My husband and I went here initially just to get a drink and check the place out. I looked at the…read moremenu and decided to take a chance, even though some of the food items were...risky..in such a small place in such a small town. MAN were we pleasantly surprised. Grant puts ALL his love into his food and it shows!! We had the bone marrow and a BLT. I have to say BEST BLT I've ever had and that is saying a lot cause it's my favorite sandwich. The bacon was insanely thick pork belly and even the tomato was thick cut & juicy. Grant was loading the bone marrow up with sea salt before broiling and I was thinking "enough salt already," but it was PERFECTION. John made the drinks and they were also delicious! I had an Aviation cocktail (one of my favorites) and it was not too sweet; perfectly balanced. I do wish this place had some outdoor seating easily accessible for when it cools down a bit, but it was really such a positive experience we don't even care; we WILL be back. DO NOT go in here expecting to leave quickly or get a "cheap meal." It is a place to savor, enjoy the flavors, and pay for what you are getting. If you are a foodie, you will LOVE it!!! GREAT addition to Taylor, thank goodness!!

We enjoyed the drinks and food was good but we all agreed they lost a lot of money not coming around to get us more drinks. Our first order came out but during the two hours we stayed I kept having to get the one server's, they had working the front, attention by waving my arms. Their problem is they need more attentive servers. As for the overall feel, it was a little loud but we enjoyed the drinks, when we had some.

What a lovely gem hidden in downtown round rock! My friends and I have been coming here for the…read morepast two years and are friends with the owner! This place is family owned which I love about it! On game days they often serve chips or hot dogs along with amazing drinks! On Friday nights they have a DJ where everyone flocks to hear his Latin beats at 9pm but not me because I leave at 9 haha. The daughter of the owner is Kimmy and she is really fun and energetic! I gave it one more star because of her alone! Parking is sometimes an issue but where is it not when you got to downtown round rock?! Haha I will be back here in a few weeks! Be sure to try their cucumber drink or their Mexican candy shot! The music gets very loud which is why I took away a star and leave at 9.

From the outside Coco's Lounge looks depressing…read more The decor is dark and totally old school. It is tucked away in a back corner. It looks like you could stage "Long Day's Journey into Night" there - A four act Eugene O'Neill tragedy that takes place in a loser bar. * * * First impressions are really wrong here. This is a fantastic fun place !!! * * * Everything I said about the decor is true - But then that description applies to dive bars all across Central Texas. What makes this place hum is the bartender. She is a Comet - a Meteor and an Absolute Force of Nature! I never got her name - but I spent all night watching her in action. What a superstar! She mews like a cat! She YOWLS like a cat - and that does not necessarily mean she is unhappy. She keeps a gong that she bangs at random intervals. There is a bell by the door that she can ring if she doesn't feel like going back to the gong. I think she designed most of the shots herself. (I was on a bourbon night - but I am dying of curiosity to try some of her shots.) Nearly everyone who can sits at the bar - and she chats up each and every person. She is in constant action and at any given nanosecond - she can be anywhere in the bar. Her mission in life is to be the hostess with the mostest. And she really IS the hostess with the mostest. I sat at a back table, drank my bourbon, watched TV and watched the bartender at work. Mellow, sleepy, pleasant stuff. The people in front were talking to each other and engaging with the bartender's rapid fire repartee. The barstools could be as mellow or as dynamite as a customer wanted them to be. There are good times to be had here! I wanna go back.

Really fantastic experience!…read more The cocktail menu is diverse and fun. The quality of drinks was excellent. My favorite part was the DJ was also playing electric guitar to accompany some of the songs in his lineup. It was really cool. I've never seen a DJ do that before. The whole time we were there the service and ambience and tastes were top-notch, but the DJ piece really created a memorable experience that leaves me wanting to come back.

But it was more important to the Powder Room that the next group got their table on time, apparently. The drinks took soooo long, we got ONE round in, and were asked to leave the table before our second round arrived. They had no issues when taking our second round order while we were seated, but we were asked to leave the table immediately after. This round also took forever and we drank it standing, crowded, in everyone's way. I was embarrassed as it was my birthday, and I was taking a group of 7 other people - new to Austin - here to check out what was one of my favorite spots. I was bragging about it and chose it over other spots on their list. They hated it. I'm disappointed. Our server was great to us and apologetic about the service bar.

Loose Screw is a pretty chill spot with an impressive selection of craft beers on tap. The seating options are diverse, ranging from tables and stools upfront to a more lounge-like setup in the back with sofas and such. They organize their menu by number, which makes sense given the wide variety of options available. Just give them the number when you order, and you're good to go. Service was friendly and prompt on the busy day that I went. You can take your beer to go and explore the rest of the building/check out other vendors or stay put and check out the funky signage adorning the walls. It seems family-friendly. I saw several groups with young children. So, if you're bringing little ones along, this might be a plus. There are a few small snacks available for purchase or you can head down the hall for a bite elsewhere.
