They don't skip on the garnishes either so every bite is chef's kiss. My kid loves their regular burrito with either carne asada or chicken. It's simple but on point. Just rice, beans, cheese, and meat. But every ingredient is cooked well and packed with flavor to make the perfect combination. The agua fresca is delicious. The pineapple is our favorite. It's so cold and almost frozen which is perfect for this Sacramento heat. This is hands down the BEST Mexican food in Roseville. Trust, your stomach and wallet won't be disappointed!

It's convenient having this food truck positioned on my commute to my mom's house after work. In an…read morearea otherwise lacking in food stands, they offer a setup on a small dirt lot featuring a picnic table and chairs if you want to eat on-site, as well as an extensive menu you can order from via QR code or in person. The customer service is gracious, and they even kindly accommodated us as their very last late order one night. The food can be a bit hit or miss depending on the day and the dish, leading to a 3.5-star experience overall. Their carne asada is a consistent standout. It's tender, perfectly cooked, and free of any gristle, making it a reliable choice. The seafood is also exceptional, as both the mixed seafood and shrimp ceviche tostadas we tried were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. My mom is also a fan of their freshly made flour tortilla chips. However, inconsistency with the seasoning and preparation holds them back from a higher rating. The rice & beans are occasionally over salted, which unfortunately happened with a chicken burrito and a rolled taco plate, even though they were perfect on a different visit. The quesabirria taco plate had nicely seasoned meat but suffered from being a bit too salty, soggy, and lacking enough cheese. Similarly, the dry version of the Hot Cheetos burrito missed the mark because the Cheetos were slightly stale and the fries inside were mealy rather than crispy. Their excellent carne asada still shined. I want to emphasize that I'm not trying to be salty towards Barrios because of my own personal preferences and I will continue to return. I always notice a steady crowd of patrons during the dinner rush, so my critique should just be taken with a grain of salt!

We started by grabbing my wife an Apple Crisp Oatmilk Latte at Fig Tree Coffee. The owners were super friendly. After exploring the food vendors, we settled on Cousins Maine Lobster. Our little one loved the tots and dancing in Daddy's arms to that Bruno Mars cover band Uptown Funk. Next we visited the car show, where we were greeted by a bunch of amazingly well-kept classics. My favorite is still the Wild Bill Tattoo van that spewed flames from the exhaust. Lastly, we went back down the street and got to know some of the vendors. The gals at Delivery Day Bag gave our son 3 pairs of baby socks for free. Coming out to Downtown Roseville was a breath of fresh air from what we normally do. I especially love to support local businesses and events like this are a great opportunity to do just that. We'll be back for more!

I think we've been coming here for about seven years, mainly because hubby comes for the car show. My original review was under the name Johnny Five Productions. They've been the master mind who's put this event together for many years. It's an event held every Tuesday from late May til the end of August. Vernon Street is blocked off for cars, food trucks and vendors, wide array of your typical street vendors, kiddie section and live bands that put on a free performance. If you don't like eating from food vendors, you can always get a decent meal at one of many restaurants that are on Vernon Street. From the Monk's Cellar, The Place, Nela's Mexican, and Vernon Street Grill. It's a great place to hang out with friends and family. We usually come to hang out with the car club but enjoy all that this event has to offer.

