A great resource if you're interested in temporary work at a low level of the administrative world. It didn't work well for me on account of my two degrees and mile-long resume, so they could never pair me with a suitable position - it was always an assistant role that I would've taken 20 years ago. Still, it was a good source of cash and helped get me an opportunity that ended up being like a lily pad. I'd call this a good survival source of income - which can be important if you're in a tight spot and you need 'something.' It might also be good for newbies to town, to the work world. A good way to get your feet wet - just don't expect any future reliability or stability. Also, always know that the assignment (even long-term) can end literally on a dime so don't ever take their word for an assignment's length. My recruiter kept claiming that my assignment would run for several months but it did not. Maribel Flores is a nice young lady. read more

Our company had been working with Apple One for many years. The past year they sent us an employee for Temp to Perm contract. We paid the upfront fee along with the "Guarantee Plan". The candidate turned out to be a fraud, but the bigger issue was that Apple One would not honor their guarantee. We tried to reason with Maribel Flores extensively, to no avail. One might think that a business relationship for many years would at the very least have Apple One trying to make things right, even if they were unwilling to honor their guarantee. There was absolutely ZERO effort made to make things right (and I do mean zero effort). To add insult to injury, they even had the audacity to try to collect on the rest of the contract fee after their candidate bailed. We got screwed for the large fee we paid upfront, and their fraud of a job candidate is what I share as evidence to suggest you find a better agency to find an ethical, quality job candidate. read more

Love this staffing agency. I first started working as a temp in 2015 and highly recommend to all. My advice is to keep constant contact with your recruiter, communicate your goals and skills as they will place you appropriately. However, I got an email from Anna Browne Robinson one hour before our scheduled time that my interview was canceled because it was her lunch time. Why would you schedule an interview at the lunch time at the first place? It shows the company's priorities and that they don't value your time. I'm following up on my original Spring 2022 review due to events which occurred in the months after its original publication (and to include details which I forgot to put in the original review and can't now since the edit window's closed). I'm going to corroborate Refreshing L's subsequent review from June 2022 -- specifically their complaints about AppleOne's inability and refusal to take responsibility for their misconduct and to make amends to clients wronged by such mistakes. This similarly happened with me following my previously recounted experience. Once it became clear Maribel Flores was a lost cause, I appealed to a higher power: Regional Manager Jan Coll, who had originally assigned my account to Westwood and to Flores. I filed an official complaint and made it clear I could not work with AppleOne at that time. I WOULD be willing to collaborate again down the road with another manager/branch, but I could NOT work with someone like Ms. Flores -- someone who'd irrevocably proven to me that they were unreliable, uncommunicative, and untrustworthy. Now, as the Regional Manager, Coll has oversight of the Westwood Branch and she as good as vouched for Flores by assigning my account to her. If one of her subordinates was pulling shenanigans and was unable or unwilling to do their job, then Coll HAD a responsibility to get involved. And if she had done so and asked if I would be willing to collaborate with another branch/manager then and there going into 2022? I probably would have said yes. Instead, Coll chose to do absolutely nothing apart from a cursory acknowledgment of receipt. There were no apologies for her subordinate's behavior, no offers to place me with another branch, nothing. That was the last time I ever heard from Coll. When I reached out to her again in May 2022) to look into possible account reactivation, my messages (4 over the course of 2 months) were completely ignored. I don't know why, but I just can't shake the feeling this was retaliation for my filing a complaint (and how it reflected badly on Coll as Flores' supervisor). If that WAS indeed what happened, then the irony is that Coll's deliberate silence left me little recourse BUT to file an official complaint against *her* (and as it stands, I will NEVER work with Jan Coll again now). That would have been my very last communication with AppleOne...until, shortly thereafter Maribel Flores FINALLY reached out to me after 10 months of silence -- or at least in a manner of speaking. She reached out...in the form of my email address CC'd on a mass email for current temp opps. To say I was unhappy she would have the utter gall to do this after what had happened the previous Fall is an understatement. I responded and reminded her of what had happened and of my official stance: I could work with another manager, but NOT her. More, I reasonably felt I was owed answers for her misconduct and why she had been unable or unwilling to do her job (especially when I had VERY much needed those work opportunities we had discussed). Now, like Coll, Flores too had a choice here. She could have taken responsibility for her actions, provided context, etc. I would never work with her again, BUT it would at least repair some of the damage to the client-agency relationship. Instead, just as she did in Refreshing L's testimonial, Maribel Flores made ZERO efforts to set the record straight, apologize, or to make things right. Instead, Flores blew me off and ghosted me AGAIN -- an act of petty spite which, of course, ironically vindicated all my points about her original misconduct. It also resulted in me having to file ANOTHER formal complaint against her for the second time in less than a year. Once it was submitted, I cut ties with AppleOne for good this time. Ultimately, I'm left baffled again by what the hell went wrong here. I don't get where these positive reviews of Flores and this branch are coming from -- especially as, based on Refreshing L and Susan D's reviews, it sounds like our shared experiences were the norm rather than the exception. I also don't understand why AppleOne management's tolerating/enabling this. You're losing clients, money, and good PR every time your account managers pull this s**t. HOW is this a sustainable business model? Brian Speigel's 'PR outreach' campaign on these recent Yelp reviews is perhaps the best answer to this riddle. I made the mistake of responding over on the ACT-1 Entertainment Solutions reviews and it was an utter waste of time and energy. His response, or lack thereof, leads to one conclusion: That AppleOne cannot and will not fix such systemic problems. The rot and dysfunction go too deep in this agency. So, I stand by my original 2022 review: I did not have a good experience with AppleOne and thus I cannot recommend working with the agency, this branch, or this recruiter. read more

