Great Food and Great Service! , super cute inside! We left full and lots of yummy leftovers. Great place to stop for our road trip home!

Busy location in the middle of nowhere. Friendly service with good prices for what you get. Good beer selection, that was a bit of surprise. The decor is a "rustic Utah diner." They'll serve your steak on a hot stone if you like and you get to do the cooking. We opted to let them do the work. I ordered a ribeye and it was perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. The baked tater and sautéed veggies were solid. They've earned their good reputation.

    Ribeye on a hot stone!

We were getting a bit hangry while traveling across Utah from one small town to the next, with our culinary options looking bleak. Just as hope began to fade, the Hideout popped up on my Yelp feed! After a double check to make sure I wasn't hallucinating - we quickly pulled into the parking lot. Despite seeming to be in the middle of nowhere, the parking lot was full and the restaurant was quite busy. Despite this, we were seated almost right away. Service was prompt and friendly. With most everything on the menu being made from scratch in the kitchen - the flavors were all amazing. The star of the show was the 16oz ribeye, served on a red-hot stone that you tend yourself, so you can cook it just the way you like it. That ribeye was one of the best I've had in recent memory. We also had the chicken fried steak, which was breaded by hand from freshly cut cube steak and made to order. The kids meals were generous in size and were wonderful as they were all quiet and enjoyed the meal! We also celebrated my son's first birthday and they brought out freshly made ice cream on a fresh, hot brownie that was really, really, really good! Thanks to Yelp for assisting with another awesome discovery. The Hideout Steak House really is hiding out in the middle of nowhere, but worth the stop if you are anywhere nearby. Five stars!

Nice staff and cute "rustic diner" vibes, but I was disappointed by the chicken fried steak I ordered. Moreover, the fries were soggy, the "steamed veggies" were from the freezer, and the mashed potatoes were nothing special. I did like the complimentary mini loaf of bread they served!

Oh. my. god!!!! The hideout steak house is amazing. The waitress was incredibly nice and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious. Steak was very well done (not pictured) and all the sides were delicious as well. I can't wait to come back! I think total was like $120 for 5 people. Bathrooms were clean, parking is very easy to find, tables were clean too.

Interesting steak spot seriously in the middle of no where. I came in during the dinner rush and sat at the door for a while because there's really no hostess but it says to wait. Someone acknowledged me after about 5 mins and i sat at the bar. Steak on a stone is the thing to get here which is a unique way of cooking it at your table. I had the filet which was a thicker cut and took a while to cook on the stone. The filet itself was good, moist in the inside and the stone which was really hot crisped the outside well too. The mashed potatoes and side veggies were good too. Cool spot esp. for a traveling person. Stop in if you are driving by.

All of those things mixed together and twisted and pulled into a sweet singular strand of small town taffy. We bellied up to the bar later than we had hoped, in mid-afternoon. We met the current manager who explained the history of the spot, and while it's a little spotty, they've been around a long time in one form or another. She was related somehow to the original owner and it's passed through generations of families. There are strange gifts, new gifts, a lunch counter, booths, and a small menu board. We came in post-hike and got burgers because of course you get burgers. I can sum up the vibe of the food and the whole experience thusly: ME: "Wow, this tomato looks like it came from the garden." HER: "Ya, we get them from a guy who grows them for us. He's actually my old history teacher." Local, small, quirky, but very very delicious. Simple. I'm off shakes but by dining partner got one and it filled the cavity well. You have to stop in here when in Roosevelt. It's small town history teacher tomato good.

Alright, I've been here twice this week and ordered the exact same thing. I was going to try the NY…read morestrip today; but they were out. My first time there the steak was good and cooked to my request (medium rare is the only way). The mashed potato's and brown gravy were warm and tasty. The salad bar was ok. The lettuce is literally just a head cut up in the back, with zero thoughts of this is a salad, not a burger topping. The service was good during my first visit and mediocre during my second visit. Second visit, obviously as mentioned above, they were out of NY strip so I got the ribeye again. This time the ribeye was unevenly cooked across the steak. I had mushrooms and onions added both times. The mashed potato's and gravy were not warm this time and were bland. The salad bar was in complete disarray, and I had to ask that it be refreshed. It was a lazy attempt and not worth my time or stomach space. Overall, this place is decent but inconsistent. Funny thing about the two visits. Same order, two different prices, by about six dollars. Nothing special on the inside with regard to decor or design. Just a hole in the wall local place. Roosevelt locally owned restaurants need to get it together. If you want a consistent steak, go to the Hideout. Oh, my ribeye was completely untrimmed today. Picture showing the amount of cap fat compared to two pieces of garlic toast. Swains and Christophers are off my list of places to eat due to the inconsistency and price for that. I'm not poor, but I don't like wasting $40 a pop to figure these things out either.

Not bad. Friendly staff, quick service, alright food. I…read morereally liked the house bread, the stew had nice flavor but I really don't like cooked celery. Chicken fried chicken was a little overdone on the edges but overall was nice.
