Sorry but I had higher hopes. I was surprised. First, our waitress was very good and we left her a 23% tip. The food wasn't her fault. Cream of crab soup. Wasn't soup it was batter. Taste wasn't bad but you could eat it with a fork. Ceasar salad was so salty i couldn't finish it. Dont know why so salty. Cauliflower wings were pretty good. My brisket was like my mothers day old dry pot roast. Potatoes had no flavor and dry!! Over cooked. Corn bread was so dry you couldn't pick it up, just crumbled and fell apart. Kids friend had crab and shrimp pasta. It actually looked good and they said it was. I did not taste that. So all in all $110 for this meal Uhg Maybe a new chef today

We had Maddie the server several times over the last few yrs even going back to the previous restaurant. Shes great. Food is spot on and the scenery from the seats is beautiful looking at the water.

Substance in unclean bathroom. Not Busy!

New name... new disappointment. My family has been coming to Crabby Dicks for over 20 years. Other than a few minor things, our experiences have always been exceptional enough for us to keep coming back. Tonight was the first time we have had the "pleasure" of dining at Dolly Spankers since the name change. Boy, what an experience! We were quickly seated upon arrival, in a dining room with very bright lights, similar to a gas station or grocery store, that quickly dulled the mood. Our server Ella came right over to take our drink order, which unfortunately came out incorrectly. Accidents happen, no big deal. when I attempted to order the Snapper Soup (which was a deciding factor when choosing to come to Dolly Spankers) I was promptly told that they had none. So I ordered the cream of crab soup, which was delicious, and my wife ordered the Maryland crab soup which was very salty. My wife had the crab cakes which have always been delicious in the past, but were found lacking tonight. They were very dry and fishy tasting. I had the fish and chips, another traditional favorite. The fish was similar in appearance, texture, and taste to grocery store frozen fish sticks! It was no longer the fantastic fried fish fillet that Crabby Dicks was known for. It was disgusting. My French fries were salty to the point of being inedible and the rancid oil flavor only heightened my displeasure. The coleslaw was also dry and flavorless. On our way out, the restrooms were found to be unclean and in disrepair. Unfortunately, I do not think that we will be back to Dolly Spankers in the future. R. I. P. CRABBY DICKS

I aggressively despise this place. why would you name food after genitalia. that will never not be weird to me. my peel and eat shrimp was great. fries were great. crab balls -__- were good. the egg roll thing was also good. everyone finished all their food so how much can I complain. the restaurant itself is the cabin of a ship or something idk but the decor is appropriate. waitstaff was nice. I think the owner or manager was coming around greeting us. not a bad experience. just not my vibe personally lol. also there were no vegetarian options sadly but it's a seafood restaurant no biggie.

Food could improve, I had fried shrimp and chips. Tasted day old. Old food. But staff were extremely friendly and ambience was cozy and nice

Ask the Community - Dolly Spankers

Do they offer gluten free options at the Crabby Dicks in Delaware City?

While they don't list items as such on the menu ... they have a selection of Steamer Pots and other steamed or broiled seafood that would be gluten free.

Old school; low key, wood paneling, classic bar, pitchers of beer, brown paper covered tables with a roll of paper towels, mallets, a shaker full of Old Bay, and a bucket for the emptied shells. It doesn't get much better when you're looking for great crabs. They only serve #1s and at market price. They come out on a tray, they're coated in Old Bay and steaming hot, and come with optional melted butter and/or a vinegary crab sauce though they don't need a drop of either they're so flavorful and sweet. Our server was very kind and seemed to know all the locals, and she told us the nearby location the crabs were from. Be aware that you can't put tip on a credit card and they no longer have an ATM. If you go, you shouldn't expect fluff, frills, or fuss, but you can count on the best crabs you can find based on our experiences. We ordered 1 1/2 dozen crabs, a basket of fries, 3 pitchers of beer, two water bottles, 2 single beers - one draft and one bottle, and our total bill was $190 ($100/dozen for crabs). Also be aware that they have crabs Thursday through Sunday, and you can call to reserve the the # of crabs you want. We learned the hard way last year that they can sell out quickly based on reservations. I almost forgot to mention they bring out ice cold frosty beer mugs! Cheers!

Eating crabs is a social event and we always had them for a crowd. However, I'm on my own now and seldom have company for dinner, but today I said heck with friends. I want some crabs. These folks sell a Bay Box consisting of 3 perfectly seasoned crabs, about a half pound or more of shrimp, and a tasty ear of roasted local corn on a cob. $20! Perfect for my appetite and wallet. I'm thinking I could do this at least once a week. I can't tell you how wonderful these folks are. Great food AND service so I am going to get names to share with you tomorrow. I think it's really important to recognize people who make our lives better and share their kindness so freely. It's a cute little, colorful building with a big front covered porch and shaded outdoor tables for eating. Comfy. My new go-to crab house for singles or a crowd.
