So to find somewhere that makes us feel "right at home," is a blessing. My husband and daughter agreed, we had to come back. We returned yesterday for the second time but this time with our family (from ATL). We'd spoken (more like bragged) so much about our last experience, that they were just as excited as us to return. For mains, I ordered the pancetta wrapped cod and Star got the gnocchi. The gnocchi was delicious and pillowy, the tomato confit was quite salty on its own. My cod was well cooked and very flaky, I wish the pancetta was crispy. It seems like the pancetta was just wrapped around after the fish was cooked which I found odd. The ratatouille underneath was well seasoned and delicious. Our server was super sweet and attentive, the service was great.

I lived in Maryland for 30 years and had crab bisque many, many times. This was the first crab bisque that wasn't tomato based - it was a brownish, creamy version. I might have been fine with the 'creamy version', but it lacked any crab flavor and had no crab in it - not one shred. I've never had any fish soup that had no fish in it. I took a few spoonfuls and left it. My partner tried it and came to the same conclusion. The entrees came next - I got the Seared Branzino and my partner got the Shrimp and Scallops. The Seared Branzino was okay - there were bites where I had a very fishy taste - and it was a very small piece of fish. My partner's Shrimp and Scallops came with steamed garlic spinach and mashed potatoes. The Scallops were tender and cooked perfectly - they were in a delicious sauce and had a very nice sear. However, the Shrimp were tough and chewy - we were both very surprised to have one item (scallops) so good, and another (shrimp) on the same plate, that was so bad. The steamed garlic spinach and mashed potatoes were very good. While our Caesar salad, Scallops and side dishes were very good, the rest of the meal was lacking.

I told them that was not what we discussed and made it clear I'm allergic to tomatoes. I was told it wouldn't be a problem to make the fish I actually requested. Instead of remaking the dish, they took the same fish back, removed the toppings, left the tomato residue and brought it back out with the same side; including cold rice. After I clearly stated an allergy, serving the same fish with the tomato residue is unacceptable. This was careless and disappointing. If a customer mentions a food allergy, the dish should be remade, not modified and sent back out.

We also got hush puppy and fries, both sides, hot and tasty. Saw the mussels and clams and shrimp in the display case for other options they offer as well as four sizes of crabs to choose from. You can buy just one or a whole dozen. Just soft drinks were available, but you can BYOB. I highly recommend this small hidden gem for a crab fix. Didn't realize they have been in my neighborhood for the past year, don't overlook this crab house as I have. We plan to be back soon and often.
