This place was outstanding! The owner herself served us and she was so friendly and personable. The wine selection is incredible and the light bites and charcuterie were so delicious and fresh. I can't wait to come back again on a night there is live music!

The Hidden Cellar When pulling up... it doesn't look like much... a small strip center in the heart of Cypress off Fry Rd... the website said live music and it had non bar like food... It was softly lit, accenting off the wood floors and rock arches ... I walked through to the small bar in the rear, finding the only empty seat. The patrons were having lively conversations, the music of Mike Carey was in full gear, the atmosphere was a throwback to when I was a kid, watching my Dad jam out... I decided on a glass of Seven Daughters Moscato, as my first two choices were discontinued. (Temptress Milk Stout and 7 Spanish Angels coffee ale). The specials of the night were a mini charcuterie board, with choice of two cheeses and house made tacos. I love smoked Gouda and couldn't resist the Hatch Chili Cheddar. It came with crispy unleavened crackers and a mix of unsalted nuts, dried cranberries with mini dark chocolate squares, great starter. The full size tacos came out fresh made. Flavorful, not too spicy, although they offer jalapeños and Cholula if you'd like. All I needed was a little salt. Both the bartender (sorry, forgot his name) and the manager came over to check on me. Very nice, hometown feel. The music was indeed classic 60's, 70's and 80's, even on the patio area outside. This is a great date night or small gathering spot for those that love live music and warm vibes.

An amazing wine selection, and the service, is amazing.

I love this place . They are 21*, which is clearly stated on their door. They have live music Thursday through Saturday. It may be quiet when you first come in, but wait a bit and usually a lively crowd will drift in.

We have been to every wine bar in Cypress and Spring, and this one is the best by far! Very relaxed atmosphere.

I tried making reservations online all week but couldn't find an option. I even called the day of and no one picked up, so I was a little nervous walking in without a reservation. Thankfully, they were able to seat us right away--apparently a lot of reservations had canceled or no-showed. The place itself is super cute. Not too busy when we first arrived, but it definitely picked up at one point. Everyone was friendly when we walked in, and the wine specials were amazing. I ordered the Pinot Noir flight, and for the price, it just made sense--totally worth it. Now the food... SO good. Everything was reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. We tried the empanadas, the ceviche, the mussels, and I got the steak with shrimp (not sure the exact name). It came with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and honestly it was phenomenal. I'd come back just for that dish alone. I definitely want to return for happy hour and maybe another girls' night. The only downside: our first server. I'm not sure if he was flustered, annoyed, or just having a day, but his energy toward our table was not it. We came out to relax and get away from attitudes at home, not to deal with more. He seemed impatient and uninterested, didn't offer recommendations, took our order and rushed off, and overall treated us very differently from the table next to us--who he was super sweet to, even giving them a hug at one point. I was the first one there and he was nice initially, but once the rest of my friends arrived, his whole demeanor changed. We asked for a different server, and that made ALL the difference. The second server--the gentleman with the bald head and beard--was phenomenal. Patient, helpful, friendly, and made us feel welcome. 100% recommend sitting in his section! Overall, the prices were reasonable, the drinks and food were delicious, and the vibe was great. I'll definitely be back--just hopefully with a smoother reservation process and NOT with that first server. Happy hour and steak night, here I come!

Hubby had the short ribs with carrot puree and cauliflower mash which was a puree too and a small piece of meat with gravy. Not worth the price. The empanadas were good tho and the flights were impressive. I will stick to appetizers and wine next time if I ever go again. Overpriced.

The woman who greeted us upon arrival was super friendly and gave us a great warm welcoming, perhaps she was the owner or manager, she had us choose wherever we would like to since they just opened, which was nice. The service itself wasn't the best, it was my friend's birthday and the server interrupted us over seven times in the middle of our conversation to ask if we were ready or if she could move the dishes out of the way, which she could've done easily without asking. Since we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time, it would be easy to see if we were ready to order, maybe it was our waitresses first time, I'm not sure. I asked if I could substitute the pasta which came with the mahi mahi with a side salad and they weren't able to do that, that they could not substitute the pasta side for a salad. I instead tried to order the caesar salad with filet and she said she couldn't do that either, and that it would be "very expensive" if I did order a filet on the side, which I wouldn't have minded paying for? A good filet is worth the price, but she steered me away from that. I ordered the lentil soup instead and it was delicious, but it came piping hot and had to wait about 10-15 minutes for it to cool to be able to eat it, and by that time, my friends were almost done with their dishes. :( The calamari was a delicious appetizer, very light and crispy and the dip was yummy too, I would order this again and highly recommend. I tried my friend's dishes, and they were also incredibly tasty. I don't think I would come back here solely based on the continuous interruptions of our conversation numerous times, it was quite frustrating and it made the restaurant seem far more casual than it initially seemed.

It's been quite a long time since I was here and as I was in the neighborhood I decided to stop by again today. Remembering how good they were last time, I ordered the Oma's Frikadellen (grandma's recipe for all-beef meatballs). I like a good German meatball and these were tender and juicy. There was a choice of red cabbage or sauerkraut as a side; having confirmed they made the sauerkraut in-house themselves, had to order that because I know it's super healthy to eat. Better yet, that sauerkraut was almost perfect with a great flavor, but not too tart and just really a delicious version. Honestly I could've eaten a huge bucket load of that sauerkraut and I may buy some to go someday just to have it on hand in my refrigerator; a slight warm and it would be a wonderful side to serve guests. Dessert was a wow! I wanted to try a dessert that they made themselves and so I couldn't help but go with one of the dessert specials of the day. There were several options available not on the menu and although it was tempting to try the tiramisu or one of the three versions of crème brûlée they make, I decided to go with their homemade limoncello cake which turned out to be a delicious choice that I'm very happy about. Waiter Ty said it was one of his favorite desserts here and I could taste why -- moist cake, flavor-filled filling, whipped cream and with blueberries to decorate the plate. In fact it was so yummy that I decided that so someday soon I would order one with a couple days notice and then take it to my family's place next time I go over for dinner - what I don't know is whether I'll tell them the truth or try and pretend that I made it myself LOL :-) Update: the next day I did call to order an entire cake and it didn't last very long once the family dug in, got gobbled up because it had an intense great lemon flavor, wonderful.

The dinner for four with tip: $166! No alcohol! Not returning for this. The service was poor and he argued about asking the chef for bread. He WOULD NOT ask and said, "you know the French". Whatever that means. Too many great places around for far less. On the way out another customer leaned in and asked about the escargot. She questioned if they were fresh. UGH.
