Tried Eric's BBQ for the first time today, and man was it good!…read more We ordered the 2-meat plate with tri-tip and St. Louis ribs, along with potato salad and mac 'n' cheese. Everything had the perfect amount of smoky flavor, and it paired perfectly with Eric's BBQ sauce. The ribs were cooked perfectly with a crisp outside and a tender, juicy inside--exactly how I like them. They honestly didn't even need sauce, but adding a little BBQ sauce to a few bites just made them even better. The tri-tip was packed with flavor, and Eric definitely didn't hold back on the portions. There was plenty of meat on the plate, which I definitely appreciated. Both sides were excellent, too. The potato salad was packed with flavor. Potato salad is always hit or miss for me because so many places under-season it, but this one was spot on. My wife and I also both enjoyed the mac 'n' cheese. She prefers hers a little cheesier and creamier, while Eric's version is more baked and less runny. Personally, I loved it exactly the way he makes it. The service was quick and only took a few minutes to get my order. His location is convenient on on the side of the road for an easy pull in and exit. Overall, I really enjoyed my first visit and will definitely be back soon. I'm already looking forward to trying the tri-tip sandwich next, and I'll probably add an order of baked beans to see how those stack up. If you're in the Lincoln area and craving some quality BBQ, Eric's BBQ is absolutely worth checking out.

After seeing Rachelle's photos of her enjoying her Turkey Pesto I was hankering for some crepes. I ordered the Turkey Bacon crepe, a little leaner and lower-calorie alternative to pork bacon (not much healthier, though, since it's still a processed food with preservatives). The crepe included mozzarella cheese and egg with an option to include avocado, which I opted out. According to their Instagram page the price of the turkey bacon crepe was $12, however, at the farmers market all their sweet and savory crepes were priced around $3 more. The crepe was filling. It's in a busy plaza, but there's plenty of parking available. Inside is decorated nicely and has plenty of seating, and I was greeted right away. I ordered take out at the counter and while I was there they were offering lunch portions in addition to their regular portions. I ended up ordering Thai Tea, Tom Kha Soup, Green Curry (lunch portion) and Pad Eggplant (full order) along with rice to go with the Pad Eggplant. The lunch portions are a bit smaller, but come with rice, while the regular portions are larger and a bit more expensive and rice is extra. I took a seat and waited for my order. They brought my Thai tea out right away and I sipped on it while I waited. The tea was tasty and had good flavor without being overly sweet. As I waited there were a bunch of people stopping in to pick up take-out orders. It didn't take too long to receive my order and it was well packed- in fact, since I ordered my Tom Kha soup with tofu and chicken they even had an extra small container so the full portion, with add ons would fit. I thought this was very considerate. All the food was still hot once I returned home and it was packed very securely. My favorite was the Pad Eggplant, on the menu it's listed as choice of: Chicken, Pork, Beef, Tofu, Mixed Vegetables, Shrimp, or Calamari | Stir-fried eggplant, bell peppers, carrots, onions, green onions, sweet basil, and your choice of protein sautéed in Grandma's special sauce. The Grandma's special sauce is the reason I ordered it and it was delicious. The veggies were fresh, the sauce was flavorful, and I ordered mine with pork and it was great. The green curry was good, but didn't blow me away- this is something I typically order at Thai restaurants and the curry had a very soupy consistency that was thinner. The veggies were fresh and delicious, and didn't soak in the curry flavor, they held their own fresh veggie flavor. I prefer my curries thicker, but it was still tasty. The Tom Kha soup was also good, but again thinner than my favorite spots and lighter in flavor. I also noticed they had slices of ginger in the soup which leant to flavor but between picking out the ginger and bay leaves there was more pieces that could have been removed by the restaurant instead of serving them. I would go back to try more items from the menu, and would definitely get the Pad Eggplant again.

My all time favorite, the Pineapple Fried Rice was right on target and super good. The past couple of times the flavor and amount of pineapple had diminished some, but this was back to awesome status. Usually I get one of the larger salads too, but this time opted for a smaller Cucumber Salad which was perfect. Fresh with an excellent variety of veggies to really compliment the meal off well. I got medium spice for nearly everthing. It was fine for me although quite apparent. I worried about Ed as he's more sensitive. I did like the chicken and it wasn't like some buffets that just use the scrappy pieces for the buffet like backs and rib cages of the chicken. They had the thighs, breasts must be used for something else. The rice was light and fluffy like it's supposed to be and the Tikka Masala was good on it. I had my fill and waddled on out full of tandoori chicken. That's one dish I have no idea how to cook, so I'll do a buffet and eat all I want!

We visited Crooked Lane Brewery just to sample this family owned and operated food truck superstar. The sandwich board menu had some delish options so I'm thankful our party of 6 was able to order the perfect cross section of food. I chose the chicken philly, hubs got the ribs, kids were cheeseburgers all the way. My 75 years young aunt dared to try the jalapeño poppers. We all shared a bit to get a taste of everything. Chicken Philly was pretty darn tatsy. The bread was soft and fresh. I'm usually only a fan of the cole slaw I make but i had to try this bacon cole slaw. It was simply perfect! I would have never thought I would ever utter those words about cole slaw...pigs must be flying somewhere. Cheeseburgers were solid. Definitely a crowd pleaser. Poppers were good. Not the best ever but creamy and just enough kick. Ribs were "off the hook" said my grill master husband. He bbq's about 4 times a week and he can make anything on the grill taste fire!! The woman handling the cashier is very sweet and accommodating. She is also the one that takes care of some of the "cooked items". Coffee is absolutely affordable and pretty good. They have some selection of the muffins and pastries, as well as cookies. Definitely coming back because it is very chill.
