I used Robert Half to fill a role at my company and family office. The experience was terrible. After using them, I tried a local recruiting firm and it was the best experience I have ever had with a recruiting company. What I learned is that Robert Half and all these big nationwide recruiting firms are hiring recruiters with no experience straight out of college. These big companies like Robert Half are also filling roles all over the country, so they don't have a database of local candidates as big as the local recruiting firms that only fill local roles. Don't use Robert Half. Use a recruiting company that only fills local roles and hires experienced recruiters. read more

I reached out to Robert Half in hopes to transition out of my company. The recruiter who I spoke with is May Taing. She seemed very nice, and, told me that she would keep everything confidential. At this point, only May Taing knew that I was looking for a new job. Within few days, the controller asked why I'm not happy there. I later shared my story with a co-worker, and, she told me that the same thing happened to her after she reached out to Robert Half. I cannot recommend Robert Half to anyone. Terrible experience with this company, Emily Corken and Antonia Ashby to be specific. After being submitted for two/three jobs and looked over these people ghosted me; would not return phone calls or emails. I contacted several times to inquire on what was wrong to be completely ignored and treated as though I was somehow unfit for work though I have years of office experience and good references from former employers that I worked with for 15 years (LinkedIn connections with my former boss and coworkers.) With the current state of the job market in Los Angeles seek better options as these people will essentially try to destroy your confidence in your abilities and make you feel uncomfortable and unworthy of even an explanation. I am sure this is a fine company. However, I went to went to their website to upload a resume and not able to. The website linked to Yelp may not be Android user friendly. Specifically, the issue was the fact that I could not upload my resume. The available listing on the website seem grand indeed. I do recommend you check their website out. Back in 2012 I drove from Orange County to the Los Angeles office to meet with Didi Gooch (sic), she was pleasant enough but let's get real these agencies make money off their employees so when you set your standards they should either accept or explain why not. Well, she and I disagreed, she gave ZERO explanation and proceeded to ghost me. Fast forward eleven years later and Daniel Song did the exact same thing, to heck without a hand basket to this "staffing agency." Honestly, as an experienced senior litigation paralegal ( who as well attended Law School in California ) . I've worked extensively in many law firms on both sides of the fence might be a bit confusing for two ladies answering the telephone at Robert Half and Associates. The first lady I spoke to at Robert Half and associates seemed a bit confused and overwhelmed. The second call to another lady who seemed well spoken promised to promptly send me an attachment to my business email to update for their files and explore new positions for me to not just consider but set up interviews. This bit of " cloak and dagger " suspense has still not resolved as I've yet to receive their attachment via my email. The First Lady said " We only hire the very best people ".....duh! Why wouldn't Robert Half and Associates hire the best people "? I know that and I have used their services for temporary legal positions years before although I've always worked permanently for law firms working both sides of the fence in multiple laws. She said she would send me a form to fill out to my personal email ( which I gave her) . I never received it. A few days later I called again and got another lady and she was a bit more professional. As well I quickly conveyed my legal experience and my personal experience with the prior telephonic conversation with the first lady. As we say in law " this is not rocket science "! This lady seemed more astute I admit and again she asked for my email to send me a form to fill out and resend it back to her. Again, I NEVER received any email from her and now I wonder what kind of help they are hiring? Robert Half and Associates in the past has always been a very professional company. So, as of now I doubt I will use their services anymore. If you're new to the legal profession be very careful where they might want you to work. I wish I could give them a great review but that would only be disingenuous to say the least. read more

