If I could give this service 0 out of 5 stars, I would. First, I want to acknowledge how wonderful Naomi was when she helped place me in my first role. The second recruiter I worked with, Michelle, was also an absolute angel. She was supportive, kind, and communicative throughout the process, and I truly appreciated working with both of them. Unfortunately, my experience with the owner, Claudia, was the complete opposite. I have never in my life worked with someone as unprofessional as she was. To provide context, I was matched with two ultra high net worth clients through this company. Both individuals turned out to be extremely emotionally abusive. I have worked in the celebrity industry since I was 20 years old, and by the time I worked with these clients at age 31, I had never encountered behavior to that degree. While I understand that the company's priority is to place candidates and generate revenue, there should have been transparency about the individuals they were placing me with. In my experience, Claudia was only kind and engaged when a placement was made and the company was earning money. During my second placement, I gave a two week notice due to the increasingly toxic and emotionally abusive behavior I was experiencing from the client. One week into that notice period, the situation escalated further and I made the decision to leave the position early. I had previously been transparent with Michelle about my concerns and my desire to leave the role. At one point, the client contacted Claudia and shortly afterward Claudia left me a very aggressive voicemail referencing an NDA and accusing me of disclosing information about a previous employer. This accusation was completely unfounded. The previous client I worked for through this company was already listed on my resume, so there was nothing confidential about that information. I chose to respond by text message because I did not want to engage in a heated conversation when I knew I had done nothing wrong. Claudia's response to my message was simply a vomiting emoji. I found this reaction extremely unprofessional and inappropriate, especially given the circumstances I was dealing with at the time. The company and employer also made several accusations about my conduct. Ultimately, I provided the California EDD with substantial documentation covering the three month duration of my employment, including text messages, emails, and medical documentation. After reviewing the evidence, the judge ruled in my favor and granted unemployment benefits. It took me nearly two years to feel comfortable enough to write this review because of how stressful and traumatic the experience was. My hope is that no one else is placed into situations like this without transparency or support. I sincerely hope the company reflects on how candidates are treated moving forward. read more

You apply to every job that you discussed in your interview, you email, you call, you do all you can, to be met with nothing, job after job. Month after month. In the beginning you think you'll probably be a priority for the next job since you didn't get the other one. Again nothing. You hear nothing from them. No emails, no calls. A complete lack of respect for your time. A complete waste of time. read more

I am writing this review based on a deeply troubling experience I had with The Help Company over a decade ago that still stands out as one of the most painful and damaging moments of my early career. At the time, I was in my early 20s, freshly graduated from UC Berkeley, young, eager, and trusting. I did not yet fully have my voice, my confidence, or the life experience I have now -- and I believe that played a role in how easily I was dismissed and harmed. Initially, I was working with an agent named Katie, who was at first kind, warm, and actively sending me on trials. However, my limited interactions with Claudia were consistently the opposite -- cold, dismissive, and at times outright rude. I brushed this off at the time because I believed in giving people the benefit of the doubt, and because my relationship with Katie felt supportive. Looking back now, those early red flags matter. I completed a weekend trial with a high-profile family in Santa Barbara, and the trial itself went exceptionally well. Everything about the weekend indicated that I would be offered the position. Unbeknownst to me, a background check was run during that same weekend. After the trial concluded and while I was driving back to Los Angeles, I received a call from someone at the agency informing me that my background check had supposedly come back stating that I had committed Grand Theft Auto -- an allegation that was 100% false. When I tried to calmly explain that there must have been a mistake, both The Help Company and the third-party background check company were immediately accusatory, cold, and dismissive. I was not treated like a professional who had just successfully completed a successful trial -- I was treated like someone already assumed guilty. I contacted the background check company directly, and the woman on the phone arrogantly insisted that their system "doesn't make mistakes." After I continued to push back, they reran my background -- and it came back completely clear. Instead of apologizing, taking accountability, or acknowledging their error, the representative then accused me of somehow quickly "clearing" the charge through the courthouse, which is both false and illogical. I was even asked, shockingly, "What exactly did you steal?" despite the clean report. At no point was there an apology. Only defensiveness, judgment, and accusation. Following this incident, The Help Company stopped returning my phone calls entirely and effectively blacklisted me without explanation -- based solely on a background check mistake that had already been proven false. As a Black woman in an industry where bias already exists, the speed at which I was presumed guilty, discarded, and denied grace was deeply painful and deeply telling. Looking back with adult eyes, what I experienced feels not only negligent, but discriminatory. At the time, I didn't yet understand how to fully advocate for myself. I was young. I was in my people-pleasing phase. I felt powerless, embarrassed, and disposable. And I carry regret that I did not fight harder back then -- but youth and shock silence people. Now, more than 13 years later, I am a grown woman who has found her voice, her confidence, and her power. I am one of the top-earning, highest-ranked nannies in Los Angeles. I have worked with multiple high-profile families, passed extensive and repeated background checks with absolute consistency, remain registered with Trustline, and have maintained a spotless professional record. Other agencies have been genuinely shocked when hearing this story. My background has been triple-checked many times since -- always clean. What happened here was not a reflection of my character, my qualifications, or my integrity. It was a failure of due process, professionalism, accountability, and basic human decency. I am sharing this now not from a place of bitterness, but from a place of clarity. What I tolerated back then as a young woman, I would never tolerate today. And while I cannot go back and advocate for the younger version of myself in that moment, I can speak now -- so that others are empowered to advocate for themselves, trust their instincts, and understand the importance of how agencies handle accusations, background checks, and human lives. read more

