We recently dined at Sea House while staying at Napili Kai Resort with our family. On Friday evening, we had a wonderful experience -- the food was excellent, and our server was prompt, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. She made great recommendations, and we were genuinely excited to return the next day. Unfortunately, our Saturday visit for happy hour was a completely different experience. Our server appeared very distracted, and our food arrived significantly later than tables seated well after us. The overall atmosphere became increasingly uncomfortable. What concerned us most was witnessing what appeared to be a manager ( a gentleman) confronting staff about alcohol being served to our server while she was actively working. We had no idea alcohol was involved, but seeing this situation unfold in front of guests at what is supposed to be a quality establishment was unsettling and inappropriate. Sadly, we will not be returning to either the resort or the restaurant after this . The situation felt disorganized and unprofessional, and ultimately unacceptable. read more

Used to enjoy - will never go back! Nice location with a beautiful view, but the experience was not up to the natural setting, Sat at the bar and the service was beyond disappointing. Staff was very inattentive and got aggressive and dismissive when a conversation turned to faith. Management claimed there was a patron that was uncomfortable with the conversation and was asked to leave. Security was called in and the fine security gentlemen was equally surprised by the request and suggested it was better to just leave than argue the complaint. The place was nearly empty which suggests I am I am not the only person to experience the lack of hospitality you might expect from such an otherwise ideal location. What a disappointment. read more

OMG I found my happy spot. Was searching for a scenic place for happy hour. Located in the Kapalua area just north of Lahaina, parking is easy and the views are breathtaking. Expect to wait to be seated for happy hour which runs at an early 2:00 - 4:45. I came by myself since daughter wanted to hang out at the beach, which is also walking distance. There is a waiting area in the back while you wait for a table. I sat back there for a while but then checked in the main dining area and lo and behold, a high table opened up. I recommend sitting here for a better view of the ocean. Beer on draft for happy hour is an affordable $7 and features local ales. I got the Kona Light Blonde Ale which went well with the poke nachos ($14) and calamari ($9) that I ordered. The poke nachos consisted of three chips topped with fresh poke. So don't expect nachos in the classic sense! The calamari was a bit more substantial with a furikake crust. Sea House restaurant lived up to being a happy hour indeed. read more

Came on a Thursday at 3:30PM for happy hour and had no wait for a seat on the outdoor patio. We got the chicken wings (sweet and sticky with good flavor), crispy calamari (we liked that they were strips ~ our favorite), kalua pork tacos (pretty good size for happy hour!), sliders (beef patty's with kalua pork ~ the pork flavor overpowered the rest of the burger) and hurricane fries (these were okay, the only one I'd skip if we went again). I love seafood, if you knew me, it would be an understatement. I however can't eat pork. Every dish on the menu, except for a very select few all has it. Tonight to get a different sauce for a pasta dish wasn't worth the fight, so I ate it "as is". The food is 4 stars, service as attentive as our souix server (water refills) was on point, our actual waiter was a little off... The ambiance is why you come here. The views of Napili Bay and the frozen coconut mojito ftw! For outdoor dining you need a reservation, but we had no problem snagging a tale for 3 in the dining area still with a good view of the bay. The food is fine, but yes it's expensive. Entrees were the $40+ price mark. Service was good and they start you off with free bread. The cocktails at $17 were pricey, but the coconut mojito was tasty. Overall, expensive, but solid enough and magical for a sunset. You could easily get a poke bowl from the market down the street and a bench blanket but if you're looking for a dining establishment, this is a solid option. read more