I have most recently worked with Hollis Wilson from the Westwood branch and have not had a good experience with her. I reached out to her for help with finding a temp assignment after being out of touch with Accountemps for a few years while I was working full time. I contacted her via LinkedIn and she responded immediately and even called me the same day. Within a day or two I got a call from an associate of hers, Shah Modiri, with an assignment. I had expressed to Hollis that I was only interested in temporary assignments at the moment so when Shah presented the assignment to me I wanted to know the end date. Shah did not give me a definitive answer but instead assured me that it was only temporary and would last no more than 6 months. At the same time my daughter had gotten sick and I ended up having to take her to urgent care and scheduling several followup doctor appointments. Because of the uncertainty of the length of the temp assignment and my daughter's health I decided to hold off on the temp assignment until my daughter was better. I emailed Shah before the start of my assignment the following morning to let him know that I could not take the assignment. A couple of months went by, my daughter was much better so I decided to reach out to Hollis and Shah to let them know that I was available again. No response from either of them. I sent them several emails and also messaged Hollis via LinkedIn. They both ignored me. So I then sent an email to Robert Half customer service expressing my grievances and magically I got a phone call from a new associate who sounded eager to help me. Also about a month later I got a generic email from Hollis "checking in" and reminding me about the $100 referral bonus. I emailed her back letting her know that I was looking for temp work again and she responded right away. She let me know that she would be calling so that we could discuss what I am currently looking for. However when she called it was a different story. She started off disputing what happened with my last assignment that I turned down when my daughter was ill. She also proceeded to tell me that I do not have a good track record with them because I have reported when I was not happy with (shady) assignments they've placed me on in the past. Excuse me, this is a temp agency and I am a temp so I can express when I am not happy with an assignment, that's the point. I have worked with Accountemps many times over the past years and completed several assignments, but suddenly those don't count. I have always accepted assignments and showed up for the first day with the exception of this last time when my daughter got sick. I have always felt that they just wanted to get me in the office so that they could collect their commission. They didn't care about the environment I would be in and a lot of the times they never even visited the site to see what the working conditions were like. So on a couple of occasions I showed up to find an uncomfortable working environment and I immediately let them know, which is what you're supposed to do. Now all of a sudden I'm the bad guy. In my opinion, Accountemps does not care about their temps, they only care about the commission. Proceed with caution. I'm sure with the right Staffing Manager you could have a good experience, but I have not had one in many years. read more

I would call this agency on a daily basis seeking work, any work they could provide me with yet they continued to tell me they had no work for me. Completely incompetent. I had been dealing with Andrew Esguerra, he almost cost me my job. He would misrepresent offers on the table and make false promises. He was never able to follow up on job offers, he only did once I asked him to since I was not able to do so myself. In addition, when I was curious about finding new employment, I reached out to him clearly asking him not to contact me at work but in my cell phone since I did Not disclose me leaving to my employer yet. He pretty much called my work place and left a message with the receptionist stating that his call was in regards to the job I had been interested in. I would send emails telling him to NOT contact my workplace. He would disregard them, not reply or acknowledge them and call my workplace anyway. Stay away from Robert Half Legal. read more

