The restaurant. Pretty good prime rib, 3/5 stars. Decent Cesar salad with chicken, 3/5 stars. We were not charged for my club soda. The service is, in my opinion, terrible. Servers who hand-carry drinks instead of using trays. Servers who spill food/sauces on the plate and floor and seem to think nothing of it. People who were seated after us were served their food before us--don't do that! The view from the restaurant is nice. The people are nice. The service needs improvement. read more

Bear River is beautiful. I love the bear and nature decor and the casino is really modern with nice darker lighting. They have a lot of new machines and have some areas with the old machines. They are lacking in video poker machines. The issue with this place, and I'm guessing why they have such bad reviews, is the service... everywhere. The check-in person was nice but didn't tell you any important information. They do not tell you their odd policy of only cleaning rooms after your third night stay. Even if you request the room to be serviced they will send up extra towels and coffee but you are on your own as far as bedding and cleaning. It was pouring when we stayed here, we loved that, but they did not tell us the bowling alley across the street was closed for renovations starting January 1st. We got all ready to spend the day bowling and in the arcade and got soaked walking there to find out it was closed. We went to the River's Edge Restaurant and it was probably the worst service we have ever had. 3 different groups that sat after us were paying their bill before we got our food. It took 3 people 2 hours to eat dinner. The food was pretty good. After dinner, we sat at the bar next to the restaurant an the girl walked behind the bar 3 times and didn't say a word to us and we finally left after sitting there 20 minutes waiting to get a drink. Again, I don't say this lightly...this was the worst service I have ever had at any restaurant I have ever been to. BUT... the Mexican restaurant they have on the other side of the casino was amazing! Amazing customer service and the best Birria tacos with homemade tortillas! Excellent salsa. They have another food place with American food (we did not try). The beautifully decorated rooms and all around design of the casino is why this place is not complete garbage. They do have a lot of mold in the shower, due to bad cleaning. If they could just get better workers, that knew what customer service is, this casino would be very nice. I had to edit my review and take it down a star due to our last night experience. After losing a bunch of money we just wanted to soak in the jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was SO cold. 5 different people complained and they kept saying they would send someone to fix it. After waiting 30 minutes and no one came, we called to see what was going on and the woman was extremely short and rude and said she sent someone and they couldn't fix it. I told her no one came to even look at it and she said, "Well, it's broken." So the end of our stay was met with a cold jacuzzi and more extremely rude and bad customer service. I would never pay to stay here again. There are much better places in the area. Move on. Blue Lake Casino is SUCH a better run establishment, casino, and hotel that has great customer service. We played and stayed 2 days and one night at Bear River casino resort last month and we had a really nice time. This casino is smaller than most that we've been to, but everything is fairly new and it's really clean. I also like that the smoking area is totally separated from the non-smoking area so I didn't have to sit in the cloud of other people's smoke and it actually smelled quite nice. They have a little soda station so you can serve yourself and that is always a huge plus for me. We were able to find the classic games that we both really enjoy and the security at this location was friendly and helpful. We were traveling in a recreational vehicle and the the casino actually allows for people like us to stay overnight in their lot which is really kind. We just had to fill out a little paperwork inside and there was no charge. There is also a great little taco place here and if you're visiting the area, we were able to find multiple things to do during our stay so you definitely won't be bored. The casino also has a gas station that offers the best prices in the area by far! We would definitely come here again and I highly recommend you stopping by if you're in the area. read more

Stayed here overnight for my son's football game. We came to check in and were greeted right away. The clerk who helped us was very nice. My husband and I were both happy with our room. Very nice and very clean. We had a good night and a good dinner at the rivers edge bar and grill at the resort. Went through the casino, it is small but nice. The next day the bus that was hired to transport our team to the game broke down and the resort was nice enough to make multiple trips transporting our team to the game sight. Heather was the employee that made multiple trips. Heather is an exceptional employee, she was very nice, helpful and provided great customer service. Heather was also very patient and answered my many questions about the city. I would definitely stay here again. read more

The gym here is a nice little spot, not a typical big gym, but decent for a work out. $8 day pass, $20 monthly membership. Basketball court, weights, tread mills. The restaurant is pretty decent here, had a omelette, toast, coffee and hashbrowns. read more

If you looking to eat here, don't trust anything the person on the phone tells you if you're checking what will be available. We made sure to call both Wednesday and Thursday to check if prime ribs would be available on Friday, and when they reassured us we made a reservation for today, a Friday night. Well, now it is Friday, and the two times we called turned out to be incorrect. Apparently they sold completely out of prime rib on Wednesday, and despite that told use over the phone it would be available. The woman at the check-in counter at the Bar & Grill was incredibly rude and didn't seem to care at all. When I questioned why we had been told prime rib would be available tonight when we had called the previous two nights to check she just rolled her eyes and was essentially talking down to me and looked like she just wanted me to leave. Room 428 smelled like sewer or worse! Called the front desk they of course did not have a room like our $250.00 night room! They sent housekeeping to clean the bathroom which did not remove the stench! The tap water was yellow but it wasn't until I started a bath that I noticed, they said it was because of their well water again gross! This was the worst experience from the front desk I have ever experienced in have ber experienced in my life. I complained for oher 2 hours rhe hot tub was freezing and was met with indifference and uncaring and lies. The feont desk tild me they sent someone fown to fix it but I was down there for 2 hours and no one came down. When I called about it after an hour of waiting they told me "oh well" for over $200 a night I expect more from this casino because it is sub par at best. read more

