So I went to see Kim April 30th. I would have left a review the day of, except that I am always curious as to how nice hair looks even a week after the initial treatment is done. I got just a regular trim and split end treatment done. I had never gotten a split end treatment done before, so for those of you who are unfamiliar with it, she straightens your hair at the end, but it doesn't stay straight forever. I honestly thought it was a blowout based on some research on google. I bought the Paul Mitchell 'Hot off the press' spray (as recommended) for when I straighten my hair (heat protectant, $25). I also have Revlon's Diamond Oil that I use when I straighten my hair and it feels dry and my little baby hairs stick up. It makes my hair feel silky smooth just like after I left Kim's salon, but it's expensive and I bought it at Ulta. Kim also advised to use sulfate free shampoo (which we should all be doing). I use Shea Moisture products as well as a hair masque by Shea Moisture once a week. I also use a Cantu leave in conditioner regularly and lightly. I also went swimming like two days after the treatment, and I know chlorine dries hair out, so blegh. Protect your hair. Kim is extremely personable and it really isn't hard to get comfortable with her. The whole process took about an hour and she gives really good advice on how to take care of your hair after and basically all the time. I also admired how excited she was for my reaction of the finished product, and it's hard to find hair stylists these days with the same enthusiasm and passion. My hair is fine and medium thickness and wavy (if that helps for those who have different hair types, but if you text Kim, she's great at answering questions and giving advice) I completely recommend her to any one!!! Kim is very nice, but I was pretty disappointed with my experience. I did not receive the hair color I had asked for, and was not even shown the color that was being put onto my hair, or a sample of what the outcome would look like. While my hair appeared slightly healthier after my appointment, it looks about the same as it did before. Not worth $90. read more

Hairstylist Kim very unprofessional. Had an appointment and she never asked me to straighten my hair before the appointment . Then I was in WOODLAND it was 15 minutes until my appointment and she's said I needed to straighten my hair otherwise she wouldn't be able to do my hair. I believe it was common curtesy to let clients know what they need to do before an appointment. Never again will recommend. Then I apologized that I didn't straighten my hair which wasn't even my fault . & she tells me she would charge me to straighten it. $35 just to straighten my hair . I think not . Even after it wasn't even my fault she has the nerve to charge me. So disappointed . Bad customer service. Definitely telling other girls about my experience. read more

I had high, extremly high expectations about this salon considering all of the nice instagram pictures the owner posts. Don't get me wrong, Kim is a nice person and all but she should really work on owning her work, especially after the client isn't happy with their hair. Hair is huge for some people including myself, and now it is going to take me almost a year to get rid of this damage. I was very happy walking out of the salon with my new haircut and split end treatment. I purchased the sulfate free shampoo and followed directions by not washing it frequently, however with my first wash (which was 3 days after my treatment) my hair had become extremely dry and very frizzy. I understand different hair has different reactions to various treatments but this was very disappointing considering i had expected my hair to stay silky smooth for atleast a few weeks. It felt like i had spent $100 and a few hours just to get my hair straightened for a few days. I definitely dont have any more split ends, but where all my ends have been sealed with the treatment have just poofed out and is a lot more stubborn to manage than it was before walking into the salon. I am currently using different oils to restore my hair back to how it was and unfortunately i dont think i would go back, though i know this works marvelously on other hair types. read more

The best experience I have ever had with a stylist! Kim is such a joy to be around, she is energetic, friendly, and has always been there for the rescue! When I first started going to her my hair was badly damaged because of bad dye jobs styling etc...after she started to cut and color my hair it revived!!! She knows how to achieve the color you want with out damaging your hair. Kim is very knowledgeable, she had great tips, and product recommendations to help my hair get back to health. Whenever she cuts my hair she always understands exactly what I want and does just that! Another time I needed a hair rescue was when I very last minute needed an up do for a friend's wedding.
