Food and service were outstanding. And the never ending supply of peanuts that you tried onto the floor.

With everyone ordering something different, we got a good sense of their diverse menu. My salami sandwich was outstanding, easily one of the best I've had. Several others raved about their burgers, calling them the best they'd ever eaten. The menu also includes hot dogs, prepared hot food, and pizza. For those in a hurry, pre-packaged options are available. Despite our large group and other customers, the friendly staff efficiently handled our orders, getting our food to us much faster than a traditional sit-down restaurant could have. We enjoyed our meals at the outdoor picnic tables, taking in the stunning, panoramic views from high above the treetops. Whorton's Market is a must-visit in the area. The coffee bar is a standout: huge selection, top-notch equipment, and a steady stream of locals grabbing coffees, smoothies, and pastries. The pastries looked incredible (though I didn't try one myself), and my wife raved about her coffee,it was fantastic. I'd happily return just for those. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the ambiance. My hamburger and my wife's patty melt both had fresh veggies, soft bread, and surprisingly flavorful meat, but the patties were overcooked and extremely dry. Neither the burger bun nor the patty melt bread was toasted (not even lightly), which made a big difference especially for a patty melt, where that grilled texture is key. A little toasting would go a long way toward improving things. Overall, this place shines as a coffee and pastry spot (clearly what most people come for). For a full meal, it needs some tweaks. I'd go back for coffee/pastries, but probably not for burgers right now unless I customize my order. Service was very friendly however it took longer than expected. Having said that, this is place you want to linger. One last thing, they have an amazing selection of stickers that I happen to collect, and they are very reasonably priced!

It's more than just a market. Yes, they have the usual grocery and sundry items, but they also have clothes. Souvenirs. Some hardware items. Fishing and camping gear. They have a decent hot and cold deli, and they also do espresso drinks. I stopped by the deli, and I decided to have the pastrami on provolone with rye bread. It also came with the usual fixings, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and Dijon mustard.. I got my sandwich and took it out front to enjoy the nice day. The sandwich was huge! They were very generous with the pastrami, all of the Fixin's played very well with the pastrami, and I loved that rye bread. The bread didn't hold up to the sandwich perfectly, it was falling apart, just a little bit, but hey. It happens. It was just an absolutely excellent sandwich. I was going to stop at half, but it was so good, I finished the whole thing, and waddled away. The price for this great sandwich and a soda was extremely reasonable. Next time I'm up here, I will be back. Thanks.

The online ordering system was not working - it balked at payment - so I phoned them and ordered that way. On the day, we got a pile of plastic bags each labeled with our name, and inside mine I found my hot sandwich, still pretty warm, inside a foil wrapper. Mine was the Italian melt, lots of different kinds of meat plus provolone and a little onion and pepperocini and a mildly spicy marinara sauce lightly dabbed in. It was not too thick but nicely dense, as well as delicious, with a well chosen mix of ingredients. I didn't want too much bread, so I ordered it on marble rye, and that turned out to be fairly thin, not overwhelming, and also strongly and delightfully flavored. I'm not ordinarily big on deli sandwiches - I don't think they have much else - but this was a major find.

There is a bathroom that you must ask for a key to. Once 1:30 rolled around, I was excited to try my sandwich given the great reviews, then came 1:40, then 1:50, and I did not have my sandwich until around 1:55. I worked in a sandwich shop for 3 years, so I know sometimes a wait is unavoidable and can recall dealing with rude customers, so I did not approach the staff regarding the wait. They were trying their best to accommodate the orders. However-- 35 minutes for 2 sandwiches, I think, is a little excessive. In the end, my sandwiches were spectacular, genuinely well crafted, and met (maybe even surpassed) my expectations. When I got back to my car, I noticed the worker (owner?) gave me a full sandwich despite me ordering half. I wasn't sure if this was purposeful as means of saying "our bad", or just a mistake, but I will say it left me in better spirits. If you have some extra time to kill, with friends etc., this is a must try. However, if you are on ANY sort of time restriction, I would not recommend stopping here. I'm sure this is not always the case, but as a stop on a long drive, I did not consider an extra 45 minutes for a sandwich. If the owners are reading this, I truly mean well and hope you know a long wait is a sign of success. Growth is inevitable!
