Taverna on kapalua golf course is lovely restaurant with that country club feel. Think wood grain floors, walls, tables and polo shirts. They have a full cellar, clever bar concoctions along with the classics and good service, from the hostesses, waiters and bar tenders. The food is fresh and local, a bit of an Italian lean on their predominantly local fare. They advertise using local fish caught by local fisherman. The ahi tuna was fresh, the sides were tasty, and nothing was done to ruin the excellent cut of fish. The Onaga or red snapper was the fish of the day and it was perfectly pan fried, tasty and simple with a side of steamed vegetables and rice. We enjoyed the vibe, the service and food. Pricey--not surprisingly so given the location--but not unaffordable for a lovely date night.

The lasagne- get there early to order it as this was the last piece that evening!

Taverna is my new favorite dinner spot in Maui. Service is not the fastest but my husband and I like to enjoy our dinners at a leisurely pace anyway! Love the upscale club vibe and the live music. Alejandro was our waiter-he gave us great food and wine suggestions. The truffle gnocchi is superb!

Love Taverna! We had a larger party and were seated quickly overlooking the "T-Off" zone as the golfers say. Food was amazing, most of our party got the Catch Bowl. All desserts were great too. I recommend the Drunken Affogato and Truffle Fries!

Cauliflower steak, rice and carrots. 4.5 stars out of 5.

Service was great! Food was very mediocre for the price. Missing the seasoning. Scallops were a little overcooked. Caesar salad was good and the cauliflower steak was very good. Really expected the most expensive item on the menu ( shrimp and scallops) To be amazing-it wasn't. The ambience was very loud but aesthetically pleasing. Can't remember our server but she went to college in Arizona and was by far the best part of the evening!

We walked over to Taverna from the Ritz-Carlton and were immediately impressed by the beautiful setting overlooking the golf range. Highly recommend sitting outside for happy hour or dinner to take in the view. The food did not disappoint--our table had the ahi steak, meat pizza, and filet mignon, all of which were delicious and well-prepared. The ambiance was relaxed yet upscale, making it a perfect spot for a great meal. If you're a wine lover like us, bring your favorite bottle! The corkage fee is $35, which is reasonable for the area and well worth it to enjoy a special wine with your meal. The only reason I'd give a 3.5 is the service. Younger staff that was a bit green and slow. I think this is an area of improvement that could be easily enhanced.

OBSESSED! the view is amazing the customer service is 10/10 and the food is absolutely amazing. we had the rack of lamb and the shrimp and scallop dish as well as some appetizers, everything was incredible and delicious. Our server O, was very polite and very knowledgeable about the menu!

Speciality pizza, pasta carbonara, and special house made pasta with prawns...

Had dinner here tonight....there were some good things, some meh things, and some things just done wrong. Pros: servers were friendly, some food items (meatballs and specialty pizza for the day) were executed well. Good flavor, nice crust on the pizza, tasty marinara sauce on the meatballs. Cons: service was slow and most of what we ordered, outside of the pizza and meatballs were not that good. Pasta dishes (evening special and pasta carbonara) were overcooked (mushy), evening special had prawns, good sized ones, but overcooked as well. Was a huge disappointment as it smelled really good when plates of it walked by our table! We struck a conversation with table next to us, and they also noted overcooked shrimp (rubbery). Overall, a disappointing meal with a few glimmers of decently cooked dishes, thus a 3 versus a 2.

Our waiter took our order, never brought my wife's glass of wine; then after we had waited 25 minutes without getting anything, he stopped by to ask us how things were going so far. We were baffled: "We haven't received any food or drinks yet." Another 10 minutes later, he showed up again, apologized and said the restaurant's manager had said their order-entry system had gone down and that our order would be one of the first to go in w/the tech running again. Then another 25 minutes passed, other tables got their food, and we sat empty-handed. Two of our party finally complained to multiple staff; our waiter said to calm down and that our food would be ready in another 10 minutes (seriously?); and very soon thereafter, our food finally arrived. No apologies from the restaurant, no follow-up on why the order took another half-hour after their system was allegedly running again, no sign of our appetizers or wine. We were OK w/those last details because after waiting more than an hour, we were ready to leave. Our order finally arrived more than an hour after we had placed it, and the food was fine. After the meal, I asked three employees if I could speak with the manager; each was evasive or said he's hard to reach. Finally, our waiter claimed (no idea whether this is true) that they had no more kitchen staff, the owner was cooking all the food, and the restaurant was due to close in the next few days. That was in late December 2025, so if Kitchen 5315 is still open in 2026, save yourself the misery and avoid this restaurant!