About a year and a half ago, I moved to LA with no job. Two months into job searching, I discovered that temp agencies were a thing (why did I never learn about this option in my higher ed experience?!) and stumbled upon OfficeTeam. Samantha and her team got me some assignments (the first of which, I met Snoop Dogg, which was cool) and I felt less stressed about about income while still having the flexibility to job search on my own. Nevertheless, one of my assignments, I ended up staying long term at, until they ultimately hired me. I had a GREAT experience there, but was then unfortunately laid off the beginning of this year. So my first call after that was to Samantha and her team to see if they could reinstate me. They were super understanding and helpful, and called me whenever they had assignment that fit me. I had the most pleasant experience with TCG! Compared to other employment agencies they: - Have better job listings - Match you with very fitting options - Follow up with you weekly - Um...actually help you land a great job? Yeah, they do! The recruiting manager I got to work with is Darren Hattingh, and I highly recommend requesting him if you do decide to go with TCG. Darren was always super responsive to all of my emails and calls, and was truly eager to find me the best position out there that suited my level of experience. He didn't waste my time with random job opportunities just to get the job done, and actually took the time to get to know my background and goals - something that other agencies failed to do. We only focused on realistic options and were able to land me my current job which honestly doesn't even feel like work because I love it so much! I also got to work with his boss - Carol Schenkler - who was equally enthusiastic about helping me land where I belong. Again, I can't stress enough how this agency differentiates from others. They made me feel that like a VIP client and were very transparent about opportunities. One thing that also stood out about Darren is that he continues to follow up with me and give me additional advice even though it's been over a month since I've started my new job. It's refreshing that an agency doesn't just view you as just another check mark on their todo list, but actually takes time to follow up and make sure that you're getting what you deserve and continue to aim higher. Their interview process is great..video interview and paperless onboarding.  After a 2 interviews I accepted a temp to perm opportunity which was ideal since I wanted to be sure I'd work for a company I'd enjoy. Fast forward 90 days later,  I've excepted a perm role. The entire Office Team has been great. Samantha was great with getting me on board, Kayla was very responsive to me emails, Taylor was great following up on my progress...and so many others for other branches that listened to my needs and not sugar coat an opportunity they were presenting to me. Robert Half (The Creative Group subsidiary) I've been registered with The Creative Group for well over 10 years now and I've been a professional graphic designer/production artist/art director for 17 with a wide range of experience, professionally employed and a contract employee for as long as well. In all of that time I was never placed even ONCE, let alone seriously considered for any positions that I applied for, which has numbered in the HUNDREDS over the entire length of experience I've been a 'member'. Even after MANY attempts to contact them, both on the phone and via email, no response and no feedback. So to say my experience with The Creative Group was uneventful, frustrating and unfullfilling would be a gross understatement. One would expect a certain level of professionalism and communication with a creative staffing agency like this that supposedly prides itself as a great resource with excellent communication and service. Nothing could be further from the truth. At least as far as the Los Angeles/Westwood branch is concerned. And this includes AT LEAST 5 agents who've attempted to communicate with over the years. Their lack of professionalism, poor communication skills and ultimately, lack of any customer service at all, including, most importantly, their incompetence as a creative staffing agency, would not allow me to recommend them to anyone this side of a homeless vagabond. Even after sending them 1 final email (to all 5 agents and the main office) with my complaints fully and completely explained and detailed, I never heard back - not even a follow-up, an apology or any kind of acknowledgment whatsoever. read more

Nobody wants to write a bad review, but I feel like I should state my opinion here in case anyone else goes through the same problem(s) I had to endure. I guess we can start with the PROS: they work with great clients, have a wealth of information on how to do well in the interview process, and actually ask really good questions during the first initial chats. The assessment tests aren't too bad either. CONS: most people at this office are extremely bad with following up and keeping their promises. They basically lie to their teeth when they say they're gonna follow up with you about the next upcoming steps after introducing a client/opportunity. I mean come on people, even if your "client" has passed on us, it'd be nice to be informed and not have to wait in the dark. I've talked to numerous OfficeTeam recruiters about this issue and they've all said the same thing, "I'll make sure that doesn't happen this time around," -or something on the lines of that. In any case, I think the people here simply just care about making a placement (aka money) in lieu of their candidates. It almost seems like they treat you like a piece of paper versus an actual human being with actual professional skill-sets. I guess that's all I have to say. This must be the first time I've truly expressed my anger towards an organization. read more

Absolutely horrible! I submitted my resume and pertinent information to them as a seasoned, creative professional and have yet to reap the benefits. Every time I inquire about a job that I am more than qualified for they lack communication. I was under the impression that they place creative individuals with the proper skill set in companies that have a need. Yet, they are very unprofessional and do not even so much as return a phone call or e-mail. Hopefully their client's will see my review and realize how much they lack effort with job placement. Listen people. We live in LA with millions of people all shooting for the same jobs, so it is natural to work with a placement agency to have a better chance of landing work. I have had the most amazing experience at Creative Group with Jessica Buck. Literally a superstar. I have worked with a lot of agencies, and she by far has shown the most compassion and treated me like a person and not just another name on her roster. I mean seriously, she told me happy birthday, frequently follows up with me on new opportunities and any placements I've landed. We need more of her! I met with Sharone and Lara yesterday for logins and admin access, and have a conference call today in a half hour about creating a content calendar for their social media.