Vampires, Steampunkers & Pirates, OH MY!…read more SITREP What a BLOODY good time at the 2013 Vampire-Pirate-Steampunker-(name your favorite costume category) BALL! Hosted at the Placer County Fairgrounds in Roseville, CA, it was an eclectic & eccentric event of magnificent proportions! Even though it IS a "Vampire Ball" ("per se", as kids in SouthPark chirp it), there was plenty of action for many different themes, and it all started on the Red Carpet experience complete with paparazzi photographers (including me!) THE SETUP Indeed - theme was "Dark Shadows" parody, starring Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfieffer, et al, as well as an homage to the 60's TV show inspiring it. And this production featured promoter-hostess Shannon McCabe's uber-creative "Visionary Living Theme Sets", where guests at the event could interact with live actors playing the characters from the movie Dark Shadows who were in full costume. In some of the sets, you experienced the Collinswood Manor, the docks of Collinsport and the family's fish cannery. We even had PIRATE SHIPS cause there is that tie in with the Dark Shadows movie with one of the female vampire characters. VAMPIRE BALL TRADITION IN ROSEVILLE-SACRAMENTO AREA This has now become a great tradition in the Sacramento Valley, bringing both participants and guests from the Bay Area, L.A., Seattle and the East Coast. * Last year's 2012 Vampire Ball's theme was "Interview With A Vampire", complete with the Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt cast of characters, and which was also held at the Placer County Fairgrounds. * And the year before's 2011 Vampire Ball's theme was "Bram Stoker's DRACULA", complete with the Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves cast of characters, though this event was actually held at THE NECROPOLIS (the dungeon space that was below Cafe Americain) in Old Sacramento. [The Vampire Ball was moved to Roseville because too many people was causing the venue space to burst at the seams.] * I can't wait to see what next year's theme will be! [*crosses his fingers* Please let it be Buffy. Please NOT Twilight. Please let it be Buffy. Please NOT Twilight.] ;) COLLABORATION OF VILLAINS PROMOTING VILLAINY *& WENCHING) As alluded to above, the Vampire Ball joined forces with the dynamic teams of creative groups of people: * STEAMPUNKS! Such as: (1) the League of Proper Villains; and, (2) The Sacramento Steampunks Society. To that end, the Steampunks had a "WARNING: Point of No Return Area" - the danger being that you were welcomed into a visual vortex of all things Steampunk, but many festival goers found it addictive and were transformed into their new reality. * PIRATES! Did I mention there were PIRATES? Hell Yeah! The harbor of "Collinsport" played host to Pirates, the esteemed groups "The Rogues of the Golden Coast" and the "Pirates of Sacramento". Complete with live mini-cannons! [Look at those cute little buggers in my pictures!] It was a *BLAST!* MUSIC & DANCING Inside the large building playing host to our Vampire shenanigans, the MUSIC NEVER STOPPED! My DJ buddies DJs Bryan Hawk, David Vandyke and Duc get the beats pounding and the dance area filled with lights, lasers, and wall screens of color that melted reality into a fantasy of dance, sight and sound. THOR'S HORSE...ER UNICORN! Vlad the Giant Rocking Unicorn was again a special guest at the Vampire Ball, and boy did he get his back broken in by all sorts of Vampire & Pirate patrons wanting to ride that bucking equine! ME! A JUDGE! OH MY! This year, the ball put the "VAMP" back into "Vampire Pin Up". For some reason, the promoters thought I was qualified to be a JUDGE for the VAMP Pageant. I was all too happy to accept that responsibility (AND it meant a FRONT ROW SEAT which I made good use of to take LOTS of pictures. And I mean, LOTS - dam well uploaded 360!) In addition, it was awesome to see the return of the 2013 VAMP Pin Up Queen, JEZEBEL (aka Jennifer Mathews)! She was there to crown the new 2014 VAMP Pin Up Queen winner and it was an awesome time. LADY LUCK CAR CLUB Celebrity pin up model and founder of the Lady Luck Car Club, BETTY ANN, also returned as one of the pageant judges, along with her posse of beautiful women and their cars! SUCH FUN! OUTSIDE BAND STAND It was a treat to see friends Adam Jones & Ashley of the band Savi0r play the bandstand along with the featured headlining band Sacramento's own, New Pioneers with lead singer Bruce Kubel. FOOD & VENDORS There was a plethora of vendors sharing their wares. I must give a shout-out to my stalwart friend & compadre Nick Roberts for sharing his artistic talents and art pieces for people to enjoy. KUDOS Props to Shannon McCabe, Wendy Williams and staff & volunteers for their energetic hard work in putting on such an AMAZEBALLS event! THE LOWDOWN The 2013 Vampire Ball "Dark Shadows" by Shannon McCabe was indeed a Festival of Fun for Vampires, Pirates, Steampunkers & Devils like me!

I don't even usually like pickles on burgers but these were mild and didn't overpower the burger at all. My husband thinks the sauce was a tad overpowering, but he admits that's being nit picky and that it was an excellent burger. We were disappointed that they didn't have fries...so I want to document it in case it becomes a pattern in the reviews, but the burger was good enough I can't take away a star for the lack of fries. The pictures make them look like the perfect fry as well. Oh and the price! Same price as Smashburger but for food truck quality! Other food trucks would charge $14-20 for this kind of burger. We'll definitely return!

They were cleaning out the truck and throwing away trash at the picnic area we rented! The truck did not seem clean or ready to cater a party. Then the employees were taking smoke breaks during our event standing next to the kids bounce houses. I understand everyone needs a break, but we had people waiting for food and it was not an appropriate spot for a smoke break. The food was good but it took a while for them to serve everyone. Some people waited 40 minutes for their burger. For an event with that many people they were not organized.

It's super easy to spot in the parking lot near the Nugget in West Roseville (close to NuYo Frozen Yogurt). And there's plenty of parking. The guy working was super nice and went over the cookie options. My little wanted the S'mores Cookie! It came in a cute little box! She couldn't even wait...it was half gone by the time we got home! She said it's messy but so good!!!! I ordered the Dubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup. It's offered in 3 sizes (small, medium and large) ranging from $10-$20 (if I remember correctly). I picked medium! The cup full of strawberries is layered with chocolate, pistachio sauce and crunchy knafeh (kafi). My only suggestion is to eat it immediately. I waited to get home and the chocolate was hardening! Still yummy. Just not as delightful as creamy warm chocolate. My little is already talking about trying a different cookie!
