We played and stayed 2 days and one night at Bear River casino resort last month and we had a really nice time. This casino is smaller than most that we've been to, but everything is fairly new and it's really clean. I also like that the smoking area is totally separated from the non-smoking area so I didn't have to sit in the cloud of other people's smoke and it actually smelled quite nice. They have a little soda station so you can serve yourself and that is always a huge plus for me. We were able to find the classic games that we both really enjoy and the security at this location was friendly and helpful. We were traveling in a recreational vehicle and the the casino actually allows for people like us to stay overnight in their lot which is really kind. We just had to fill out a little paperwork inside and there was no charge. There is also a great little taco place here and if you're visiting the area, we were able to find multiple things to do during our stay so you definitely won't be bored. The casino also has a gas station that offers the best prices in the area by far! We would definitely come here again and I highly recommend you stopping by if you're in the area.

Not a gambler much walked in with 500 cash ready to win big. After a few minutes of walking around I decided to exit with all my cash in my pocket. Didn't give them a dime of my money this time. Not like last time (and I mean last time)

Stayed here unexpectedly as plans for beach camping fell through. Room was decent and clean, pillows and bedding left a lot to be desired but overall what you expect from a casino hotel. We ate at the grill restaurant for dinner and our waitress was very friendly and provided great service. Food was ok, tri tip was a little overcooked. Overall decent value.

Room 428 smelled like sewer or worse! Called the front desk they of course did not have a room like our $250.00 night room! They sent housekeeping to clean the bathroom which did not remove the stench! The tap water was yellow but it wasn't until I started a bath that I noticed, they said it was because of their well water again gross! I complained about these things and thought someone would call to make it right, they gave me $90.00 off but I don't think it was right. Will never stay there again!

Perched above the stunning Eel River Valley, the restaurant at Bear River Casino offers one of the most gorgeous views I've ever seen. Rolling hills blanketed in vibrant fall colors glow in the twilight, creating a serene, picturesque backdrop for dining. Unlike the main casino floor, the dining area is separated from the smoking section, confined to a designated room away from the restaurant. As a nonsmoker, I found the atmosphere far more pleasant, free from heavy smoke. A faint smoky odor occasionally lingered--slightly noticeable but not overwhelming. Ventilation could improve, yet it's a step above typical casino experiences. The menu shines with locally sourced cuisine, using fresh regional ingredients to craft flavorful dishes that elevate any meal. From savory entrees to creative sides, the food is a highlight. Warm, attentive service adds to the inviting ambiance, with staff ensuring a smooth experience. The blend of exquisite, locally inspired flavors, hospitable care, and jaw-dropping views makes it ideal for holiday dining. For Thanksgiving, it delivers a memorable feast in a scenic, mostly smoke-free haven. This gem is perfect for nonsmokers craving a flavorful escape. Highly recommended for its beauty and quality. Up to date with new machines and still has some of the old favorites. Here is a huge plus if you an RV or just a tired driver you can park in the back overnight.

Also our window and screen were so filthy. There's no way we could even see out. Not to mention the fleas both of my dogs came home with.

3 stars...... 2.5 isn't an option…read more Overall experience: It ended up being an acceptable time here. There are positives and some negatives that I will explain. Main concerns: * Overpriced for overall stay / experience * Unpleasant, extremely outdated decor; hard to ignore Positives: * Beautiful ocean view * Nice garden * Close to trailheads * Communal fridge filled with cold drinks; breakfast (I know it's a B&B but for this price, in-room coffee would've been nice.) * Very clean rooms * Hosts were kind, pleasant, informative Negatives: * Decor: The first impression was alarming at best. Online photos do leave you with the impression that the decor is dated but it is overwhelming to actually see once there. I had to walk back to the car and process whether I could actually stay here. After looking up availability of neighboring lodging and seeing no options (and considering the loss of money already spent here...), we decided to go inside. Instead of walking in the door, you have to use the old, outdated intercom where you're asked if you have a reservation. After being let in, we were still experiencing a lot of feelings ("creepy" is the word we kept repeating to each other and "Grandma's estate sale".). While the host was polite and informative, the environment / decor was so outdated, it was hard to get past or ignore. I spent half the day working to force myself to not feel uncomfortable here; I should feel good about the stay - not spend considerable vacation time talking myself into not feeling grossed out by it. * Cost of stay: Considering this was the most expensive option in the area, I expected more / better. Besides the overall decor, our bath towels had bleach stains on them. And be sure to bring your own bath supplies. The ones provided that are boasted about on the website.....looks like they bought Dollar store products, stuck old-fashioned-looking labels on and have refilled over and over. I did not feel comfortable using them at all. Summary: * Nice hosts. Great view. That's it. * Would I stay again or recommend to others: Hard no. You think it's obvious to want an ocean view but I'd easily pass on the view for a more comfortable place to stay. We actually left a day early. Could be good if recommendations here and in other reviews are taken and implemented. Relying solely on "the view" isn't cutting it.

I stayed here with my husband and our 2-month-old baby. While we checked out of our room at 11am, it was storming outside, so we took a seat in the lounge to wait out the weather for a short period of time and feed the baby. Within minutes, the innkeeper, Roger, came over to tell us, rather coldly, that "the reservation ended at 11." Despite being fully out of the room and sitting quietly in a shared space (where there was no one else, as the inn wasn't even full), we were asked to leave. His tone was passive-aggressive -- particularly unkind given the circumstances. That was one of a few negative interactions we had with him. In all our travels, we've never experienced such a lack of hospitality -- especially from a place that charges over $300 a night. Most properties are more than accommodating when guests are briefly using common areas after checkout, especially with a baby and during bad weather. After our stay, we noticed some other online reviews describing similarly negative interactions with Roger, scattered among the glowing 5-star ones. Sadly, that interaction left a lasting negative impression. As a result, we won't be returning and can't recommend this BnB to others who value genuine hospitality. It's a real shame, considering the views and location.

Upon arrival we were greeted by our innkeeper for the night and a snack plate that included cheese, crackers, dried fruit, nuts, and salmon was ready for us to take up to our room. This snack plate is prepared everyday. The room was very comfortable and we loved the attention to detail. We stayed in the Egret room and we had plenty of space. The bed was comfortable and could slightly hear the sea lions from our room. No t.v. in the room and it was nice to connect with nature and rest. There was an indoor heater in the closet that we turned on to heat up the room and turned off when we slept. The blankets kept us warm at night. One night after staying out at the fire pit to hang out with other guests, we got back to our room to shower and we didn't have hot water. One of the innkeeper's told us sometimes it happens when too many people are showering at once. Not a deal breaker, although I want to share because this is something that I'd want to know. Back to good stuff...their breakfast is delicious every morning. It tastes like it is made with love. There is a trail down to the beach and a fire pit where they have all the ingredients necessary to make smores. The view is spectacular here. Truly one of a kind. We loved our experience here and look forward to coming back.

The beach with the Stellar's sea lines on the rocks (could hear them from the BnB), the attention to small details in the rooms, the sounds of the waves, the great breakfast, walking through the amazing garden; it was really one of our greatest experiences on this trip. The interaction with the hosts was a bit odd though, generally seemed very annoyed most of the time; however we never had any issues getting what we needed or answering questions.
