We stopped in here for breakfast on Mother's Day. It was very crowded which I expected. Luckily the wait was only about five minutes. There's lots of tables including the countertop. There is a small amount of parking in the front, and a lot more in back. They have two entrances for both parking areas. The service was great. All the employees were on top of their game considering how crowded it was and the pressure of it being Mother's Day. I was very disappointed in the food. I got a breakfast burrito. Very bland and not enough salsa for my liking. The home fries inside had no flavor. They give a side of home fries with the burrito. The only reason I finished the home fries was because the homemade ranch dip they brought out. I give the ranch 5 out of 5. I would consider coming back for lunch or dinner but wouldn't come back for breakfast. read more

Ordered food for delivery. Our food was delicious and actually hot. The only things that kept this Diner from was just a few small preference things for me. My wrap came with french fries however I was craving french fries with melted cheese and gravy. I would have preferred to be able to substitute the fries that came with it for a smaller side of the ones I actually wanted. In the wrap the green peppers for my preference were not cut small enough for me. My husband ordered the chicken fingers as You can see from my pic they were golden brown, crispy, yet still juicy. My order the steak wrap was nicely filled with steak, green peppers, mushrooms, and some nicely sautéed onions. Finally was my craving of the night french fries with melted cheese and gravy. These were perfect - the right amount of cheese and gravy. 100% recommend Red Colony Diner. read more

Be careful ordering door dash. Almost every order I've made is incomplete and this last order they sent me was wrong entirely with ingredients I am allergic to. I had a very specific well instructed order. A burger with all the veggies on top. It's really not that hard to comprehend. I'm so upset with how much they lack care for their craft. If I wanted sloppy frat house food I would have stayed home. There is nothing more disappointing than eating a meal out that could have been better cooked at home. The nachos were burnt on the edges and only contained cheese and black olives, sloppy thrown together and lazily assembled- it was missing onions and tomatoes. (Which the waitress failed to rectify) The cheese quesadilla had an abundance of uncooked, raw chunks of onions that made it hard to eat (if your planning on kissing someone I highly recommend you steer clear - otherwise it's Ogre nation). To be ignored by a server who could care less about customer service and didn't have the decency to refill an elderly woman's water is just next level lackadaisical (when it's dead inside - wouldn't you want to be attentive to customers) it was just overall an underwhelming and frustrating experience. However to leave on a somewhat positive note, the star of the show was the French fries and that's just sad when you realize they resemble Ore-Ida crinkle cut fries. Will definitely be taking my business else where, being high wouldn't even help make consuming this food more enjoyable, when it's barely edible. Walked in through the back door, as the small lot out front was full. We waited by the counter for someone to help us. We were eventually greeted, told them a table for 2, but was then told to go to the front and someone would help us. No one else was waiting and no one that worked there was by the front, but eventually someone came out. We were seated quickly. I ordered 2 eggs over hard with hash browns, rye toast and corned beef hash. My husband ordered 2 eggs over easy. Our food came out quickly. My eggs were not done over hard, they were runny, so I had to wait for the waitress to check in. She took them and brought them back quickly cooked more. The food was good. So so disappointed. I thought the food was really good during their grand opening week. Well, that was then and this is now. I ordered a burger and it did not taste like the one in my initial review. It was standard and just ok. Maybe they switched to lower quality meat source. The burger looked and tasted like a pre frozen Patty. The coleslaw wasn't cold and was just ok. My sister had a grilled chicken wrap that had big chunks of flavorless chicken. My father had to send his stew back because it was thick gritty. The staff was nice and so they switched it to pot roast which was worse. It tasted like cheap quality meat reminiscent of old institutional fare at a hospital. Nice decor. Comfortable seating and excellent service but the food stunk. I had the chicken souvlaki today on my first visit to the restaurant. It came with french fries (mostly little stubs) scattered over the top of the souvlaki so that you had to eat the french fries before you could get to the souvlaki. They should've been on another plate. Weird. The chicken in the souvlaki was not good. Tough, overcooked, and I would say processed with some kind of brine wherever it was packaged. Green peppers undercooked. The pita and tzatziki sauce were good. This diner is at a convenient location and I liked everything about it, except for the food. Husband and I decided to try the Red Colony for breakfast. Coffee was hot, but the food was lukewarm bordering on cold. I had to send back my omelette dish because the cheese wasn't melted and the eggs weren't even closely warm. Also, the food seemed to lack any sort of seasoning. It was bland. Perhaps it's start up issues coupled with the Covid restrictions, but basic restaurant rules of hot food being hot, cold food being cold, are universal requirements nonetheless. read more

Ambience and staff are okay but the food is just bad. The person I was with got the hot turkey platter - said the turkey was dry and the mashed potatoes tasted like paste. I ordered the fried chicken platter after specifically asking if it was white or dark meat. The waiter told me it was "half a chicken" which I take to mean one piece each - breast, wing, thigh, leg. What I got was 2 thighs, I wing, 1 leg. When I pointed it out to the waiter, he argued with me that one of the thighs was a breast (spoiler alert: it wasn't). He finally went back to the kitchen and told me they would make me one. When it came out a few minutes later (after the rest of the meal was done), it was nicely deep fried and crispy...on the outside. The inside was still frozen. To their credit, they didn't charge us for the fried chicken, but I can't imagine ever coming back. read more

What was simply amazing was the Challah French toast, available with Vermont maple syrup on request. Three long and thick slices perfectly made. When I mentioned it, the owner informed me that the Challah is baked on premise and showed me three for sale! AMAZING! I'm so glad a diner has finally opened up in brookfield. The food was delicious, we got the turkey club w/ fries, and order of pancakes, and the steak and cheese. The turkey club was perfect, nothing wrong with it. The pancakes were PHENOMENAL, i have never had the perfect amount of sweetness and moistness in a pancake. The steak and cheese was also wonderful, once again nothing wrong. The ambiance of the place is very cool too, they play good oldies, and the decor matches perfectly with the place.
