Let's start by saying the food here is amazing, the burger is a must try, the calamari and all the sushi rolls were fresh and amazing, my daughter loved the Korean wings and had them two nights in a row. They had live bands and singers every night. We came here with family and really enjoyed ourself. Now in regards to service, all the servers were amazing!. And as far as the bar...One night we had a date night and came back to bar for some drinks and I must of have a few because I left my Chanel bag there, and the guys turned it in. So big THANK YOU for that. If it would have been anywhere else I probably would have never seen my bag again. I wish I could remember the name of the bartenders that night, but they were great, so friendly and we had a great time with them.

This was our nightly sanctuary during our stay. It's so comfortable to sit and enjoy a drink or a nosh while listening to live music. Each night there is a lovely sunset service. Drinks range from around $9 to a bottle of wine for $200 plus. Food is between around $10-75. The food, drink and service are tops. Hours are 4-9pm. You can find their menu online view the hotel website.

We only came here for drinks and it's definitely overpriced but what do you expect at the ritz Carlton? Great views, good service, and decent live music. But the Mai tai itself was very average. No comparison to the Mai tai at monkeypod. The only reason to go there is to chill after a swim in the ocean. Sunset ceremony was not worth waiting for.

First stop after check-in at The Ritz Carlton Maui, the Alaloa Lounge. Upon entering, we grabbed 2 seats at the bar to enjoy some cocktails to kick-off #vacation2022. We were promptly greeted by our super friendly bartender, Dustin. Not only does Dustin make great drinks, but he gave us some great recommendations for restaurants in the area. The lounge has plenty of seating, but according to the staff can get pretty packed when there is a special event besides the regular nightly music. We came in too lat to enjoy the entertainment, but looking forward to catch some during our stay at the resort.

Service is a little unwelcoming. As I sat at the bar I was immediately told that food wasn't available. This was at 4pm and the sushi spot opens at 5. Order a couple of drinks. Sadly I don't think I got the correct drink. It was supposed to be some Gin Lychee concoction. The Gin was supposed to be a Japanese gin I drink regularly at home and either they used an eye drop to serve the gin or they used some minimal amount of speed rack gin. Had a couple rolls for dinner. Fairly generic options. Tried the calamari. Interesting Korean spicy aioli (not really spicy). The holland peppers were a nice touch.

My favorite seat is typically at the bar. The level of hands on service, vantage view of cocktail artists at their finest and conversing with others makes this the fun seat in the house. If you're searching for the same thing, look elsewhere. This was our last night on the beautiful island and we decided to splurge a bit. We ordered: *Rainbow Roll ($34): Tuna/ Hamachi/ Salmon/ Shrimp / Crab /Tobiko / Avacado. Excellent quality of fish and generous amounts of Avacado. *5/5 *Spicy Tuna and Hamachi Roll ($34): Jallepeno/ Scallion/ Micro Greens. Fish again wonderful quality and a super Roll. *5/5 *Dynamite Roll ($30): 1/2 California Roll / Scallop/ Shrimp/ Tobiko/ Dynamite sauce. The flavors were very complimentary but I didn't understand as to why the sushi was presented in a small bowl. The tight container of the bowl left the sushi like a hot soupy sushi. Very unappetizing and the texture of the rice was that of rice pudding. I would have like to have enjoyed the dish presented as a typical layout, laid out on a flat plate with the Dynamite sauce then poured over so to not make the sushi a messy, hot soup. *2/5 *Apple Cheesecake Lumpia ($14): Lemongrass / Caramel. Think of it like a wonton dessert with a pleasant apple taste and yummy Caramel goodness to dredge your bites in. We throughly enjoyed this dessert. (*5/5) ***Don't make the same mistake and expect discounted Happy Hour prices. Expect to pay a hefty amount with the name Ritz-Carlton attached. Overall, our drinks and food were very good, not phenomenal. The varying level of service from wait staff seems to depend heavily on your status quo and you risk receiving subpar service if you're not of the desired class and look which I really thought we could be over by now. Our bartender really seemed disinterested in conversing with us outside of taking our order. Doesn't typically bother me unless I notice you're extra friendly with all of your other clientele. We waited extra time in between our drinks while he warmed up the people all around us. Next time, I'll return to other restaurants that warmly welcome our presence.

We love it here! Such a beautiful setting with great views and wonderful food! We had several sushi rolls which were delicious and the octopus was fabulous! We will definitely make this a must have whenever we are here!

Got a killer sirloin burger here and the fries were amazing. Seriously, the fries. The bacon and white cheddar were nice on the burger too. Yeah, it's pricey. But the view!!! The service from Dustin was nice too. I forgot to take a picture because we just devoured it. Oops. But that should be the most honest and convincing review I can post. Mmmm.

