Chef Josh is an all-star. If you're looking for a private chef, who delivers quality sushi skillfully and professionally, you've found him. Just book him. After reaching out through his website, he sent us a message to schedule an introductory phone call. He shared his professional background and then went through a detailed discussion reviewing our vision for the night, including timing of the event, likes/dislikes, options for specialty/seasonal ingredients, etc. After the phone call, he followed up with a proposed menu for a 5-course omakase meal, accounting for our preferences, which was spot on. We paid a deposit to secure the date. He checked in a few days before the event and day-of kept a good line of communication with us, providing ETA. He was quick to set up in our kitchen and then the magic started. He brought his own table lights, dishware, utensils, cooking supplies/pans, etc. He offers tablecloths as well. When dinner was ready, he announced each course, sharing how the dish was prepared. The food was awesome. Just simply awesome. Pictures won't do justice, especially since I forgot to take some as I was enjoying the food too much. He buys the fish fresh that morning and you can appreciate the quality of it. And by the way, he prepped separate meals for our young children :) Afterwards, he took care of all the cleaning, cleared the tables, packed his supplies and graciously bowed out for the night. We had an amazing dinner with the Homakase Chef! We recently had a baby, so going out to eat has been a challenge. I really wanted sushi, and Josh delivered. The fish was excellent quality and super fresh, and the tuna crispy rice was the best I've ever had. We also loved the Peruvian/Japanese dish he made for us -- really unique and so tasty. The customization was a nice touch too. I actually got on a call with him beforehand to talk through what kind of food we like, and he put together a proposed menu for us to approve, which made the whole thing feel really personalized. Josh was excellent to work with. During the first call, he walked me through what to expect and from there, he suggested a menu for us to consider. Since then, he worker with me to modify the menu to accommodate our need including children's menu. On D-day, Josh showed up perfectly on time to prepare the food. Chef Josh and team were amazing! When i reached out letting him know we had already purchased around 15-20 pounds of fresh bluefin he worked with me to make sure the fish was the best quality.
