We came to Green Manor after attending church and if you want some food with a southern style feel to it, I would definitely recommend coming here, the food was good and cooked well. The inside of the restaurant is nice and has the feel as if you're in someone's house (you are, it was someone's home before becoming a restaurant). If you can get past the plantation type of feel to this place, you'd enjoy the food. The restaurant has an old feel to it with wallpaper and paintings that have an antebellum look to them. The food is southern cuisine style with collard greens, yams, fried chicken, fried fish, mac & cheese, various beans, corn bread, etc. The food was tasty, and there were no complaints there, but the desserts were not that great. Ever heard of this place but family member brought us here. It's tucked away but it looks like an old plantation home. It open up it's almost like you walk back in time. It's buffet style it was very clean fried chicken fried and baked fish , greens , yams, corn , ribs , cabbage Mac and cheese salad rolls etc. so much to choose time I tried a little of everything I love it. What a great experience. This wasn't my first time but second and both were outstanding. Lucky I have a project for the next six months so close! All of the southern food staples are here! I've had the fried chicken on first visit and it was awesome. This go round I had baked chicken and it was very good as well. The dressing is to die for. I had high hopes for this restaurant when I decided to go. My hopes were dashed a bit when I saw what was passing for their buffet line. They had all the regular southern dishes such as yams,cabbage, greens, and fried chicken. However, it seemed that what interested me the most on line wasn't on the buffet. The entire restaurant was smaller than I thought it was going to be and we were ushered into what looked to be a back porch for our lunch. Some of our food was just not good. For instance the cornbread which I was looking forward to, was dry and hard to swallow. I also thought the fried chicken could have been fresher. Seems like they had not replenished their buffet line or we were just too late for the real goodies. We ate at about 1 pm after driving all the way from Atlanta. Went later in the afternoon so cannot speak to the crowd as although just about every seat seemed to be taken the buffet line moved fast. Would have love for them to add some items like ice cream and more meat options than just fried chicken and grilled chicken and add to the dessert menu as well. The prices listed online were listed as $26.99 each, but the restaurant charged $39.99! I was not informed of the special prices when I made my reservation. My family was not happy with the higher prices. You'll also find green beans, corn, stuffing, baked chicken and fish along with tossed salads (pretty basic) potatoe salad - which was good even tuna salad! Cornbread or dinner roll and a variety of desserts. I tried the peach cobbler and it was good - a lil more cinnamon than I like but definitely of the southern flare. The house is packed with history and feels like grandma's place including a full front porch with swings and rockers. They can handle larger crowds but I'd definitely make reservations for more than 4-6. We'll definitely hit this place again when visiting in the area read more

Today I had quite a variety for Tuesday lunch. The best things were the meatloaf, pineapple glazed ham and marshmallow cake. It's buffet style of various foods. Not really breakfast but soul food buffet. The chicken (fried and baked options) had good flavor. I love yams but I wasn't impressed with theirs because it lacked flavor. The mac and cheese and other sides were okay. The potato soup and the potato salad were good. The dessert table items were just okay also. I tried the pineapple upside down cake and the cobbler. It's overrated. I prefer Busy Bee or even Mary Mac's for southern food but if you don't want to go downtown, I guess it's worth a try if you want down home southern cooking. This place is worth the drive! We live 45 min north and enjoyed the visit. Arriving when they opened at 1130 on a Sunday meant we were joining a line on the porch. It was no issue as right at 1130 the line was moving and we were seated right around 1140. The buffet is stocked with a ton of veggies - greens, green beans, corn, carrots, yams and of course the salad bar. Then comes the southern main dishes - roasted ham, chicken, fried chicken, and fish. Some delicious soup and rolls and cornbread too. Finally, a tremendous array of southern styled desserts. I liked the banana pudding most. The the restaurant staff are attentive, professional, and sweet. The buffet is attended to the entire time - cleaned, refreshed, etc. they ask people to sanitize and use gloves. All good - all around. Go hungry and leave full!!
