Ok, if you are looking for something off the beaten trail, this is the place. I stumbled onto this place on a Friday evening, which is fish fry night. As soon as I walked in a waitress asked if I wanted fish and a beer, yes to both! Only served Bud Lite draft, ok that will do. Sat down, had a few sips of my beer and another woman came over to top it off. What? This may be what heaven is like. Fish dinner came out. It was good, nothing fancy. Had fries and beans and a side of slaw. While I only had one serving, it was all you could eat. Is it the best food I have ever had, no. This local comfort food joint is the best in the Keys for real home cooked fresh food and friendly folk. Don't come here expecting linen napkins and tablecloths. Any hoity toity reviewers need to go back up to Miami cause down here in the Keys it's have a laid back attitude or go home. We don't need suits and skirts here! Try the blueberry pancakes! The best sausage gravy and biscuits in the Keys are here. Everything is fresh and delicious. The service is fast and friendly. Friday night's all you can eat fish fry is awesome! Very very disappointed. Used to be a great place to eat. Now you go wait for ever to be served. Never get refills on your drinks. Went on Friday for the all you can eat fish. That was a laugh. We were so excited to try this little place after reading reviews on Yelp. After traveling all the way from Iowa to the Keys, we had scoped out a few places we wanted to try during our visit. I have to say that this was one of the worst places I have ever eaten in my life. As a person who loves a good breakfast, I came in expecting a nice, thick omelet for breakfast. Instead, I got a flat piece of fried egg with a few strands of spinach (I ordered a spinach and cheese omelet) and a few scant pieces of cheese. Absolutely disappointing, bland, and cold. I don't know how this place gets a 4-star review from other guests. The good news? The service was fine; the waitress was friendly, dressed in tye-dye fashion. Very divey, and something worth remembering. Too bad the food was way off the mark. The coffee was drinkable; nothing special. What else can I say? This place will never see me again. read more

Not very good . Waited awhile for a cup of coffee after ordering it , it wasn't good . Lady filled a dirty bucket with ice near my table several times and it was ear splitting loud . Ordered lobster Benedict ( don't just don't ) it was 14 dollars and absolutely awful . The home fries were good ! Service bad , food worse . read more

Delicious little hole in the wall. Was very happy with the location and the flavor. The hash brown casserole is to die for, but very rich. I actually ended up with a bit of a stomach ache after since I'm not used to such rich food. But it was delicious. I'm only giving it 4 stars because they don't take credit cards, they had one of those ATM machines inside that charge you a fortune for getting cash out. read more

Absolutely our favorite place to get breakfast (and lunch) in the Keys! The food is fantastic and affordable. Try the hash brown casserole, you'll be glad you did! On Friday nights they do an all you can eat fish fry with lemonade, sweet tea or beer included. A hidden gem ( hence the name ) well worth finding! Went here once last year for breakfast and decided to go back this year on our annual Keys trip. Breakfast on Friday brought us back Saturday for lunch. It's a kind of diner-like place with a good mix of tourists who were lucky enough to find it and locals. Two country sheriffs were there the day we had breakfast. You're there 5 minutes and they make you feel like a regular. Saturday at lunch our waitress from the previous day stopped by to chat. Remembered us, where we sat and what we had! Home cooking style food is terrific. Right on the water. An obviously old building but immaculately clean including the rest room. Hidden Out used to be the Hide Out restaurant. I first heard of it on a motorcycle outing in Wisconsin. There was this guy just talking about the BEST breakfast place he had ever been. I've been going ever since, just every other week or so, and I still think it's one of the best Mom & Pop shoppes in the Keys. Almost everything on the menu is under $10. They usually are only open for breakfast and lunch, but make this little spot a stop, I think you will be very glad you did. I'm a big fan of quaint places and this was no exception. Service was excellent, our server watched my coffee cup and checked on us often. The view of the water is pleasant, especially when sitting outside. Food is just mediocre. Pancakes were bland but did have big blueberries, table syrup was an off brand I think too. Sausage gravy lacked flavor and possibly had rice as a filler. Good coffee, good service. Probably wouldn't go back though. read more

Horrible experience! My aunt, Grama and I came here for their Friday night fish fry and were very disappointed. The service was very poor. We asked our waitress 2 times for drink refills....she never brought them so we had to ask another waitress. We also had to ask another waitress for our bill after already asking ours. Our waitress was too busy smoking a cigarette and talking about her baby daddy drama and taking him to court. My aunt, Grama and I could not enjoy our meal because all of the employees were arguing about supplies and their life drama. Would not recommend to anyone and will never go back! read more

If you love homemade sausage biscuits and gravy, you will love the Hideout. I have a hard time finding the good stuff but this place delivers. It is not much to look at. The servers are wonderful. They are funny, very quick, eager to offer advice and very sweet. My husband had something called The Redneck....a biscuit with sausage links and an egg covered in sausage gravy. A must for anyone who wants to kick it up a notch. Very affordable. I will definitely come back for the fish fry if we're in town! read more

A very nice little restaurant with a porch for outdoor seating. I had high hopes as I love these types of breakfast places in the keys. I ordered the crab cake Benedict but I would have appreciated if I was advised the crab was instead Krab (imitation crab). I am not a fan of imitation crab and have never had crab cakes in my life made with imitation crab. The breakfast potatoes were very dry and did not look like the pictures on here. Maybe it was just an off day. They have a nice selection on their menu it seems and the place has a great home-like feel. My fiancé got the 2-2-2 which he liked. Servers were very friendly. Please advise if Krab is being used however! read more

They don't take credit/debit so be sure to bring cash or get charged a huge fee at the ATM on site. I didn't even bother trying to order over medium eggs because no one can get them right, I was correct on doing so because my friend ordered over medium and got over easy. My scrambled eggs were fine. Real sausage! Very tasty too, not the standard frozen stuff from GFS or sysco. I also had biscuits and gravy and they had that tasty real sausage in the gravy as well! This is a great breakfast place and they open at 6 am which is nice for an early riser like myself! I think I found my go to breakfast place in Key Largo, can't wait to try some more menu items. read more

October 8th, 2021. The four of us just ate at this restaurant...it came up on google maps...we had pancakes snd eggs...and one grouper sandwich. It was excellent! My husband is very picky about grouper snd said this was great! Service very friendly and they had outdoor seating, which we prefer at this time. Outdoor ceiling fans also. We stumbled onto this place while on a bike ride. We were camping at John Pennekamp and this is a short bike ride from the park. We were there on a Sunday and they were only open for breakfast and lunch. They close at 2:00 and we got there at like 1:50. Our food was great. I had a coconut breaded group sandwich and fries and my husband had a grilled grouper sandwich and fried and they were the best we have had in awhile. Fries were just ok. Service was awesome. I saw pictures of breakfast posted on yelp and they all look delicious. I decided to give it a try myself. I have to say the food was as good as it looked in the photos, delicious!! The staff was very friendly and even offered me a to go cup for my coffee that I didn't finish. The price was also nice. I did not know that they did not take credit cards until after I ate but they do have an ATM machine with a $2.50 fee. read more

Great breakfast. I got the hash and two eggs sunny side up with grits and a biscuit. I'll start with the hash. I love canned hash cooked properly. That's what this is. I sometimes get homemade hash from other places and I leave disappointed. This was perfect. The grits are great too. Sunny side up eggs very well made. I tried the hash brown casserole and it was very yummy potatoes, onion and cheese topped. Great water view also. There was a sign out front that said it was ok to bring your gun. That was pretty creepy and off putting but I expect that type of thing in a local place in the south. read more
