind. The atmosphere was very clean too. 100% will come back for more.

Their platters are so freaking good. My favorite is mixed with extra white sauce and and extra pita. We tried the chicken shawarma...it was ok but I'll stick to my usual.

Pleasant experience here. The lady's customer service is pure with no intent to change depending on the tip. She explained things well too. This store participates in upside and points accumulation offer by creditcards which is pretty neat. Their Mediterranean foods are good and fresh as well. Accepts credit cards. High chair available. Clean and organized place. Ample of parking. See images for reference.

Decently quick service at this nj location and is it the original truck quality? It comes so very close! This is our rainy day or winter tired comfort meal. Spacious in location, the restaurant appears clean and all napkins /utensils fully stocked without fuss. With 14 years of experience, the meat platter comes abundantly delicious. The service is quick, and usually very polite. once they gave me an incorrect order with items missing, but we're generally very kind about it. I am dedicated to the Halal guys and love their food not only as a New York City moment, but has an East Coast affordable standard. The food is well spiced and filling. Their white sauce feels decadent and the hot sauce packets will sear your taste buds depending on your personal chemistry. I've loved this meal for well over a decade and I'm so glad that they also deliver.

Super friendly staff and fast service. I've been a Halal Guys fan for years and the chicken platter never disappoints. Can't help to douche my meal with white sauce. Haha

Order: - Small Chicken Platter (5/5) - Regular Combo Platter (5/5) Pros: - Restaurant version of the infamous halal cart in NYC - Great tasting food - Quick service Cons: - More expensive than the same platter at the original cart Overall: Who doesn't love The Halal Guys?! While it is a bit more expensive than the original cart in NYC, the store locations serve up just as tasty food!

I have been going to the trucks in NYC since 2004 and this is the first restaurant I've been to in NJ. I must admit I prefer this over the trucks. Although the experience isn't the same as going up to trucks but the portions are better and did not have to cross the bridge to satisfy my cravings. To me, it actually tastes a lot better than the trucks in terms of freshness. Just getting to this location is kind of tricky since 22 is pretty busy but can't complain because getting to NYC is busy and parking is too.

    Chicken Shawarma & Chicken Platter

I ordered a small platter and felt I got a good amount of food. I got the chicken and the chicken shawarma and really didn't taste much difference between the two. But the chicken did have a good flavor to it. The sauces were pretty good. The garlic and tahini sauce were really good. Also got the white sauce on the side. The white sauce was ok in comparison to garlic sauce. And the hot sauce was a nice spicy sauce. Overall pretty good and tasty.

Located in the heart of Cranford, this intimate yet homelike restaurant features a hospitable staff that takes the time to explain the menu, making the entire experience feel so warm and inviting. They offer a comprehensive menu ranging from lamb and chicken to shawarma, seafood , falafel, and so much more. Since they are a BYOB establishment, they will gladly open and serve your bottle for you without any hassle. For starters, we opted for the dip sampler, which includes pita and three distinct spreads. The Mouhammara is my personal favorite; it's crafted from red peppers with a pomegranate syrup that adds a hint of sweetness, while crushed walnuts provide an incredible texture. Next is the Baba Ghanouj, a roasted eggplant dip with garlic and tahini that creates a savory, slightly smoky, and velvety delight. Finally, it includes their classic homemade hummus, which is a classic and delicious choice. I love that you don't have to choose, you truly get the best of all three varieties. For our main course, we ordered the Old City Mix. It's a generous portion for two that typically comes with a garden salad and rice. I personally prefer the greens, so I swapped the rice for two garden salads tossed in a zesty minty vinaigrette. The platter features kafta, shish tawook, shish kebab, lamb chops, shawarma, and four falafels, all served on a bed of pita with tahini and garlic sauces as the finishing touch. Everything is remarkably fresh and seasoned perfectly. The falafel is crispy on the exterior and fluffy on the inside, the meats are grilled to your liking, and the salad perfectly balances the rich platter. I thoroughly enjoy this spot for both lunch and dinner and am even looking into their catering for my next party. Do yourself a favor and visit them soon!

I was the last to eat, so I was surprised that it was still warm and not soggy. Packaging was executed very well for delivery. The shawarma had juicy and crispy pieces. Nicely seasoned. The wrap also had tomatoes and I believe pickled turnips. Turnips were pretty acidic and salty which made them poignant on their own; however, they were excellent in the sandwich as they provided a perfect compliment to the savory meat. I think the laffa was lightly fried and pressed which made it very sturdy. It great introduction to Egyptian food for those who enjoy burritos. Everything was delicious, but I'll leave the food writing to the Yelpers with more sophisticated palates than I. (Actually, I take that back--the fresh-baked pita was amazing and I would eat it with/for every meal if I could.) The real reason I wanted to leave a review the service, which went above and beyond. Let me start by saying that Al Basha takeout has a wonderfully efficient order-number-based system for managing the hundreds of orders they get on a daily basis. But if, say, the person who placed the order sent you to pick up the food with the wrong order number, you're going to struggle, and that's not the restaurant's fault. With that prelude and without getting into the details, we'll just say there was a user error issue with my order that led to a mix-up and a very late pick-up. Everyone from the Al Basha staff with whom I interacted could not have handled it any better. They were very apologetic, not because they did anything wrong (to be clear, they didn't), but because they were disappointed our meal hadn't gone well and wanted to fix that. The top priority of the manager with whom I dealt was making sure that my wife--it was Mothers' Day--got the best meal possible, and made sure to send me home with fresh bread and a treat for the moms. It was true hospitality, and greatly appreciated. TLDR version: great food, excellent service, out-of-this-world pita, and make darned sure you have the right order number.

The chicken kebab was dry and the shawarma was a bit too sour for my liking (not sure if they squeezed lemon on it or something). The kofta was okay but nothing spectacular. The filet mignon, was a major let down. My server didn't ask how we'd like it cooked, which is medium rare for my family. It came back well done. He said everyone usually prefers it to be well done, but I think that's a mistake that shouldn't be made and preference should always be asked, especially with steak. We asked for it to be swapped, and it still came back well done. When we let them know again, they brought it back a little on the rare side, which is fine for my family, but had it been another family, not so sure. I'm sure they have hundreds of orders for the char grilled meets, so I'm a little confused on why the technique has not already been established My favorite dish had to be the makanik - which is pan seared lamb sausages finished with sweet and tangy pomegranate molasses. I usually don't like lamb because of the gamey flavor but these sausages didn't have that. I didn't taste much of the pomegranate molasses. The arugula & beet salad would've been good if the pomegranate molasses vinaigrette was less sweet. The stuffed grape leaves were also a bit too sour. The lemon was just taking over the entire flavor profile. I didn't really taste the tomato or parsley. The falafel platter was good but nothing different than other falafels that I've had. The mint lemonade was so refreshing. Almost everyone in the restaurant had one and I understand why. The mint is not overpowering I had high expectations because I've seen this place on instagram but I'm afraid they were not met. Service was good, but the food definitely needs some work. There's valet parking, which i recommend because it's hard to find street parking
