We were visiting friends who live nearby and based on their recommendation, came here for dinner on a Sunday night. We hadn't been here since before the pandemic. We remembered it being a reliably good place for pub food, especially remembering a lobster bisque and a French dip sandwich they used to offer. The food today was unrecognizable. The open-face steak sandwich wasn't actually open-face; it was just served open on the plate. It featured low-quality meat, full of gristle. Most of it was left on the plate. The seafood "scampi" was very strange, with a lemon and Parmesan sauce over perhaps the worst risotto preparation I've ever seen. Again, most of it was left on the plate. The chicken fingers for a child at the table looked like frozen food but bad frozen food, with more breading than meat. Half of it was left on the plate. In terms of service, no waitstaff checked in on us to see if everything was to order. No waitstaff came around to refill water glasses. Meanwhile, two waitresses stood around, watching the room. Everything is overpriced. The meal was more than $100 for one shared appetizer, three entrees, one kids meal, and three sodas. They do offer a 5% discount if you post a review on Yelp, but I didn't want to share this with them. We won't be back. read more

My wife and I stopped in here for a quick meal before a show at the Ridgefield Playhouse. The place was packed, but the service was quick and excellent. The menu was very versatile and has more selections than most restaurants across a wide range of cuisines. I am impressed that the kitchen can handle all of these options. We were both happy with out meal selections and the food preparation was also excellent. Prices were reasonable as well. I would definitely return for another meal. read more

Unfortunately, this place did not live up to the Yelp reviews. It's too bad, because I had bookmarked this spot a while ago and was really excited to try it out. For appetizers, we did fried pickles and the st. Paddy's egg rolls. Both were clearly frozen and flash fried, and the egg rolls (albeit frozen) were not good. Fried pickles were okay, but a ton of breading. For my entree I did the meatloaf grilled cheese. The meatloaf was very tasty, but the sandwich was short on the cheese and the bread was stale. Our server was very nice, but she was very busy since she was running the entire floor (maybe someone called out?). I won't be trying this spot again, but do hope it was just an off night for the bread (Jared's pretzel roll for his burger was also stale). read more

Fairly small, apparently popular with the locals. The food was unfortunately pretty mediocre. The menu is huge, which usually indicates a lot of frozen food, and I think that's what we have here. I had the St. Patty's Spring Rolls, expecting a Reuben-style roll. They had very little meat and some kind of carrot/cabbage mix I think, but no identifiable flavor. The fried pickles were heavily breaded and not very dill. Skip the pretzel bun burger... the bun was so dry I took it off, and was surprised to find a teeny little piece of meat underneath. Disappointing, but the bacon on it was crispy so point for that. I don't eat in Ridgefield often so can't say if there is anything great in the area, but you might want to look first. read more

I drove out from the other side of the state to meet up with my friend and he brought me here. We didn't feel like waiting for indoor dining so we opted to eat outside. It was a bit chilly out so we got some warm soup and let me tell you, their French onion soup is cheese pull magnificent. The Zuke fries are great to share between friends, and I loved the corn salad with grilled shrimp. The pom martini could have been a little more flavorful, but it certainly warmed me up. read more

We went to this restaurant for the first time tonight. It had a very big menu and was hard to decide but we chose the fried pickles to start and then the fish and chips. The fish and chips came with a nice salad as well as cole slaw with our meal. The fish was lightly breaded and very tasty. It was served with fries and everything was served hot. We decided to have desert and had the fried Oreo sundae for two. It was great. Our server John was the best and the restaurant was very comfortable maybe a little noisy but not bad. Drive by this place all the time when running around Ridgefield but never stopped in. Finally had a chance on a random Weds and really enjoyed it. The menu is extensive so takes a bit to figure out the order but they were quick with drinks to tide us over while deciding. We tried a few of the appetizers and enjoyed each very much. My guest actually got so full on apps there was no main ordered. I went with the kick n chikn sandwich and it was delicious! Place was not crowded at all and had a cool vibe inside. We were looking for a place to eat after going to a local art museum. It said gastropub which really enticed me. When you pull into the parking lot it looks like a hole in the wall and you don't believe it's a restaurant bar, and there aren't that many tables. That said the food was amazing and the selection is fantastic. I had the brisket chili and parmesan truffle fries and they were awesome. I would definitely come back because they're such an extensive menu. The staff is very friendly and I had to ask for one extra thing with my meal and it was brought very quickly. I never write a review but I had to complain about my pickup order. my corned beef reuben was the worst i ever ever had. The meat was tough and i would be embarrassed to serve it. I can't believe the chef allowed it to go on bread. it was disgusting. The other meal , the seafood pot pie was awful too. It was mainly potatoes and was like mush covered by some kind of dough. rather than driving back and asking for a refund i did this review. Never again will i order from the hideaway. read more