I first signed with The Help Company many years ago when a friend took me to their office to find a job (which I ended finding by myself). I don't remember how the process was, but I do remember they weren't very friendly. Last year when I was job hunting, I decided to give them a try again. After days calling and leaving messages without any luck of talking to someone, I emailed Claudia directly to schedule a interview and be able to give them new paperwork. She replied saying a interview wasn't necessary (haven't been there in at least 10 years) and ask me to send everything through email, which I did promptly. Every since, I send almost daily emails about new positions to everyone in the company (Claudia, Naomi, Michelle and Katie) and when I show interest, the position always abruptly change. The answers (which I not always get, btw) are always the same: "position change to part time", "they are not looking anymore", "position is on hold", "far from you (in a radius of 8 miles ?)", "somebody else is working with that job, I'll forward", "we will email you if they decide to meet", "we will make a note that you are interest", "they are now paying less then the description says"... and so it goes. Honestly? BS! It's been more than a year now, and I haven't been to a single interview yet. I've been told many time that I have great references letters, a great resume and that people would be happy to have me. So, the only thing I can think of is that they don't like me, that my profile doesn't match their agency's, or that they have their own favorites, because I mean, is very obvious that my resume is always left out, or maybe the last one to be send out. I sure did asked them many times to be honest tho. They have the right to not want to work with me... but if that's the case, then say it. Don't loose my precious time if you are not interested in helping me, or if I'm not a fit for your agency! I have no idea why this company has so many good reviews. I know people that had luck with them, but I also know a lot people that haven't. So, just a thought: don't loose your time like I did. There are better agencies in town. They will at least treat you with some respect, tell you the truth and reply your emails! (And Claudia, no need to reply my review here in a sarcastic way like you did with the other lady! To be fair, I doubt if the Help Company would be in business all these years if all the "lousy" reviews were correct. She obviously has had success in placing people, but my experiences with her were not so great. Both as someone seeking work, and seeking someone to work, so from both spectrums rather mediocre. Once I was employed, I was looking for a Chef for someone (very legit request) and ended up having to find the Chef through other channels. Having worked at a 5 Star 5 Diamond property in Beverly Hills for several years, I know what discerning clients want. I left there briefly to do a stint that didn't work out because nothing was spelled out on paper, signed, etc. My bad. So with extra time on my hands, I went to the Help Agency to look for extra work for myself. I deal with celebrities, royalty, extremely wealthy people who ask me to help them with various things all the time. I know the feel for the business and am very familiar with the clientele, so they're doing something right. I guess this type of agency is geared more for people seeking help as opposed to people looking for jobs. Not sure. read more

I went to The Help Company after a rough patch in my life. I wasn't sure how I wanted to move forward, or which position would be right for me. They had been referred to me by a previous employer whom always use their services and was always very satisfied. My experience was wonderful. I emailed them my resume and their response was quick and efficient. Within a day we were conducting a phone interview and within the week I was in their offices having a blast as we talked about where I wanted to go in life. All the interviews were very fun, no pressure, and very much so an intellectual meeting of the minds. I was surprised by how much they were concerned with my happiness and not just their clients.
