I was in the area for a wedding and stopped by this café for breakfast. It's a small, cozy spot located at the Miner Camp, just a 2-minute walk from our campsite. I ordered scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, and added pancakes for an extra $4. Everything was tasty and hit the spot. The coffee was good too.The service is excellent and food deliver in a reasonable time! If you're looking for a solid breakfast around here, this place is a great choice -- can't go wrong.

Love this place...just moved to the area and wanted to check out what breakfast options we had. So glad we stopped I had an amazing PB Mocha , the country breakfast burrito was HUGE and split it and still couldn't finish. The perfect amount of country gravy, we also tried a blueberry danish which was the freshest bakery item I've ever had and we had to try the Red Bull infusion drink and it was even better than Dutch Brothers definitely recommend

My friends and I were in town for a wedding and stayed in Foresthill. We weren't sure where to go for breakfast and came across The Happy Mouth. We were so glad to come in here! The vibe is definitely welcoming and casual - which is exactly what we were looking for. We each got to peruse the menu, which was pretty extensive, and everyone found something they liked. Most of us opted for breakfast but a couple people in our group wanted more lunch. The food and beverages we ordered came out quick and the servings were hearty! The crowd favorites were the breakfast sandwiches, fruit smoothies, lattes, and veggie egg scramble. My only regret is it taking a muffin to go!

Whole double burger. Huge & satisfing.

Just had a massive and delicious double cheese burger at Mega's. Grilled double patty ,properly seasoned with fresh tomatoes, lettuce & red onion. The Mrs was smart & ordered the single burger( no fries on the menu, maybe no deep fryer?)This Local eatery serves a good breakfast all day long as well.

    New and fun Drinks!

5 Stars - A Must-Try Spot! Hands down, the best pastrami sandwich I've ever had. The flavors are unreal! The Happy Mouth always brings fun, fresh energy with new and exciting drinks. Their newest addition--dirty sodas--are absolutely awesome. Can't wait to come back!

Great place to grab breakfast or lunch... just don't expect fast service. The Happy Mouth is the former "Mega's Cafe" and I have been going here for years. Ownership changed around mid August 2024. So, if you've visited prior to this- I suggest you check them out again! I think they kept most of the good and improved the things that needed improvement. A majority of the menu is the same, with some items added and some removed. For example, there used to be a "smothered" breakfast burrito that is no longer on the menu. They have expanded the drink selections significantly and have a bunch of different "Red Bull Infused" drinks. I've heard these are very good... but energy drinks aren't my thing anymore. This is definitely still a small town place. You walk in and you can smell the food cooking because the ventilation has never been very good. You'll smell like the food after you visit even if you get your order to go. Depending on what you order, expect to wait 10-20 minutes for your food. They don't do fast food, they do good food as fast as they can. I think the old owners used to have this posted. Overall, serving times have definitely improved. When I would visit the place before the new owners, there would be times I'd have to wait over 40 minutes! I've since been a few times and it's never taken over 20. They also used to serve everything in styrofoam containers (even if you didn't order to go) which I always through was weird and uneconomical. They now will serve food in trays and sometimes paper plates. They now use clear plastic containers for to go orders. I think it's a better option than styrofoam. The place really is very good! My go-to is always the country breakfast burrito. It has all the breakfast meats along with cheese, potatoes, and gravy. It's served with salsa (probably Pace or something similar) and sour cream. It is HUGE and for $12 also a great value. I've never been able to eat the whole thing so I usually just eat half and save the other half for the next day. It's very tasty and I think they switched the potatoes because the last one I got I noticed had red skinned potatoes... which made it even better. Do yourself a favor and try this burrito if you haven't... I'm sure you'll enjoy. I will also get a burger occasionally. I like the Wildfire Spicy burger because it comes with green chilis and spicy mayo. The burger is always cooked medium well and is very juicy (never dry), even though I believe the patties are previously frozen. I do like the new potato buns they use opposed to the old sesame buns when it was Mega's that were somewhat dry. I ordered with potato salad which was ok. The baked goods are all phenomenal. They are made from scratch and always fresh. Thank you Happy Mouth for having good food at a decent price! You definitely make my mouth (and my wallet) happy!

Biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage. Also, had a java chip Frappuccino.

I had the special (not on the menu, don't remember the name) Pork strips, mushroom gravy, spaetzle and a salad. Salad was interestingly unique with lettuce, carrots, warm cooked potatoe chunks, vinegar and oil dressing. Pretty tasty non breaded pork was tender, mushroom gravy had a nice salty ness to it, spaetzle was soft chewy porous egg pasta though tasteless by itself, good with the gravy mixed in. Mrs had the Hunter's Schnitzel. Essentially the same as my meal with a pounded, breaded thin pork patty. This was good with a fried crunch. Beer and wine served (Trumer German style Pilsner), couple of the owners friendly old dogs wandering around the bar seating, like eating at Grandma's house. Maybe on the pricey side but I think it was very fair for the quality they serve. On a Sunday afternoon it was a constant stream of customers, but they have some indoor seating and plenty of covered outdoor seating with misters. Ketchup and water dispenser available along with packaged condiments like more ketchup, mustard, mayo, and even malt vinegar. Names are called on the speaker and they have several windows to pick up at. Orders are placed inside or outside at the window. It's pretty neat and makes for a perfect blend of updated/nice with great old school charm. I ordered the Guido (pastrami burger), halfsies (family size of fries and onion rings, opted for waffle fries), and a vanilla twisty with heath bar. The Guido is excellent, but you have to know what you're in for. With the pastrami and the deli mustard, it tastes overwhelmingly like a pastrami sandwich and less like a burger. But the patty, cheese, and veggies do add something to it. It's also very messy, but it was delicious. The onion rings were excellent. They have that smooth batter style, sorta kinda like tempura. My wife prefers the panko style so she was more into the fries. For the fries, they were good but I'd probably opt for normal fries next time instead of waffle fries. I was expecting something somewhat similar to chick fil a, but these were a little on the thicker side and almost had the texture of potato wedges. I'm also not a big fry seasoning guy, and these were well seasoned. But that's a me thing. We still ate them all and you know when I come back I'm not leaving here without fries. The twisty was really good. I might be the only one, but I'm such a sucker for heath bar when I saw it on the menu I had to order it. The ice cream was really good quality. Had a great texture and taste. They were generous with the heath bar. I'm aware I took down a disgusting amount of food, but I think if I could change one thing I'd get the larger size of the twisty next time. It was really good. Wish they had a location closer than 30 mins up the hill, but that won't stop me. Note that my wife asked about the black bean patty and it has cheese in it so it is vegetarian but not dairy free or vegan. So if you go that way, there's that. Not much for you besides fries and dole whip.

I went w the Guido adding pastrami to their 1/3 lb patty. Their homemade burger sauce is a thousand island relative. Maybe a touch too much sauce but uber tasty. My wife had the Double D burger - double the patty!!! The waffle fries were well prepared and wonderfully seasoned - maybe some of the best fries seasoning in a long while. Mom took on the "cream" side w a Mocha Malt. It was thick and wonderful. The place is a counter order then pick up but that's just fine. It is nothing fancy inside but it gets the job done....Some small fly battles but great food. We will absolutely be coming back!
