From the outside this place doesn't look like much. Once you come in the place is really nice. Now onto the food. Two things that get really hard to find outside of the south is good sweet tea and a good chicken fried steak. This pace hit the mark on both. The severer was great took good care of me. Came here on a Monday night, we were the only ones in the restaurant and it took 15 minutes to get our drinks. I ordered the Ranch hand and I asked if it came with a side and the waitress didn't know. She asked if it was a burger. Why am I suppose to be responsible for knowing the menu? I don't work here. This place is a gem. Been here for work and haven't had a bad meal yet. Portions are huge and the service is outstanding.

First of all there were only 2 couples seated and already eating when we came in. Ordered Alfredo, it comes with a one trip salad bar and the salad bar was empty by 1pm; hardly had any decent toppings. Alfredo had unsauted, cold onions (white-ring cut) and cold tomatoes, & served with canned Alfredo sauce. The other person with me ordered hash browns and a pancake. The hasbrowns were raw still, and the pancake was thick and doughy. Not even round. Picked it up with one hand and it didn't even bend. Horrible. Couldn't even eat it. In 52 years I have to say this was the worst meal and experience I have ever had. We had been there before and it was ok so tried it again. 4 of our meals came with salad but the salad bar was empty including the dressings. I went to ask the waitress to refill the salad and I couldnt find anyone. I even stepped into the kitchen and yelled, finally she comes from outside and tells me they dont restock the salad because most people eat soup! Long story but our meals come out and one of us ordered a 25.00 steak. It was about 2" x 3" and so thin it looked like a piece of jerky. It was literally 3 bites and gone. 3 of us ordered chicken fried steak that was so nasty we couldnt eat it. The guy with the hambuger said it was fine. The waitress was doing well at first. But then when we ordered and she came and told us they didn't have bacon I said that's okay no problem just if you could refund money off the ticket. Said could you do the A1 burger instead and if she would have said yes we can do that it just wouldn't be MADE in it then we wouldn't have this problem. She brought the A-1 burger with onions and mushrooms even though the burger I ordered was plain. I told her just bring hammer, cheese, and bacon first off. Okay, whatever sometimes I can be confusing or someone didn't listen. I fixed it and ate it. I asked for my son to have no egg on the pancake and egg. He's allergic and to switch to sausage instead. Then my daughter popped up and wanted that too. Okay then two of those. When I received the bill I was kinda just angry at this point. She still charged me for the egg that she was supposed to of substituted. Then added $2.00 for sausage which would have been fine if I wasn't still paying for the egg. Then the way she talked and acted was to me rude and even my husband thought the same way. I would have enjoyed more of the experience if she was nicer. Honestly, I feel bad for the service staff because this place was... horrible, to say the least. They were slow, and it was almost half an hour before we got to actually order. Then, their food was bland, had a slimy texture, and left a horrible aftertaste. Soon afterwards, almost all of the members of my family got sick. According to my nephew, the chicken strips tasted good, although it was too hot and burnt his tongue. The fries tasted too salty, but they were significantly better than the chicken Alfredo. In fact, I found a hair in my chicken Alfredo! Thankfully, the waitress was nice and understanding and she took it(and the fries I ordered instead) off the receipt. We visited the steakhouse during a visit to Vernal. Found it on another review site and decided to give it a try since it seemed fairly new. I was disappointed to see that there were not more steak cut options on the menu and seemed to have more a "variety" than I expected--which would be great if you were looking for 'something for everyone '.' I picked the steakhouse bc I wanted something that specialized in steak and was hoping for a good cut of filet but only one tenderloin type option. The salad was great and really fresh which is important to get started knowing the food is fresh. The sides were really good and fresh. The wine and beer selection was not good but it's Utah--so I don't expect that much. The service was good and attentive. I gave 4 stars due to the lack of better steak choices and variety for beef but overall, a great experience. read more

Food was not great at all. First the salad bar had limited selection. Second the dinner was very disappointing. Mashed potatoes were watery with not much flavor. Country gravy was very watery and did not have any flavor. Chicken fried steak did not have any flavor also. Prime rib was very gristly and just terrible. My wife and I don't get out to Roosevelt much. We were in town for a family funeral and were looking for a place to eat Friday night. I want to state very clearly at the outset that our server was delightful, and she deserves a better place of employment than this complete disaster masquerading as a purveyor of edible food. Both of us tried to recall when we had a worse dining experience, but our memory failed us. I mean, when I was in college getting my masters degree, I delivered for Domino's Pizza (motto: We hate pizza, and we won't be happy until you hate it, too!), but this place reached a new low. Let me count the ways: 1) The salad bar was understocked, with some very uninviting elements. Some of the items looked positively superannuated (read: old), and some were discolored. Inexplicably, front and center was a container of chocolate pudding. The dressings were presented in squeeze bottles. We managed to tiptoe through this minefield and build somewhat decent salads. Believe it or not, this was the high point of the meal. 2) We ordered prime rib, and on the side, green beans. I ordered a baked potato, and my bride ordered mashed sweet potatoes. Every time I have ordered prime rib in a real restaurant, it has come with a ramekin of au jus for dipping. This entrée was served with a misshapen hunk of tough and utterly flavorless meat swimming in a nondescript liquid, nearly clear (not brown like real au jus), with a lot of floaties and sinkies in it. Sound bad? There's more. 3) My wife was able to eat her sweet potatoes, but my baked potato was clearly left over from the day(s?) before. Tough, yellowed flesh was accompanied by some over-yellow substance advertising itself as butter. It wasn't. 4) The green beans were dull and overcooked, yet stringy and inedible. 5) Décor. I usually don't pay much attention to this aspect of restaurants, as some of the very ugliest of places often have terrific food and service. In this case, however, Christopher needs to make an investment of several thousand dollars just to upgrade this place's appearance to "dive." This meal was so bad we invented a family emergency to get out of this mess. I absolutely hated to lie to the server, she was so nice and helpful, but with food like this, who needs a diet? I have resolved, upon returning home, that I will, at the very earliest opportunity, cook some real prime rib for my wife, just to expunge the memory of this nightmare. Upside? I am grateful that neither of us got sick in the aftermath. read more

The service here is excellent however, the quality of the food does not match the price. The cooks seem to lack experience. We ordered a ribeye steak medium rare but it ended up being medium well. Also, the seafood pasta (which ended up being more of a soup) did not have much flavor. read more

This is definitely my favorite restaurant in Uintah county. The food is always fresh , home cooking is what my husband calls it and boy does he love it! We can always count on this restaurant to be clean and friendly! Our waitress was definitely fun and accommodating in our questions and she was very welcoming, probably one of the best waitresses we've ever had in any restaurant we've ever been. We loved the American flag hanging too! You don't see that so much in restaurants so we found that to be unique. We are always for supporting our local businesses instead of a big franchise and you definitely get that home greeting and feeling here. I definitely recommend this place and don't forget to get the desert! We will continue to come back. Thank you for always a great experience. read more
