The rooms were cute and had all the amenities that I needed. The WiFi was a bit scarce in certain areas of the property. There's a beautiful forest right there with a fun trail to walk, leading to beautiful views and nature wonders. There's several outdoor areas to sit in. Basketball court. Picnic area. Fire pit. Mini Library inside of the office. I would definitely stay here again. Peaceful. Clean. Safe. Restaurants nearby. Even if you don't go to the official Redwoods National Park, this is a great spot to experience GLORIOUS REDWOODS!

I'll drop back in for a beer, football, and maybe to play some chess with a friend (they have a board set up, along with some other games). Really cool, unexpected little spot. Check it out. I say rooms, because the manager moved us out of one room that we suspect was actually being lived in by someone, and put us in what he called, "a better room." We couldn't shower, we couldn't make coffee in the provided coffee pot. The bed was pretty comfortable. There is a great, safe yard for dogs to wander around in, and that's one of the reasons we liked this place. In the past the place was mowed and well-taken-care-of, but this time the grass was taller than my ankles, and I wondered if they just couldn't afford the upkeep. I don't know what's happening at the Sea Cliff Motel, but I hope for their sake they can get it together and do the upgrades they need to do. Hard to do I imagine, with so few rooms and not charging much. I think they're in between a rock and a hard place. Three stars is generous... Here's hoping.

A few "even better ifs" - I am never a fan of the Keurig coffee maker and good coffee on vacation is one of my very favorite things. A real coffee maker in the kitchen would be an amazing upgrade! If we come again, I might even just bring my own coffee maker. I loved the breakfast delivery! It was such a fun perk and my kids truly enjoyed it. Some sort of protein would have taken it to the next level - hard boiled eggs? Yogurt? All in all, would definitely go back! Trinidad is just lovely and Humboldt County is my favorite in CA!

I was here in June for a family reunion to see relatives, I had not seen in 50 years. It's even possible one of them had worked here as a maid in the 70s or 80s so that was really interesting. It was her old stomping ground. She lived here the rest of the family live nearby. This is a throwback to the 1970s which is why it's so charming and I think that's why so many people would love it. I didn't get to walk the grounds until the last day but there is actually an old-fashioned 70s style arcade with pinball machine machines it's just exactly like how it was when we were kids in the 70s and went camping with our parents. That's the type of stuff you would find. There's an old gathering hall in the back with wood floors that hasn't been used probably forever, which is gorgeous, there's a little Arboretum in the middle of the square that they light up every night with little violet lights. It's beautiful and you can tell that was an old area where there's a fountain that's no longer working. All charming and quaint. There's a little fire pit you can walk to in the back that looks like the type of fire pit we had at camp in 1975. It just has that old vibe that everyone loves and is disappearing everywhere so I pray they never change anything, but I don't think they will. The cabins are the same they're old-fashioned and beautiful however, inside they have been somewhat modernized because that's the world we live in people would be upset if things were original I wouldn't but a lot of people would. I found it to be gorgeous and quiet. The only complaint I had and they did give me back some money for that and I really do appreciate that is that my little mini fridge was rocking and making a lot of noise all night and that did keep me from sleeping, that was rough. I'm a light sleeper and I found the rooms to be cold because it's regulated heat and I didn't know I could go up and ask for a space heater or bring one so I didn't now I know. To answer the question would I come back again?? 100% I loved it there and of course the kitchenette was filled with everything you need, I didn't take a shower there which sounds bad because I was freezing, but the showers were clean. The bathrooms were nice. The room was small, but really good for the price. I do plan to come back next May and hopefully I'm on great terms with them. I think my little complaints or issues were reasonable and fair or they wouldn't have refunded but I'm glad that they did and I'm glad I brought it up so the next person doesn't go through those issues and I'm glad that I'm letting people know if you do get cold there. You can ask for a space heater or bring your own but just make sure you let them know. Let them know you brought it because space heaters are fire hazards and you don't want to cause trouble in a beautiful area like this Also, they did have an incredible campground which I left out so there was an area for RVs and then in the back there were actual pads where people had tents and camping gear and all I thought was wow I wish I could do that next time maybe my cousin will do that with me for a day or two and I can have the cabin as well oh, and I did forget to mention that some of the cabins had fireplaces which I think I will try to get next Time. This is the ONLY place to stay!! Also not far from the only gas station and the only market, which are both great!