Oh the ambiance and vibes were EVERYTHING. After a day of traveling we checked into the Ritz and chilled out before dinner. The dinner vibe at Alaloa with live music set the tone for our next 4 days and we couldn't have been happier with the service Zach provided.

Israel is an amazing mixologist and a super nice bar tender. I ordered two Coconut Fevers and they were excellent. I also ordered a burger (I forgot which one) and fries. I was splitting it with my friend so the kitchen sliced the burger and separately plated the slices along with the fries and a pickle for each of us. Overall, service was great and the burger was delicious. The fries did not disappoint!! Atmosphere was relaxed and there was generally someone singing/playing live music in the late afternoons. Why the 4? ONLY because I didn't enjoy paying $24 for a burger and fries. For $24, I expect to be spiritually moved somehow. I expect to get a background on my beef including a rundown of his lifestyle, habits, and proclivities.

Garlic chili edamame. 3/5. Tastes like it is everything bagel seasoning instead of garlic /chili flavor.

Mediocre food. Good atmosphere and vibes with a view over the pools and grounds. Service is okay depending on the time/day. The first day we sat down and had to go to bar for drinks twice because no one approached us to take our order even though we could see waiters going around to other tables. Bartender told us to seat ourselves so not a host issue. We got the spicy tuna roll and creamy popcorn shrimp Roll. Spicy tuna roll- Basic, nothing special - 3/5 Shrimp roll is just California roll with popcorn shrimp on top. The shrimp needs far more sauce. The only thing you can taste is the dough it was fried in which tastes like funnel cake. You could've told me there was no shrimp inside, that it was just funnel cake dough, and I'd have believed you. 2/5 - can't believe it was $30 for that.

Our waiter took our order, never brought my wife's glass of wine; then after we had waited 25 minutes without getting anything, he stopped by to ask us how things were going so far. We were baffled: "We haven't received any food or drinks yet." Another 10 minutes later, he showed up again, apologized and said the restaurant's manager had said their order-entry system had gone down and that our order would be one of the first to go in w/the tech running again. Then another 25 minutes passed, other tables got their food, and we sat empty-handed. Two of our party finally complained to multiple staff; our waiter said to calm down and that our food would be ready in another 10 minutes (seriously?); and very soon thereafter, our food finally arrived. No apologies from the restaurant, no follow-up on why the order took another half-hour after their system was allegedly running again, no sign of our appetizers or wine. We were OK w/those last details because after waiting more than an hour, we were ready to leave. Our order finally arrived more than an hour after we had placed it, and the food was fine. After the meal, I asked three employees if I could speak with the manager; each was evasive or said he's hard to reach. Finally, our waiter claimed (no idea whether this is true) that they had no more kitchen staff, the owner was cooking all the food, and the restaurant was due to close in the next few days. That was in late December 2025, so if Kitchen 5315 is still open in 2026, save yourself the misery and avoid this restaurant!

Extremely Disappointing Experience, Especially for a Montage Property!…read more We dined at Cane & Canoe last Monday Jan 5th and unfortunately had one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had--particularly given the prestige of the Montage brand. We planned this dinner carefully. Reservations were made well in advance, originally through our hotel (The Ritz-Carlton), and I personally spoke with Cane & Canoe twice beforehand to ensure everything was correct. The reservation confusion began before we even arrived in Hawaii. On Thursday, the restaurant called to confirm a Saturday reservation, which we never had--we were arriving Sunday and had booked Monday. I immediately called back, asked them to cancel Saturday, reconfirm Monday for three people (2 adults & 1 toddler), noted that it was two birthdays (my husband and my young son), and requested a high chair. Despite this, I received confirmation text for both reservations on Monday morning and had now 2 reservation on Monday a party of 2 and a party of 3, I received a call for confirmation, which I then clarified everything one more time before arrival. When we arrived for our Monday dinner at 5:30pm: * There was no acknowledgment of the birthdays * There was no high chair available, and it took quite some time for staff to locate one * The service was inattentive from the start Our server (his name on his name tag was Juan, however went by John, or Steve--I honestly don't recall) appeared disengaged and uninterested in being there. Rather than focusing on service, he spent time telling us what wasn't available: * Several menu items were "out" * A wine my husband ordered was unavailable * He claimed there was a pineapple shortage across the island, which was baffling given that our hotel had plenty of pineapple available all week This constant emphasis on scarcity set a negative tone and felt unnecessary. More importantly, service was extremely lacking. Our water and wine glasses sat empty. No one checked on us. We had to flag down other staff for assistance. There was no effort to make the evening special--or even pleasant. This wasn't just "bad service"; it actively impacted what was meant to be a birthday celebration for my husband and son. We are frequent Montage guests at other properties, and this was our first time in this part of Maui. While we were not staying at the Montage Maui, we chose Cane & Canoe expecting the level of hospitality the brand is known for. What we experienced was shockingly below standard. After dinner, I went to the concierge to share the experience. They apologized but could not do much beyond that and suggested I speak with management (I didn't have a desire at that time to spend more time on the negative), but instead I told them I would write a review! For the price point, the brand reputation, and the expectations that come with a Montage property, this restaurant falls incredibly short. The food itself was unremarkable--but the lack of service and care was the real issue. I would not return to Cane & Canoe, would not recommend it, and honestly would think twice about staying at the Montage Maui in the future based on this experience alone. Extremely disappointing.

