Best meal we had in Key Largo. Stopped in from our resort after reading that the food there was pricey for what it was. The Hideout showed immense value; the whole family loved it. Update: went back on last day - just as good. Our son got the same meal (country breakfast); I went a little off menu and elected to have chorizo on the side rather than bacon/sausage. It was different that expected; I thought it would be like a sausage whereas it was more like chile. It worked really well on my eggs and mixed in with my home fries. read more

We came here for breakfast after staying nearby. It was crowded on a Sunday morning, but we were sat quickly. Service was a little slow but they were very busy and they were friendly. The prices on the menu are pretty reasonable. I was going to order the bagel and lox for $16 but then I saw that the lobster Benedict was also $16, so I ordered that instead. I was disappointed though because the "hash browns" on the side were not the homemade kind, but a frozen deep fried cake. I was also disappointed to find that the "lobster" was actually a breaded deep fried mixture, like a crab cake. I intentionally did not order the crab cake Benedict because I don't like that kind of thing. My daughter ordered the breakfast sandwich with bacon and Swiss cheese. It was good, and pretty big, so she could barely eat half of it. There is a nice view of the water from the restaurant. The parking lot is pretty small. Recommend adding avocado for some added flavor, if you're looking for something spicy this isn't it. The side of grits was a miss- recommend a potato side for added sustenance. The seafood benedict with lobster was delicious! The chef expertly poached the eggs and provided a generous serving of lobster cakes. The side of hash browns felt store-bought which was a bit disappointing. Our only note is that the beverage options are limited for a breakfast spot. Great little hole in the wall restaurant with partial water views. Very relaxed feel with good food at reasonable prices. Certainly cheaper than most places you'll find in the FL Keys. Inside is diner style with soft music. It's certainly nothing fancy inside. Our waiter was very friendly. He recommended the Philly cheesesteak and onion rings, and neither disappointed. Affordable southern cookin' with a friendly & casual local vibe. Seriously cheap prices for the Keys. You even get a little water view and can sit on the wrap-around porch or inside. We came here on a day trip to the keys. My family ordered Hash and eggs, lobster omelet, Spanish eggs and biscuits and gravy. The gravy was a little salty but other then that the meal was delicious. It is a cute place on the water and we sat outside on the patio with our dog. There was a lovely breeze which just added to the entire experience. We have eaten here previously but only for breakfast. Decided to try the all you can eat Friday fish fry. The pics we were able to bring up showed $15.95 for this. I now understand those must have been older pics. It was $21 when we were there in May 2026. The $21 included 3 beers, but we don't drink beer and asked if that could be taken off the price and was told no. $21 for the meal whether you wanted the beer or not. We were there at around 6:30. The fish looked as if it had been prepared earlier in the day and was served at room temperature. To me fried fish should be crispy, not limp. Definitely not worth $21. Cool little Mom n Pop diner, nestled away at the back of a small development in Key Largo area. It ain't much to look at inside, but the service team is on point - friendly and attentive, and the cook knows his stuff because we all enjoyed the breakfast we ordered! Had not been here in about a year. Met friends from the mainland for lunch and sat inside. It was not busy in spite of being a Saturday. Zach waited on us and we were never rushed. Two of us had salads. They were chilled nicely and very fresh. One had an omelette and said it was also very good. There was ample parking and even shaded parking. My friends had pets (rabbits) with them, so parked in the shade even though they brought the pets inside . Ok, so the ambiance isn't great, it's a little hole in the wall place with great food and really friendly service. It's right by the water and you can see it if you sit outside. I had their version of a Rueben with a crab cake (they also offer lobster cake) for the corned beef and it was delicious. She had a blackened fish salad that was huge and she thought very tasty. We placed our order (scrambled eggs and an omelet), after 35 minutes waiting with no coffee or water refills we asked another server if our food would be out soon. The service and ambiance was great! The restaurants was tucked into the end of a side street and like the name was a really nice hideout from the Main Street of the keys. We pulled up and enjoyed the view before sitting in the indoor patio facing the the ocean. I ordered the Nova Scotia (Smoked Salmon, Capers, Tomato, Cream Cheese and a bagel) which I really enjoyed and my parents ordered eggs, home fries, toast and their choice of meat. My partner ordered the country breakfast with hashbrowns and devoured it! The food was good overall and the best fuel for the rest of our ride. Really quaint spot with an intracoastal view tucked behind residential homes in Key Largo. It seems as though this place is a mostly locals joint, which to me, makes it a hidden gem. The google price more accurately reflects the quality of food. I wish I would have just stopped at McDonald's.