CHER-AE-HEIGHTS CASINO RANCHERIA TRINADAD CALIFORNIA has a number of disingenious employees in the past and present. Just a couple yrs ago in another case, three employees went to jail for stealing a few hundred thousands dollars from the casino vault. Just last December 2009 BMW car drawing there, a dishonest employee 'John the Shorty' handpicked the first winning ticket from the drawing drum and saw the poor guy's name on the ticket that he recognized, and immediately disqualified it, all because the guy has written down the peace sign and prayer on the back blank side of the ticket he said, despite the fact that on the front side of the ticket has his name and player ID number and all legitimately printed just the way casino has issued to all slot players. And yet when this guy complained it to California Gaming Control Commission,CHER-AE-HEIGHTS CASINO RANCHERIA manager ROBERT LANHAM and cronies showed the investigating agent the phony ticket to cover up and justify their case. At this point in our country, it is critical that businesses support the community, especially community health. This casino has no plastic partititions, so you sit within inches of somebody else because the slots are packed in tightly. There is NO MASK MANDATE!!! Since this is the gas station for the nearby casino, you will find slot machines inside the gas station.

What a wonderful, welcoming, communal space!…read more I was invited to perform here by the Zero to Fierce Festival, and the team here has it going on! I worked with Jackie, Joyful, TL, Mobius, and so many other team members; I'm so grateful to have performed my show THE ANTI "YOGI": Liberation, Not Lululemon, at such a supportive space! I was impressed by the community engagement, hunger, and interest to listen/participate/share. The artwork presented inside is beautiful, the space hosts so many types of shows- and it can accommodate a lot of people! It is truly a communal space; hosting lunchbox sessions to discuss the topics with the artists coming in and the radio station is right next door. Everyone is very supportive toward artists and helping artists; they are engaged in supporting the artist however they may need. They display art work/exhibits in the common area and try to bring in diverse stories that need to be heard. I definitely will recommend this place and festival with others! Our most recent visit was for the theater costume clearance sale, it opened at 10 this past Saturday morning - we arrived at around 11:30 and it was over! It is what it is! This also shows how popular this local venue is. This is a great playhouse that supports and helps a multitude of organizations within the local community. Because of the unique nature of this facility it runs hours accord to the event(s) it is hosting at that time. You may want to verify with the event your going for what times, dates, etc. in advance if you're driving in from out of the area. While visiting from Seattle I brought my kids for the first time (ages 7 and 9). They were quickly able to get into the spirit, making friends with all of the people surrounding them. Our fellow hecklers passed down their wisdom with classics like "I've seen better arms on a snake" and "I've seen better swings in a playground". The food and drinks are affordable, the crowd is the best, and live sports are always a fun option...especially when the tickets are so inexpensive. May this space never change!

The hometown fans were super welcoming and friendly. The band was delightful - Nirvana to Neil Diamond. The hotdogs were delicious. The best part was the Crabs came out of the dugout after EVERY inning to share words of encouragement and high fives with each other. Can't wait to visit next summer to cheer on the Crabs again!

Musicians play in a big, comfortable space decorated with very interesting art, antiques and seemingly random objects that make you smile. You can read, write, work on your own crafting projects or simply watch the musicians. There are tables and chairs by the big windows where you can spread out, and comfortable seats facing the musicians. There were delicious scones (sweet or savory), fresh coffee drinks and a self-service tea station. You can drop in at any time, and payment is all on the honor/donation system, with no concrete pricing posted. It's a surreal space where you can really relax and get creative! It looks like they have several recurring monthly events and host art exhibits & musical performancee, all listed on their website.

There is an admission fee to get in - (I forget how much - but it was not a lot). The exhibits focus on the geologic history of the world (lots of dinosaur information), as well as information about the local area wildlife, forests, and more. But yeah, the gift shop is decent. They have a decent selection of Native artwork, with quite a bit of art from the local Northern California tribes. I love/miss the basket designs of the Northern California tribes (Wiyot, Yurok, Hoopa, etc.). While here I picked up a greeting card made by a local artist as well as Blackfoot Confederacy's latest pow wow cd.