Just got off the phone to quit AppleOne. I don't do yelp reviews but I want to help people avoid this place like I wish I could have done. I was really hopeful in the beginning and willing to look past the bad reviews. I was desperate to get out of retail work and enter "Corporate America" I went to an interview with Dani who made me feel very confident in their ability to find me a good job. A job that I would excel at and love. I left feeling excited for the future. That was over two months ago... Every time I would email them to see how the job search was going they told me they would "Keep in touch" or that they sent my resume to a great sounding position. Only to not hear from them again. There were a couple of one time positions that I wasn't able to attend because they wouldn't let me know until a couple hours before it began. So fast forward to last week. They sent me a position for $12/hr in Calabasas. Keep in mind I can make $13.75/hr (LA Minimum wage) anywhere else. They set me up at a phone COLD CALLING people on their CELLPHONES to have them complete a survey. I called nearly 200 people in 4 hours and (Of the small percent that actually answered) not one of them wanted anything to do with me. But that's not the worst of it, AppleOne sent a couple other applicants with me. The nice lady sitting next to me told me that she had just had her first interview with AppleOne that morning and they sent her to this job right away! I don't know what I was waiting 2 months for! I very angrily called the agency today and only after I started yelling they offered to find me positions for $15/hr. Well if you were going to do that you would have done it by now. Goodbye I really wasted my time with this temp agency. I'm writing this review to try to save someone else's. read more

Awful experience. Ms. Lisa Henderson lacks the necessary skills and etiquette to be considered a recruiter. I feel it would be best to speak with Ms. Henderson and advise as to how it is inappropriate to bring someone in for a potential job and it is no longer available. This can be said via e-mail or done with a phone call. Candidates time should be considered as valued especially when in search for a job. This was wasting ones resources and could have been used better elsewhere. Allowing a candidate to travel up to an hour to have a 3-5 minute conversation doesn't look that favorable. Bother enough to care about your candidates instead of being a salesman. read more

Every time I have spoken with a "recruiter" through this particular office, they tell me that my resume and skills are a fit for several clients at that time, yet they never call me in to interview. I can't even get them to respond d to my emails after an initial call. To give you an idea of how ridiculous this office is, in the last 9 years I've received responses from them regarding my resume, I've spoken with 13 different "recruiters". I've gone in to physically meet/interview with 8 of them. I've been told that they have jobs for me. Then I never hear from them. Recently, I sent a follow up email asking about a position she said would be a good fit. Didn't hear back from her in over a week. Just sent a follow up email asking her to provide me the professional courtesy of either helping me in my career search or telling me she is no longer able or willing so I can spend my time working with recruiters who can/will assist me. read more

Lady that interviewed me by the name of Mayra Murcia was 4 minutes late . My interview was supposed to start at 1130 am . Interview started at 1134 am . I didn't like her attitude because she kept requesting a resume and being pushy about the whole situation of when I would send it to her . Her attitude in general was not up to par . I ended the interview early and said I was no longer interested in proceeding with finding a job through this staffing agency . I feel that when I tell someone I will get back with them and send them something it should be left alone . I wouldn't recommend this person to anyone else !!! Apple One was contracted to help us staff several office management positions, but I found the thoroughness of the vetting of candidates to be sorely lacking. We do a better reference checking of our caregiver positions than they do for management positions, it would appear. I had to specifically ask for references to be redone when colleagues, not supervisors were presented as references, and basics such as language proficiency and writing abilities were not properly vetted. Candidates had undisclosed personal issues that resulted in their departure from Sonoma County or lack of fundamental stability which impacted their ability to perform their job duties. These should have been identified in the interview stage by them. The old adage of three strikes and you are out applies. I will not due business with them again. read more

I was really excited about working with AppleOne because my previous manager had said they had found her a steady job a few years ago. I went here on Yelp, and read almost all great reviews on Blake and the company. I connected myself with them, and we completed all the necessary interviews and paperwork. They even went so far as to say I might be a good fit for their actual office. I did another interview with the manager there, Jan, and she seemed quite straightforward and kind. Not sure yet what direction I wanted to go, I held off from pursuing their office position, and waited to see if anything else would come up. I received a couple calls from Blake- she informed me of some positions she thought might work and said she would apply for me to them. After nothing coming to fruition, and significant time passing, I decided to say yes to the position in their office and try to move ahead that way. I filled out the almost 5-6 page application, answering all sorts of questions about my personality, goals, etc. It took a significant amount of time and I really put thought into what I had said. I submitted my application to Jan and anxiously waited to hear back. And waited. And waited. After over two weeks, I reached out to her through email and asked what was going on with my application status, and that I was disappointed I had not heard anything. I never actually received a reply from her. I also emailed Blake expressing my frustration. On any job prospect through her, I had received no update regarding my status. Even further, a position in their own office which THEY had suggested me for, and asked me multiple times if I was interested, I received no feedback whatsoever after I applied. I have never worked with a staffing agency so I wasn't sure what to expect. Clearly I'm not perfect myself and we all have our shortcomings. However, I feel when someone is job searching, especially for months on end, it is very important to update them on where they stand- to me it seems like that is part of the service that should be offered. It just seems like common sense. I was involved with another staffing agency in a different city, and they were able to locate me a job here in West LA- got me an interview, told me how to dress, provided me a map (?!), and prepped me for the interview through phonecall and email before I went. This was the only job they lined me up with, and I was offered the position hours after the interview. I'm not saying Blake and Jan are doing a bad job (I think the opposite), but they boasted to me that their staffing agency was the best. I have to say, through my experience, I do not feel that is true and I think there is much room for improvement as far as communication- which, I expressed to Blake, and she told me it was my responsibility to reach out to them for updates. I will not return to AppleOne and will not recommend them to friends. Also, the other staffing agency proved to me they do not all operate the same.