Clean, no smoking in the largest casino hall, which is wonderful. They advertise themselves as being the loosest slots in the area. I would disagree with that. Certainly not the loosest, and sometimes pretty tight. Aside from the fact that I always lose there, it's fine. Good security. Good customers. Very fun machines. read more

This casino "resort" and hotel are made out of cardboard walls. You hear EVERYTHING happening all around your room. TVs in other rooms. Kids SCREAMING in the pool. People running through the hallways. There's no etiquette or respect from anyone around you. I've never seen so many kids at a CASINO before. If you stay here, beg to stay on the top floor. That's probably the only place you can get some peace and quiet. We literally just got back from a 13 day cruise where you didn't hear people in your room as much as you can hear people here. It's quite disappointing. Two days here and all we hear is the echo of kids screaming in the pool. read more

I had the opportunity to eat at the food court. I opened for the 'burger basket'. Just over 10.00 with a players club card. A good value. The burger itself was bland. A couple of suggestions: add some seasoning when cooking the burger. A little salt and pepper in the cooking process goes a long way. Also TOAST the hamburger bin. A bun straight out the the plastic bag is not good. These two small things will add to the flavor and presentation. The staff in the food court were excellent. For the brunch goers: We were dumped at our table for Easter brunch and not acknowledged by the server for a very long time. No water, no beverage order, nothing. Later, he came back to the table only once and that was when we were almost finished eating and had very empty glasses. We then paid $25/person for chewy scrambled eggs and dry biscuits because the trays were empty constantly. If you are going to seat that many people, you need double the amount of trays...minimum. We drove 3.5 hours to meet my kid who lives nearby and she only had time for brunch. Seven total hours of driving for the worst food and service I've ever experienced. Stayed one night in the hotel but at midnight the radio alarm went off playing music loudly and waking up our young children. In addition, the phone in the room has a bright blue screen on and is very distracting making it difficult to sleep if you're used to sleeping in darkness. Beds were comfy but comforter tags were at the top and felt annoying while trying to sleep. Try to ask for a room maybe not near the stairs if you don't want to be woken up by loud people talking. Casino- staff and dealers are super friendly. $5 blackjack and $10 pai gow ! Had a great time. No smoking was a huge bonus. We didn't try the restaurants because we had other plans. Had dinner, went with the Big Rib Eye.. Cooked to perfection. Also had the Fried Cauliflower which was excellent as well. The Food speaks for itself, but the Service was above and beyond. Smokee was my server and this guy is going somewhere . He was by far the best server I have ever had. Super Attentive, very polite, and was an all around great guy. The Hostess was amazing and I recommend the restaurant. And hopefully you get Smokee as your server. I even tipped 25% on a $100 dollar tab. Impressive, and awesome. Love this place!!! Love the people who work here!!! We've been to Eureka a couple times for hiking and decided to give the Casino a shot. What a great choice! The room was very clean and although there was a air conditioning issue, it was fixed quite quickly. Beds were comfy, shower was amazing, and the room was quite large. The Casino floor itself looked fun, it's not necessarily what we do, but if it was, this would be a great place. I don't recommend using the parking structure, it's tight and doesn't have many spots. But it's a Casino, take a gamble and see if they have a spot for you : ) But I can't say how wonderful the staff are, truly nice, welcoming, friendly, accommodating, all the things! Enjoy! read more

This place treats their white guests like shit!! My girlfriend and I experienced extreme prejudice and in fact located to a new hotel..and are currently seeking a refund!! Our hotel experience was beyond prejudice like we've very ever received.. accused of taking pictures of a blackjack dealer and drinking on the property..they told us to confine ourselves to our rooms at 9pm and if nit they would issue a full refund and we could just leave..only no refund to be had..because we are white!!! read more

We stayed one Friday night in May and had a room on the third floor. The people above us apparently we're partying and with the rice-paper walls, we couldn't get to sleep until 3:00 am. We complained to the front desk and security - which did no good. At 7 am I went for Starbucks, and I should have stayed in our room as there was no coffee available except for expresso. The sign said open at 6 am - forgot to mention no coffee! Saturday morning we went to have breakfast but were told we'd half to wait 30 minutes before being seated...and only 1/2 of the entire restaurant was full (probably low on help) so we left and ate elsewhere. The casino looked ok and the majority of it was non-smoking. They did have a smaller section for smoking. The casino looked nice from the inside and out - so did their gas station. We filled up at 6 am, the only time with few cars in line. Busy station. read more

This review is only for the casino. I did not visit the hotel so can't speak to that. We stopped by this casino on the way back from visiting the redwoods to try our luck. It is not a huge casino but I was pleased to find new and current slots and everything was very clean and in good order. My husband said we could only stay half an hour before getting back on the road in which time I was able to hit quite a few bonuses in a short amount of time at the penny slots and walked away with about $700. 1) The girl that checked me in the hotel was not friendly and her customer service skills need work. I did not feel welcomed. 2) Restaurant food was so-so, and the NY strip steak was very fatty. I couldn't eat it. The waitress was spectacular, though. I would not come back here, but it seems safer than Eureka. read more
