It's clear that they take pride in providing great service and making residents feel truly at home. Any concerns I've had have been addressed promptly which has made the transition into my new home so much easier. We still have a couple of issues but I am sure Vonnie and her team will handle it in a timely and courteous manner as they have with our whole move. I really appreciate the excellent customer service and positive attitude from the entire team. I'm very happy with my experience so far and look forward to living here!

My neighbors are friendly, management - Vonny and her team are amazing and the location is prime real estate - close to everything including the beach. The property is quiet which is ideal for adult/retiree living. Amenities include a beautiful pool (although always cold), BBQ grill, laundry room, a great room with games, ping pong table, exercise equipment, weights, sofa and chairs for lounging. The complex is well-kept and managed - Vonny does an excellent job. The Al and the maintenance team are attentive and provide a speedy response and repair to any maintenance and/or repairs. I would highly recommend Emerald West to adults/couples/retirees if it meets your needs, a place of peace and good energy. I will miss being here!

All of the neighbors were friendly, and the kids were respectful of the common areas. Very quiet at night. The maintenance staff handled all service inquiries promptly and with personal care. The property manager, Lorena, ALWAYS greeted me with a smile and a check in, which made living there feel truly like home. She went over and above her required job, even wishing me well on holidays, knowing my family was on the East Coast. My only recommendation is to convert the on-site laundry to a card system, although if keeping the coin system keeps costs low ($4 a load in 5/2026), maybe no change is needed! Ocean West is in the heart of a quiet, residential community and adjacent to a school with plenty of on street parking for guests and walkable to 711, Walmart, PetSmart, and Tokyo Central. Very close to Del Amo Mall and an 9 minute ride to the Esplanade in Redondo Beach.

However, communication about maintenance schedules and water shutoffs could have been more consistent. We usually didn't get emails nor texts which would have been more appreciated. She does yearly inspections too. We loved that we had an online portal for payments. The apartment itself was a good sized one bedroom. We had our own heater which was inside the walk in closet. We had one parking spot for us with more storage in the parking spot. Downside of this apartment is that they are not double paned windows so dust and noise are inevitable. You hear everything. Walls are very thin. We were on the first floor and we could hear everything. There are two rooms of laundry and uses Bluetooth for payment which was amazing. However, only a few work. I believe the residents have reported it several times but no action was done. The residents of the complex were mostly couples and single residents. Only a few people had families. With that said, I think this apartment complex is more appropriate for couples and singles who are looking for a more quiet and intimate space. I wouldn't say this place is family friendly.

The whole place is gated, and my bike is not visible to anyone outside the complex, so it must mean that someone in the complex stole it. They cut my lock off and took my bike. The landlady doesn't care because she just puts signs saying she is not responsible and won't put up security cameras. She said whatever happens is your responsibility. I have lived in about 10 apartments in my lifetime and I have NEVER experienced anything like this before. My bike wasn't even worth that much so it really shows what type of low life people live here that would just steal their neighbors bike to sell. And having the landlady onsite living here is worthless since she won't do anything. This place is the most insecure place I've ever lived. Also, it's winter now and the windows are so thin, you can hear all the traffic and fire trucks pass every night. And the temperature in the apartment is just as cold as the temperature outside because there is zero insulation. This is the worst place I've ever lived and cost too much for the location. The laundry card machine is constantly broken so you can't do your laundry unless you put $100+ in your card assuming you want to live at this dump for that long because you won't get that money back if you don't use it all.

Even with not living there for 3 months, they still go above and beyond. My mail order pharmacy sent my medication to my previous address there and would not resend it. I contacted Nadia and let her know the situation, she was extremely attentive and was able to track it down and secure it for me until I was able to get it picked up. I really appreciate all the help that we endured in our time as residents there and will continue to recommend those looking for a great apartment in a great location of the south bay, to them. I HIGHLY recommend you take into consideration the comments on property management (aside from Kelli - she is relatively new and does try to help this goat rope of a company She is extempt from this review). While the "area" may be decent, the apartments are poorly and cheaply put together. Paint splatters everywhere, cheap appliances, no AC, huge gaps underneath the island connecting to the floor, garage storages are disgusting, and that's just a few examples. This isn't even the biggest and most disturbing issue. I say again - It's property management! One person in particular = NADIA! Nadia is only responsive when it benefits her. Otherwise, you will not hear from her. She contacted me three times for my renters insurance despite this already being sent to her via text twive AND then the 3rd time threatened to charge me for not having it on file. What's mind boggling is if what I provided wasn't sufficient documentation there should've been communication. Not one time! She even said thanks when it was provided. I digress. She rides around on her golf cart to walk her dog, leaves work early to pick up her daughter & doesn't return (I can't even begin to tell you how many times I tried to catch her in the office - never there!), and doesn't even communicate to her co-workers about the issues on this property. Kelli had no idea I was moving out. Nadia knew the day I moved out, when I followed back up and randomly stopped by because of the lack of response, and NOW I've asked about my Security Deposit twice with absolutely no response. These were clearly communicated by Marylou during the site visit. However, it would be greatly appreciated if these amenities could be added in the future. Its part of one of the best school district in LA and a family friendly neighborhood. She handled everything so professionally, but also with so much sincerity and care. In a world of AI and automated responses, that personal touch made the experience even more special. She knows all the tenants by name, and I think that says a lot. Another big shoutout to Eric for attending to our needs so professionally and personally calling me to problem solve and find the best way to serve our needs. Madeline is also great and has been so helpful! The maintenance team has also been wonderful.
