Got bad Review. Went to Dolly Spankers for lunch. Got Crab cluster (1) and Mussels as an appetizer 35.00. Ate one mussel immediately in napkin tries a 2nd same thing didn't say nothing to Karin she did the same told bartender they were bad. said ok didn't offer anything else. 2 beers later get bill 35.00 for one small crab cluster I complained 10 min later manager comes let me go see comes back took 10 percent off 3.50 off. I almost lost it said we ate the mussels 10 more minutes additional 7.00. i guess they thought we were trying to get free SHITTY SEAFOOD. Left and went to the Augustine Tavern (open 7 days a week) for an unbelievable lunch. Save yourself the trouble if you're going to Dolly Spankers drive the extra 10 min to Augustine Tavern. There is ALOT going on here! This is the old Crabby Dicks but under a new name. The menu is a bit different but still features a good variety of seafood. There are some things I'd have again and some things I would not. The mussels and sides were amazing. The wings and Brussels had an interesting flavor I would say. And some of the mains were good, others lacked. I went to a staff happy hour and was impressed with how well the staff handled such a big group. They were as timely as they could be and remembered everything! The only problem we had is that dishes and empty plates were not being cleared at all! So a pile up happened. Sorry but I had higher hopes. I was surprised. First, our waitress was very good and we left her a 23% tip. The food wasn't her fault. Cream of crab soup. Wasn't soup it was batter. Taste wasn't bad but you could eat it with a fork. Ceasar salad was so salty i couldn't finish it. Dont know why so salty. Cauliflower wings were pretty good. My brisket was like my mothers day old dry pot roast. Potatoes had no flavor and dry!! Over cooked. Corn bread was so dry you couldn't pick it up, just crumbled and fell apart. New name... new disappointment. My family has been coming to Crabby Dicks for over 20 years. Other than a few minor things, our experiences have always been exceptional enough for us to keep coming back. Tonight was the first time we have had the "pleasure" of dining at Dolly Spankers since the name change. Boy, what an experience! We were quickly seated upon arrival, in a dining room with very bright lights, similar to a gas station or grocery store, that quickly dulled the mood. Our server Ella came right over to take our drink order, which unfortunately came out incorrectly. Accidents happen, no big deal. when I attempted to order the Snapper Soup (which was a deciding factor when choosing to come to Dolly Spankers) I was promptly told that they had none. So I ordered the cream of crab soup, which was delicious, and my wife ordered the Maryland crab soup which was very salty. My wife had the crab cakes which have always been delicious in the past, but were found lacking tonight. They were very dry and fishy tasting. I had the fish and chips, another traditional favorite. The fish was similar in appearance, texture, and taste to grocery store frozen fish sticks! It was no longer the fantastic fried fish fillet that Crabby Dicks was known for. It was disgusting. My French fries were salty to the point of being inedible and the rancid oil flavor only heightened my displeasure. The coleslaw was also dry and flavorless. We have been going to Dolly Spankers since it changed hands from Crabby Dicks. Since it changed hands, I have always ordered the Bookmaker Salad. Until last week, they always put four prawn on the salad. Last week they only put two. I did not complain since I understand that things are getting more expensive. However, today, not only did they put two prawn on the salad, it was only half the size that it has been in the past. I really didn't mind paying $20 for a salad when it was a large salad, but now that they reduced it to half the size, I will no longer go there. read more

I aggressively despise this place. why would you name food after genitalia. that will never not be weird to me. my peel and eat shrimp was great. fries were great. crab balls -__- were good. the egg roll thing was also good. everyone finished all their food so how much can I complain. the restaurant itself is the cabin of a ship or something idk but the decor is appropriate. waitstaff was nice. We love the vibe in summer in the deck, but "off-season" we don't venture out that often. Tonight we took my in-laws because dad was in the mood for fried shrimp. Wow! What a fantastic meal. Mom loves oysters and really enjoyed the local Del-Mar-Va offering. We all enjoyed the rockfish bites which were chunks of fish, lightly battered and fried to perfection. Our meals of Shrimp & Chips, Whiskey Dip, Crabcake and Salmon BLT were all fabulous. Flavors and preparation were done to perfection! First time visit. Went for lunch after a visit to Ft Delaware. It was my brothers birthday and our server, StevI, made sure it was very nIce. The Bookmaker salad and Rockfish tacos were yummy and the two meat Nachos were amazing. Nice scenery and friendly people.The restaurant has a shore town feel and the bar area has the vibe of your favorite town bar . The food and atmosphere are great . The place wasn't bad, I liked the outdoor seating and the ambience was ok. But our food wasn't very well flavored and most of our seafood was overcooked. I can't remember the name of the entree but it was a huge tray for sharing and it had Alaskan crab legs, shrimp, oysters and I think clams with a side of corn and Cole slaw. Went here out of curiosity since I loved the former Crabby Dicks and I wasn't disappointed except for one thing: no crab pretzel on the menu. I used to travel from Pennsylvania just to get it because it was so good, compared to the many restaurants that offer something like this, but fall short. Got the voodoo shrimp instead but it was in a soupy hot sauce that didn't sit well. Outside of that, we were very pleased. The service was excellent for a busy restaurant. They also have Dolly Spankers tees/sweats for sale, which made me happy. read more

Went there right after changed name. Ordered a salmon BLT. Was served on just plain white bread toasted. Bread you buy at Walmart. No mayo, aioli anything on it. They were new so I gave them a second chance. Got it again next time and it came on a roll that was horrible and again no sauce as was listed on menu. Always have to ask for fork or something. Very bad at coming to clean tables off. Had to ask last time to clear table a bit so there was room for dessert dishes. Came for mothers day. Had a 2pm reservation they lost it. We waited 25 min and finally got seated at 2:44. At our 1st table, we were getting showered with... something. They moved us to a different table. We ordered drinks and foods. 2 hours later we had NO food. Not the kids food, not our appetizers, nothing. Tables that were sat after us were eating whole entrees. When we complained we were told some foods take longer than others. So their burgers were somehow faster than our appetizers. But our food was "coming right out" and its just the "order of the tickets. They can't do anything about it". We canceled our appetizers since we didnt need appetizers with our meals at that point. My son's cheeseburger came out without cheese. We spoke to the manager and got more lies and excuses. I'm very disappointed at my 1st and apparently last (even if they weren't closing this location) at Crabby Dicks. Food was good, service was atrocious. read more

Once our order was taken, we waited for about an hour to receive it and one of our meals did not come while a second meal was made totally incorrectly. It had to be sent back. I've been here 3 or 4 times. Love the bayseason'd popcorn to start. Hubby got draft beer and I got cherry rita every time. I super duper looooovvveeed my Cherry Rita.