That was so buttery delicious and small enough to make you want more! The homemade taro rolls with butter, oil and honey was a nice accompaniment. Our second course was just right portion wise and savory. My cousin even said he was full, which never happens since he loves to eat! We enjoyed the 48-hour Wagyu Prime Rib which was so tender and easily cut with a butter knife. Yummy dollops of potato purée and broccolini were beautifully placed around the meat. My other cousin enjoyed his Shrimp Scampi with fresh house made tagliatelle, capers, Kula tomato and basil. The dessert course was a great way to end our meal. I got the Pineapple Upside Down cake with a scoop of Ube Ice Cream, biscotti crumble and Kula Rum Caramel. My cousin's panna cotta was made with local Maui Kuia Chocolate and chantilly cream with a tuile that had light sprinkle of black pepper. I understand that this is a tourist-centered area, but I cannot fathom paying $40+ for pasta... the serving size for most of our food was disappointing to say the least. The Alaskan roll had barely any fish and the rolls were not very big. It was falsely advertised to us by our waiter that a roll could easily feed 6-7 people. Please refer to the pictures below to reference serving size. - the food itself was not up to standard, especially for the outrageous price we paid for it all. The short rib wontons... first of all, I recommend Sansei changes the name of this dish because are a far cry from wontons. They did not taste good and there was barely any filling in them. The Alaskan roll tasted like only rice and cucumber. The cooked salmon was dry and came with a single jumbo shrimp... - our main waiter was rude, he did not seem to have much patience, giving us attitude and tone that did not feel appropriate. Conclusion: Overall, we were disappointed with our experience at Sansei. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, visitor or local, and we will not be coming back.

He knelt down and told us the specials. SO as far as service it was very good. My wife wasn't very hungry so she was looking for a small dish. She got the Caesar salad and it was good. She also got the Parmesan Risotto. It was actually a side dish. When it came out it was tomato based and didn't have any parmesan on it. I asked the server and he said it was infused with lobster sauce. which wasn't want she wanted. He asked to take it away but my wife said no and didn't want to bother with it. I really think it was the risotto that was connected to a special dish and not the side. I started out with the steamed clams. They were good flavor and I liked the sauce with it but some of the clams didn't open which is bad. they were a nice size to. Next was the pork chop wrapped in bacon. It was cooked and tasted ok. I just expected more from this place. The server came back and was apologizing about my wife's risotto and offered to take care of the dessert . So we got the chocolate lava cake. It was really chocolaty. This place was just ok.

After a long day…read moreof travel, we were looking to relax and grab some good food and the Hideaway was exactly what we needed. The staff is super friendly and helped us pick out some dishes to try. The Ahi Poke here was one of my favorite I had in Hawaii which I think is a bit surprising looking back, but the furikaka rice crackers that were served with the Ahi poke were amazing. I also loved the lobster mac which had an insanely good manchego cheese sauce and tender lobster through the dish. The Shishito peppers are a great app to share, an easy mild spice option for anyone.

More expensive than the Ritz, which explains why the entire bar was empty the entire time we were there. The staff are excellent, the free snacks extremely salty to make you buy more drinks, the vibe...empty, and the decor usual dark faux Hawaiian. I order the Kapalua Sunset cocktail, smokey Mezcal blended with citrus which was definitely interesting, but most of the cocktail was a large single ice cube so not much in the glass for $25. There isn't much of a view, or clientele, and it is drastically overpriced, even for Maui!

Walked in with my 6 year old daughter right at 5:30 and there was no one in the restaurant, and the asian lady totally ignored us, and the other you g server didn't think she could give us a table. She had to ask the manager. Finally they said we could sit outside. Asked for just a plate of pasta with butter for my daughter, but they said they could only do meatballs and dessert as an option. So I said meatballs on the side and no cheese, but they brought out pasta with tons of cheese and basil and meatballs to my daughter. They charged me $32 for "artisan pasta"! (See the pictures) I ordered the carbonara pasta and received gummy pasta stuck together with no seasoning or bacon. Pretty gross. The "wine list" was a couple of plastic sheets of way overpriced wines bordering on 6-7 times wholesale cost. I wanted to tell people coming in to avoid the place at all costs. It was laughable and frankly embarrassing to see this kind of awful 1980's style food presented like this. AVOID AT ALL COST!
