Finishing Touch added the perfect amount of flowers along the aisle and at the altar without taking away from the natural beauty. The number one thing (when it came to decor) that I wanted for our wedding was ceiling drapery with fairy lights and Finishing Touch DELIVERED! They are a preferred vendor of our venue (Grand Tradition Estate & Gardens) and the only vendor that the venue allows to hang things from the ceiling. We met with Brandi in the showroom to look at different centerpiece options, candle votives, flower options, and fabric colors. She was attentive and listened to everything - even picking up on things we didn't say but ended up being important. Brandi picked up the tone in the room very quickly when she asked about boutonnieres for the fathers and we said "just father of the groom". She suggested making a memorial boutonniere for my dad (father of the bride) and I loved that idea so much. She made every effort to tie the details together meaningfully and never pushed more expensive options. They had already started setting up when we arrived at the venue on wedding day and I was AMAZED. It was even more beautiful and magical than I had imagined! The centerpieces were fresh flowers and were gorgeous. The stairway and other flower accents were silk and they were a PERFECT match with the fresh flowers. So many people commented on the fairytale feel and how pretty the flowers were. We decided to have our flower girl's flower crown be made of silk flowers instead of fresh so she could keep it. It was beautifully crafted and made my flower girl feel like a princess! I drug my feet on getting my bouquet dried and pressed after the wedding and didn't get to it until about 4 days after. The person I went to said that usually flowers are a total loss at that point, but that she could tell I had an incredible florist because my flowers were still almost perfect! I will start this review off by saying…read morethat I photograph weddings, so having a gorgeous scenic spot to marry my boyfriend/fiancé of 11 years was the #1 on our list and The Pond (+ the overcast weather haha) DELIVERED. And the #2 thing on the list was having a variety of backdrops to photograph against which we also found here no question. We first toured The Pond and met with Bonnie (the owner) back in September 2022. We had already toured 5 other venues and this ended up being our second to last tour and last day of touring. The second I stepped on the premise I knew we had found our place. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, breathtaking, and well taken care of. The pond is also full of bright koi fish and other cute little friends like ducks walk around. I felt like we were already late in booking a 2023 date, but to our luck they had May 5, 2023 open which was also 11th anniversary! Easy and done. This hidden gem venue has charm and is the most unique and scenic venue I've ever been to. The main selling points for us in addition to the views were: 1. Full Bridal and Groom houses to relax and get ready in. We each had 8 bridesmaids and groomsmen + our family so it was very important to us that we could find a place that could accommodate our large party to get ready in. They also have separate parking for the wedding party right next to the Bridal/Groom houses and another larger parking lot for guests which is also free for them 2. Fun and unique areas for all of our guests to spread out and explore. Including the gazebo overlooking the pond, fire pit (for s'mores), and cove underneath the gazebo to experience a waterfall. There was also a ton of space for all our vendors to set up including a Boba Table and Photobooth 3. Affordable price that included 1 hour rehearsal the day before, 10 hours on the premise for the wedding, and our package also included the DJ and Bartender team. This was great because those vendors are already used to working with Bonnie's team and DJ Richie killed our lighting throughout the venue as well! They also set up heat lamps for us when it got colder at night 4. DIY everything! I have been looking forward to planning my wedding my whole life and had a lot of decoration and vendor ideas. Bonnie and our Coordinator team (YourDayYourWay) helped make all our ideas and plans come to life and were gracious about accommodating everything we asked for including keeping the sails down in the ceremony space for our photos, letting us do special cups for boba, and letting us choose our catering (5 Elementos Food Truck). The whole event was 100% customized by us and this was so cool since I know a lot of venues have strict rules they never bend. And for anyone who may be deterred reading this because they don't want to DIY everything, I promise the venue still looks great just as it is even without all the extra stuff. Seriously! 5. They allow sparkler exits! Not many venues in CA allow this and I was stoked they had the perfect spot for it If you happen to stumble upon my review and are wondering if you should book The Pond for your next event/wedding, just do it! :D

Although…read moreHeather communicated very well, there were a couple of incidents that I found slightly unprofessional: 1. I signed a contract with one of her staff as my wedding planner. Unfortunately, from my understanding, there were unexpected changes in the company, so Heather had to take over. However, Heather responded that she would make an exception for me and not charge me an additional $1000 for this change. With all due respect, I should not be financially penalized for changes that an owner experiences; especially since I already signed the contract that I financially agreed to. 2. I encountered a lot of life changes that disrupted my ability to move forward with a wedding that my brothers were supposed to be in. For instance, I had a depressed, suicidal brother, I had another brother leave for Japan for the Marines, and I had an uncle pass away. All vendors except for Heather were so kind to fully refund my deposits due to the situation. Unfortunately, Heather responded that she was still a businesswoman and was financially hurting, so she was in no place to offer a full refund. I basically paid Heather almost $500 to establish a simple contract. I already had all the vendors in place and organized, so this deposit was for nothing. Heather should not be held responsible for unexpected circumstances, but this wedding meant a lot to me. As a business owner, you should be able to compromise with your clients based on their situation. I could have easily used that deposit to help my family for the funeral. I find this situation absurd because I never wanted a wedding planner to begin with. Our wedding list was only 32 guests, but my fiancé insisted that we hire a planner because he did not want me to stress out. I admire him for caring, but this wedding was going to be a private and intimate event with very little management. I blame myself for hiring a wedding planner when I did not need one. It is unfortunate that Heather was thinking like a businesswoman and not a human being with empathy. Nonetheless, please make sure to ask about the refund policy for emergencies such as death, health, etc. Two stars are for her communication, but I can only evaluate Heather based on my experience with her before the wedding date. Therefore, I am unable to provide feedback for her day service since my wedding never happened. Has it ever occurred to you, Heather, that you had not heard from me in a year because I was busy dealing with other important things like planning a funeral? My wedding was the last thing on my mind. Also, I was not complaining about the charge that never happened, I am complaining about your response to your changes. There was no need to comment on that you are more expensive and won't be charging me. We could have proceeded forward with whatever it was we were doing. You contacted ONE venue and that is because they had YOU sign a contract with them. FYI, my pre-engagement photos were scheduled with the photographer I hired for my wedding and I was still refunded the full amount. This vendor did not work for free either and still managed to prioritize customer service over money. You are a business owner and have the liberty to do as you please, but you must have needed the money more than I did, so I hope my contributions helped your business. Nonetheless, well done on your communication. If you have a family member with a life-threatening illness or you have a medical condition that may require potential hospitalization, please do not hire Heather as your wedding planner as she will not refund you the deposit because not make exceptions for your situation simply because she does not "work for free."