Service from Megan was great, gave us some water and some bread then mentioned the Saturday evening special of Prime Rib, We opted for the King cut to share, and ordered their calamari and some cocktails, ambience of the place was on the waterfront, but you have to walk a path before you get to the actual restaurant. The Sea House delivers one of the most effortlessly beautiful dining experiences on Maui. The ambiance alone while looking right into the ocean is breathtaking. Service is friendly in that effortless Maui way: warm, relaxed, and genuinely attentive. You feel taken care of. So much beauty yet just 3 stars? Yes, we may have ordered the wrong items. Let's get into it! Calamari- We thought they were cheese sticks. We learned that it's a different part of the squid, it's the body part! Known in Hawaii and served as such! Who knew! Mahi Mahi Sandwich-blackened mahi on a brioche bun. Mine was chewy, super chewy I almost thought they brought me chicken. Did not like at all! Crab Club- He chose this because we love crab and maybe we should have known we are spoiled living in DC-Maryland-VA, he ate it but I didn't get any ooohs or ahhhhs from him and he never reviewed the place, so yeah no bueno. Had the absolute best experience at the sea House restaurant with my family while visiting Maui! The service was excellent and definitely go right before sunset to get a nice golden hour photo on the beach. I got the macadamia nut kanpachi 10/10 so so good! Seahouse: one of my favorite restaurants good views,great food & iced tea . 2 things needed: 1.This is where I had to sit last night. Not a small rip in the bench, had to eat on edge/corner of the table to avoid jagged edge, large tear. Very disappointed, pls take more pride and repair the rips, not the only one. Plus staff are aware tips are there. Where is the management? 2. The acoustics are VERY loud, they need to add noise reduction so people can hear the person talking-sitting next to them. Really hoping they read this and respond with corrections. As I said: one of my favorite places and I tell lots of people to go there too read more

Did some exploring on Yelp and the Sea House came up and after researching wanted to give it a try. Really wanted something special for our final days on the island of Maui. I made a reservation but wanted to get there way early to walk around and grab a cocktail before we sat down. What a great location overlooking the beach and a small bay. The staff was friendly, helpful and very accommodating and because we were way early for our reservation they gave us the option of sitting at the bar and dining. What a fabulous idea because the view was incredible, with open air surrounding the bar. Victor our server and the bartender was very friendly and took great care of us. We were able to enjoy our meal and take in another spectacular Maui sunset from where we sat. Cocktails were their own spin on some regulars and very refreshing. The Sashimi was so fresh it could literally melt in your mouth, wedge salad was Perfect to share and very good. The onion soup had a unique flavor and I wasn't sure if it was the local Maui onions that gave it that uniqueness but it was delicious. My entree was incredible, I am pretty sure this was the first time I have had Monchong fish, but it was so moist and flaky and then to put a pesto crusting on it just made it "Ono" served on a bed of risotto. Crazy good-well done Chef you knocked this one out of the park. Coconut shrimp was cooked perfectly and made with the larger count shrimp, served with the perfect Chili Tai sauce. We really wanted to dine at a place that had that old school charm, and we found it here at Sea House. Live Hawaiian style music in the background by a solo artist completed our dining experience. A "fantabulous" evening done with class set in a beautiful natural theatre. Bravissimo Sea House you made the evening special. When on the Kaanapali coast and you want that classic dining experience this is your place, BUT make a reservation. read more

Napili was not the first beach I visited on this day but it was the beach I was at when realizing that part of the lunch we'd planned to pack had not been packed. Lucky for me that Sea House Restaurant was a short stroll across the sands of Napili. Sitting like a beacon, inviting you to end your day here, Sea House Restaurant is a place you can walk into sandy. I did, was told there'd be a wait for a table, and went out to a back patio to wait. Soon I was summoned: "we have seats at the bar". At first I was saddened, thinking I wanted a table, then sat at the bar only to realize it was the best seating in the place. Just look at that view. Happy hour here is good, as is service. We enjoyed: * Poke Nachos ($14) * Caesar Salad ($8) * Hurricane Fries ($7) * Mai Tais, and Aloha Bites (cocktails, $12 apiece) * Lahaina Haze IPA ($7) There's actually parking here, for those not just wandering over from the beach. Saturday brunch at the bar watching the waves crash into Napili Bay, made even better with great service. We always get the bennies and hubs kept the tradition going with their basic bennie with ham and hollandaise. I decided to try something different as I always order the veggie bennie, so I chose the sweet potato frittata in a sriracha sauce. It looks a little like a layered lasagna but with egg, cheese and sweet potato instead. The sauce was odd though, hence the star off. The chipotle hollandaise is great on the bennies, but this sriracha sauce was too sweet, almost like a dessert, without much of a hit of chilli. It tasted like an overly sweet spaghetti sauce with a dash of sriracha. Not my fave. But the frittata was delish with plenty of Molokai sweet purple potato which I enjoy. Hubs bennie was classic and like magic it disappeared! The veggie bennie used to be $15 but it has gone up to $17 recently, but you still get Kamaaina rates if you have a HI license. I really like this local restaurant on Napili Bay, especially brunch or happy hour at the bar. read more

