Great little place! I'm in a couple of friends here for brunch, one day at the recommendation, and we all enjoyed our visit. We started with brunch downstairs and then afterwords went upstairs to sit in the comfy sofa and chair area to chat a little longer before ending our visit. Upstairs, there is a coffee shop and some pastries. Downstairs is the restaurant. A few weeks later, I went back with my husband and son, and they enjoyed it, as well. I've been here several times and I've never been disappointed. The upstairs section is a nice coffee shop to sit in and read or hangout with friends. I made a second visit to the Hive this morning. My wife and I got up early in order to get a very early Mother's Day breakfast arriving at about 7:15 AM. The restaurant was just about empty since it was so early. I ordered a simple breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage patty and the potatoes. The server suggested to add American cheese to my eggs which I agreed to. When I got my meal, the eggs did not have any cheese that I could see (no big deal) but the potatoes were terrible! They tasted like grease to both me and my wife, we could not eat them. The sausage patty was greasy as well. I got a biscuit and it was luke warm and hard. Unfortunately, this was the good meal of the two. My wife had a similar order with eggs over medium, bacon and the same horrible potatoes, only she added a pancake. Her eggs were fine, however the bacon looked and tasted more like pork jerky than bacon. Again, it was so bad that even I couldn't eat it. Her wheat toast was hard, burned and tasted like gravel. Now for the pancake... We waited and waited and waited and we are not the fastest eaters in the world. It finally arrived looking good, but again luke warm (the butter would not melt on it) and quite frankly, Burger King has better pancakes. In fact, I would have enjoyed a BK meal over this one any day of the week. In fairness, as stated above, this was my second visit. On my first, the food was all excellent. As we ate our meals, we noticed that most of the employees came in at around 8 AM. It is my suspicion that much of our meal was simply re-heated from a previous batch and all was cooked by someone with very little experience. It honestly has put a damper on my desire to revisit the Hive. read more

The coffee is great but VERY overpriced. They only have one size that comes with 2 shots of espresso and it's $6... unflavored. Extremely overpriced. Not sure that I will make this a regular thing especially since there's much more reasonable coffee shops in Cincy. read more

I wanted to give this place four stars, but the bourbon French toast turned out to be a huge disappointment. It tasted like greasy crunchy bread--not even a hint of bourbon. I don't understand the interest in this place. They do not serve hot food a little warm. Fire the cook. Hire a real chef or a better cook. Ordered a waffle and it wasn't even hot enough to melt butter. Ordered goetta it was thick and cooked on the top and bottom the middle was cool and tasted like lard. The waffle is a cheap mix tasted dry and no flavor. I went to this place when it first opened smelled like sewer gas. Well they fixed that smell. Go to First Watch get hot food and cost less. Got breakfast this morning before flight out. Got the French toast with the cream. My expectations were a little higher but it was still very good. Kids got the Mickey cakes and said there were very fluffy. Also tried the creme brûlée latte which was great. This place was terrific. Went with a group of 9 for brunch during the week while passing through on vacation. 4 adults, 5 kids from 8-16yo. One picky eater, one gluten allergy. Everyone walked away happy. We had the Country Boy, Breakfast Burrito, pancakes, a cheeseburger and a Ruben. My wife (gluten allergy) had the cream cheese avocado toast. No complaints. Just stopped for a quick coffee drink in their upstairs coffee bar. Very busy as they were delivering drinks to their downstairs patrons. Friendly service! They noticed we had been waiting for our drink for a while, so one of the associates stopped by our table to apologize and gave us a complimentary mini cheesecake (which was delicious!). They have a variety of baked goods on display. The next time I come back I plan on on trying one of their blueberry muffins, which looked fantastic in the case! In regards to my order, I just had an iced latte. Very good. Like I said, this was a quick flyby for me, but definitely plan on returning to give the food a try. read more

Our bill is $48 for 2 omelettes and a side of potatos . The omelette say they come with cheese and 3 ingredients. I ordered bacon, ham and extra American cheese. I was charged $2 for cheese. As a breakfast place, it gets 4 stars, but everything else gets 5 stars. The biscuit and gravy were good, the biscuit was fluffy as hell and not dry. The Décor is adorable and fresh and fun. The seating is great - a little snug. I do hope they figure out how to utilize the outdoor space or build a whole wrap around porch bc the porch is divine with an amazing breeze. We had heard about this place in Erlanger and wanted to give it a shot. The inside is very cute with exposed brick, painted walls, and honey bee decor. We were sat in the back of the restaurant right by the kitchen. It took our server a long time to come up and greet us. Once she did, she was kind but it was very slow service. I ordered the 3-topping frittata with bacon, onion, and spinach. When it came out, it was definitely pre-made and they also put mushrooms in it which I didn't order. It wasn't hot and the cheese wasn't melted at all. My husband ordered the honey butter waffle and biscuits and gravy with fried egg and goetta and he said it was fine. Great place for breakfast. We took an Uber from the CVG airport. Erlanger is super close and The Hive is a HUGE upgrade from anything we could've gotten in the terminal. My first visit as a disappointmen. I ordered two eggs with sausage links and biscuits and gravy plus coffee. The coffee was barely lukewsrm. Sausage links were so hard and tough I couldn't eat them. Our first visit to the Hive was good. However, our second visit was a completely different experience. My husband ordered an americano with an extra shot of espresso. We understand the americano to be espresso and water. The waitress brought two cups of espresso with milk. When we inquired about this, multiple staff members came to our table and told us that they make Americanos with milk by default. I told them that was a latte...It felt like we were being told how the drink should be, instead of trying to make the order right - basically we had to deal with what they served us. Ended up that the waitress had rung up two coffees with milk. This could have been a result of new servers, but it really put a sour taste on wanting to return for a $50 dollar breakfast ticket. read more

they are rude to the door dashers. but they need to realize that we are also customers who have ate at there restaurant a couple times. but I will never go back.