Extremely Disappointing Experience, Especially for a Montage Property!…read more We dined at Cane & Canoe last Monday Jan 5th and unfortunately had one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had--particularly given the prestige of the Montage brand. We planned this dinner carefully. Reservations were made well in advance, originally through our hotel (The Ritz-Carlton), and I personally spoke with Cane & Canoe twice beforehand to ensure everything was correct. The reservation confusion began before we even arrived in Hawaii. On Thursday, the restaurant called to confirm a Saturday reservation, which we never had--we were arriving Sunday and had booked Monday. I immediately called back, asked them to cancel Saturday, reconfirm Monday for three people (2 adults & 1 toddler), noted that it was two birthdays (my husband and my young son), and requested a high chair. Despite this, I received confirmation text for both reservations on Monday morning and had now 2 reservation on Monday a party of 2 and a party of 3, I received a call for confirmation, which I then clarified everything one more time before arrival. When we arrived for our Monday dinner at 5:30pm: * There was no acknowledgment of the birthdays * There was no high chair available, and it took quite some time for staff to locate one * The service was inattentive from the start Our server (his name on his name tag was Juan, however went by John, or Steve--I honestly don't recall) appeared disengaged and uninterested in being there. Rather than focusing on service, he spent time telling us what wasn't available: * Several menu items were "out" * A wine my husband ordered was unavailable * He claimed there was a pineapple shortage across the island, which was baffling given that our hotel had plenty of pineapple available all week This constant emphasis on scarcity set a negative tone and felt unnecessary. More importantly, service was extremely lacking. Our water and wine glasses sat empty. No one checked on us. We had to flag down other staff for assistance. There was no effort to make the evening special--or even pleasant. This wasn't just "bad service"; it actively impacted what was meant to be a birthday celebration for my husband and son. We are frequent Montage guests at other properties, and this was our first time in this part of Maui. While we were not staying at the Montage Maui, we chose Cane & Canoe expecting the level of hospitality the brand is known for. What we experienced was shockingly below standard. After dinner, I went to the concierge to share the experience. They apologized but could not do much beyond that and suggested I speak with management (I didn't have a desire at that time to spend more time on the negative), but instead I told them I would write a review! For the price point, the brand reputation, and the expectations that come with a Montage property, this restaurant falls incredibly short. The food itself was unremarkable--but the lack of service and care was the real issue. I would not return to Cane & Canoe, would not recommend it, and honestly would think twice about staying at the Montage Maui in the future based on this experience alone. Extremely disappointing.

My cousins ordered cocktails and our server was so kind to let them know if they weren't happy with it, they could exchange it which they did. The first course of delicious appetizers was the Caesar salad with anchovies and the Kahuku Sweet Corn Agnolotti with Keahole lobster! That was so buttery delicious and small enough to make you want more! The homemade taro rolls with butter, oil and honey was a nice accompaniment. Our second course was just right portion wise and savory. My cousin even said he was full, which never happens since he loves to eat! We enjoyed the 48-hour Wagyu Prime Rib which was so tender and easily cut with a butter knife. Yummy dollops of potato purée and broccolini were beautifully placed around the meat. My other cousin enjoyed his Shrimp Scampi with fresh house made tagliatelle, capers, Kula tomato and basil. The dessert course was a great way to end our meal. I got the Pineapple Upside Down cake with a scoop of Ube Ice Cream, biscotti crumble and Kula Rum Caramel. My cousin's panna cotta was made with local Maui Kuia Chocolate and chantilly cream with a tuile that had light sprinkle of black pepper. Overall, a wonderful experience and only $79 for the 3 courses! We will definitely be back.

I made a reservation but wanted to get there way early to walk around and grab a cocktail before we sat down. What a great location overlooking the beach and a small bay. The staff was friendly, helpful and very accommodating and because we were way early for our reservation they gave us the option of sitting at the bar and dining. What a fabulous idea because the view was incredible, with open air surrounding the bar. Victor our server and the bartender was very friendly and took great care of us. We were able to enjoy our meal and take in another spectacular Maui sunset from where we sat. Cocktails were their own spin on some regulars and very refreshing. The Sashimi was so fresh it could literally melt in your mouth, wedge salad was Perfect to share and very good. The onion soup had a unique flavor and I wasn't sure if it was the local Maui onions that gave it that uniqueness but it was delicious. My entree was incredible, I am pretty sure this was the first time I have had Monchong fish, but it was so moist and flaky and then to put a pesto crusting on it just made it "Ono" served on a bed of risotto. Crazy good-well done Chef you knocked this one out of the park. Coconut shrimp was cooked perfectly and made with the larger count shrimp, served with the perfect Chili Tai sauce. We really wanted to dine at a place that had that old school charm, and we found it here at Sea House. Live Hawaiian style music in the background by a solo artist completed our dining experience. A "fantabulous" evening done with class set in a beautiful natural theatre. Bravissimo Sea House you made the evening special. When on the Kaanapali coast and you want that classic dining experience this is your place, BUT make a reservation.