Went to try this restaurant after seeing the happy hour advertised on maui happy hour app. I walked in and was ignored by hostess staff when I asked where to check in for a table. Our less than enthusiastic waiter took our orders but returned quickly with our drinks. If I knew how small and over priced the poke "nachos" were, I would've never ordered them. The "nachos" are three wonton chips topped with a few pieces of fish and loads of seaweed salad and other less expensive ingredients. The taste of the nachos were quite good but I believe it is really bad false advertisement calling them nachos. The hurricane fries were topped with very little ingredients and needed a lot more sauce/furikake. The sliders were decent and the only thing of decent size. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone look for a substantial snack unless they are there strictly for the views and drinks. read more

We were staying at a nearby resort, and one of the other guests recommended we try this restaurant out, so we did... And, we're glad we did. We dined here for breakfast and for lunch on two seperate days. First off, you can't beat the views. It sits just above Napili Bay and the sunsets here are amazing. Secondly, the staff was very friendly and helpful in making food choices. Finally, the food. Both times we had meals that were very good and well-priced for being both a resort restaurant and on the island. Let's start with breakfast: I ordered Peles' Potatoes and asked to have an egg on top... these potatoes are definitely for sharing... by at least 3 - 4 people. Seriously, it's a huge portion but so loaded with flavor you can't help but keep eating it even when you're full. Hubby ordered Da Kitchen Sink which was also a generous portion and again, lo aded with so many amazing flavors. I had ordered the Macadamia Cinnamon roll, which was amazing, to finish after breakfast, but we ended up taking that back to our room along with our doggie bag to enjoy later. A couple of days later we went back for lunch. I had the Fish Island Tacos and Hubby had the Fish of the Bay Sandwich both of which were nice and flaky, not dry and very full of flavor. I did prefer my Hubby's fish sauce to the picante given with mine for the tacos and the server happily accommodated my request. I do recommend. Definitely would come back again if we stay in this part of Maui again. read more

January 11, 2026 and we came by while waiting for our room to be ready. Luckily we found a place to park. It was just before 2pm and happy hour was about to start (end at 430pm). With in 5 minutes we were offered a choice of places to sit and chose a tall top table in the bar area with great ocean and beach views. We were promptly given menus and soon chose a my Mai Tai and a Nepali Orchid and both were as good as they had been in the past. The sweet onion soup was delicious and thankfully it is still not crazy salty. Once again, the calamari was good, but the coconut shrimp was even better. There are no menu substitutions or changes during happy hour and it does state that on the menu. Unfortunately, that means you cannot get a different condiment/sauce. Came here with some high expectations since I seen a number of good reviews on this restaurant. The views are what sells this place but we thought the food quality was just okay and we expected better based on their high price point. My husband ordered the surf and turf daily special on Sundays. He ordered it medium and it came to the table more well done and dry. Very disappointed as he was looking forward to a nice steak and lobster dinner. The quality was like going to a sizzler or fast service place and not a high end eatery. I was also looking forward to having the monchong since it is rare to see this offered but later find out the monchong was not available and was being substituted with the more common mahi mahi. While it was okay, the preparation was not very flavorful or special given the price point. We were also seated near the corner next to a door that we later discovered was the door to the outside restroom so people were coming in and out of the door throughout our entire meal! Sometimes bumping into my chair. One of the servers kept the door propped open so the cold air was constantly blowing on us since the evening was a bit wet and cold the night we were there. Service was also very slow especially when trying to obtain our check. Overall, outside of the nice view, our overall experience was not very pleasant. Maybe this place is better suited for breakfast, lunch or happy hour based on reviews I've read but our dinner experience was less than desirable for the higher price point. read more

The restaurant itself is near to the ocean, the tables in front have an awesome view of the beach. Pro tip; get a reservation at 6 pm to catch the sunset. We started with the balsamic Brussels sprouts. They were roasted nicely, good flavor and charred well. Hubs had the filet mignon and said it was delicious and cooked to his liking. I had the Hawaiian fish with jasmine rice and it was fresh and tasty. We were able to watch the sunset while finishing our meals with a crème brûlée, delicious!
