First off the coaching staff are caring, helpful, knowledgeable and give lots of positive coaching. Secondly the workout design is great. Always a good dynamic warmup followed by a single structured workout. I have traveled to many other gyms and many of them seem to lose the small gym crossfit camaraderie that ACF prides themselves on. There is no massive classes and impersonal coaching going on here. Ginger and all the excellent coaches provide alternative exercises if you have mobility issues. So much of CrossFit is about mobility, and not necessarily strength. The coaches at G-Theory are incredibly supportive and genuinely care about proper form above anything else. Its members are encouraging and welcoming, which makes each work out enjoyable. Not only is Shelby VERY knowledgeable about the body and diagnosing areas of strength/weakness/injury, she also is very passionate about helping you see and feel results. I worked out with her twice a week for about a year all the way through the final few weeks of my first pregnancy. She (and Pilates) really helped me prepare for having a baby physically and mentally. There were many days when the nausea and exhaustion that can sometimes come with pregnancy would make me want to miss a class, but I knew I would be encouraged and glad to have made it once I got to spend time with Shelby and Brooke. I couldn't imagine what I would be like without having been introduced to Pilates. If you're looking for a work out that is carefully designed for your level of experience, or even just a new way of thinking about how your body is designed to maintain proper health, then certainly I would recommend Studio Six. I've been to many other yoga studios, taken lots of gym classes, and worked out with trainers, but Shelby tops them all in terms of knowledge about the body and health. This is by far my most favorite gym ever!…read more(And I've been to a few!) it's not just your average gym, they have different classes each day of the week but they also have a gym in the back where you can work out on your own too. it feels more like you're getting a personal trainer but in a class setting and I LOVE that! Some days we do legs or abs or arms/back, etc. and some days we play dodgeball to warm up (how awesome is that!) or do assessments, it's never boring and always a blast! The staff is awesome and the owner Jessica is a total rock star. She gave me a meal plan and tons of tips to help a girl out. If I could give this place 10 stars I would! I was a sporadic exerciser, only making it to the gym maybe once or twice a week. I cannot stand running in the same place and staring at the same wall wondering, "When on earth will this misery be over?" Also, gym crowds really aren't my style... nothing personal, it just seemed like every gym that I have ever gone to has those who believe that it is a meat market. So, after Stuart telling me a few times that I should give Fit Force a try, I caved in and went. I have loved it ever since. To start; The classes are held outdoors, in a shady area, at a park in Auburn. The classes being outdoors is really nice, especially if you, like me, are cramped inside an office all day. The classes start with a warm up session that gets your heart rate up: (When I went to my first class I swore that the warm up was a full fledged cardio activity... guess I wasn't in top notch shape) After the warm up period, Ashlie introduces you to the circuits for the day. The bootcamp is broken down into different circuits or segments that target the different areas of the body. Sometimes Ashlie incorporates games or team activities, just to mix it up a bit. During the circuits you are constantly moving, so its a great mix of cardio and weight training. All of the classes end with a stretching/cool down period, which is really nice, especially after grueling it out for an hour. The day following a bootcamp I always feel sore, which means that I must have been doing something right. i guarantee that if you come to bootcamp and commit yourself to the exercises and push yourself, you will see results. You will by physically stronger, your body will transform, and you will mentally have so much more energy. On top of all of the benefits, the owners really are just great people. They care, they communicate, and they know what they're doing.
