We are staying here overnight in our RV to visit Redwoods. Came in for dinner and had the gnocchi dinner special with a side salad. The gnocchi was amazing, fried (but not greasy) and filled with cheese with a light red sauce. We got the side salad with allowed a trip to the salad bar, so it's not your typical side of lettuce. Just an amazing place to visit. I travel in an RV so appreciate their generosity to allow overnight parking. The grounds are gorgeous,w it's a hiking tail and generally a huge herd of elk wander through. However, the casino is super fun with excellent blackjack tables and dealers. This has a wonderful location with beautiful Elk running around the fields. The facility is small with limited table games. Lots of slots. Jim the Black Jack dealer and Bobbie were very nice. The dealer who wears the Raiders jersey is a little too cocky. The guy who brought drinks was super nice. Now for the negative portion. SMOKING is allowed in the Casino and the smoke is so thick it makes enjoying yourself very difficult. The casino allows a 2 night stay in their parking lot for RV'ers at no cost. We stayed with them in Sept of this year, 2025 and are currently here again. Nov. 2025. They have a great variety of slots and games. All the employees we've had contact with have been very friendly, kind and helpful. There is a herd of Elk that gathered both nights just a stones throw from our Rv in the big meadow next to the parking lot. The casino just finished a very nice walking/hiking path up into the wooded area behind the casino. The location of the casino is off the highway far enough so that you don't hear a lot of traffic noise. The gas station on the property has the best/lowest gas prices within the Crescent City area. read more

We stayed as a last minute resort with our RV in the parking lot. The casino has 1 floor and is small. There are no hotels rooms. It's very well kept / clean. There's no children allowed on the casino floor even when walking passed. There is a restaurant there. They had a live band while there. It was entertaining while eating. It took a minute for our food to get to us. The staff were nice though. The food was good and reasonably priced. The newly remodeled Casino opened last Nov. Although, its absolutely stunning with the upgrades and views, the casino itself has extremely tight slots. I came w my partner another couple. We arrived a little after lunch time and it was extremely slow. The sign says seat yourself and our waitress.. Angela? Was immediately friendly, took our drink orders all was well but when she brought them back, she forgot the beer order. She left for some time and came back to take our food order (still didn't bring the beer) Walked away and waited 10 mins till our friend went to the bar and asked the bartender for the beer. It was poured and sat there for 10 mins she forgot. We waited another 35 mins for our food. We had a vegetarian in our party and the menu does not offer vegetarian options.. We were told they will be changing the menu quarterly.. Please add more veggie options, the salad bar shouldn't be the only option What we ordered Fish and Chips - Breaded not battered. Could have been better. Looked boxed. BLT - Bacon on the side (vegetarian add avocado) - Listen, lettuce is cheap.... its ok to add more than 1 piece on a sandwich. The onion rings were burnt! Senior lunch special: Beyond disappointing, boarding on disrespectful to seniors. After a one hour wait in line to pay, with elderly who could bearly stand, another 20 minute wait to be seated. The salad bar was the best part of the meal. Main course was fried chicken. While eating my salad, I watched while the food line came to a complete stop for ten minutes, until the cook came out to say that they ran out of fried chicken, and filled the pan with pre-frozen chicken patties. Went into the Elk Lodge Casino Gas Station 8/15/2024 at approx 1030 am and when I arrived a woman was having trouble Getting her gas Nozzle lined up with the short hose" I helped her align the Nozzle and the time on her gas pump had expired" so I went inside and had them reset her pump and when she was done 10$ for me in a Can" on that pump" apperently I was pumpimg her gas but had paid the 10$ and stopped at 10.))$ as I was Putting my fuel in" the So called Manager" Woman was yelling at me to stop pumping" I said i paid for the fuel and had already stopped at 10$ " Reply was thats not your gas" U can Just leave! yelling in my face!" I told her I wanted to speak w her Manager and she lied to me telling me she was the manager" moments later she said shed get her superior" I spoke with him briefly" about her Screaming at me" I never at any point used profanity against her. I simply refused to speak w her and wanted a manager to school her on Customer Service. Today I went back around 10:30 am and attempted to buy Milk and they refused me service attempting to get me to sign some paper banning me from the store for either 30 days or if i refused to sign 1 year" WOW I asked fr what " was told I used Profanity against an employee" but the manager i was Faced with earlier after she used aggressive and unjustifiable verbal force against me made no mention of a Ban on entering the property. Now based on a lie to cover there personal misdeeds and unfathomable lier has me tresspassed " but the law is clear" to trespass a Person you must have Given them a Tresspass warning with a Particular set of articulable facts supporting a ban. This was not done' and again treated terribly for no reason other than a childish attempt to justify her actions. I had the "Chinese" Tues Senior buffet special few months ago. Waited an hour in line, I guess everyone wanted the Chinese. They ran out of two entrees right after we sat down, but when they did refill, the beef dish was not very good, meat was chewy and tough. Picture a dining room full of seniors, many with dentures trying to chew the meat. The casino has now dropped the low price incentive for Senior Tuesday, so that's bummer when I started going. I heard the salad bar was very good, so I want to go back and try that anyway but not on a senior day so I can avoid that crowd although probably less people with price increase. I never gamble and would only go for the restaurant or music when they have it, so I'm not the customer Casino is trying to attract. Well I ended up here via Yelp as we came into town late at night and there was absolutely nothing else open other than Taco Bell or so. We ran in here to barely get down to eating before they closed their restaurant inside the casino, this all during the Covid pandemic and so nonetheless we made it and we were glad we did. The young waitress was super nice, very fast and all this as she was getting off for the night, she quickly helped us order and brought out our food before she left, we gave here a good tip, totally worth it. The food was all good, fresh, tasty and we were all totally appreciative of the fact that they served us as they were about to close and the food was actually really good . My clients decided to go here for lunch. Our server was Haley, and she is a doll. The coffee was hot, the portions of food were ample, hot, and delicious. Didn't have the salad bar but it looked good along with the soups which were pozole and clam chowder. I had a hot pastrami with tots. Yummo! We will definitely be going back. I was in Crescent City visiting a friend when we decided to go to the casino on Monday afternoon. I signed up for Elk Valley's Points Club to try and win their "Spin to Win" for free play - I won $5. The casino is actually much bigger on the inside than one would think. Elk Valley has several denominations of slots and a large variety of current slot machines. Blackjack and poker tables are open but there seemed to be only one blackjack table open when we were there. The staff was very friendly and nice. Elk Valley also has a restaurant and a full bar.
