The Food choices this time were excellent as we had the full spectrum of small meals, Twilight dinner 3 course meals or the dinner menu. Most of us (being a party of 5) chose the dinner menu the others chose the Twilight menu. I ordered the Filet Mignon medium which was delightfully perfect with the most delicious flavoring of Gorgonzola truffle butter, port demi sauce and pared with champ potatoes with blistered cherry tomatoes and baby asparagus. Yum going back for more of that, compliments to the "Big Chef" as we were told who prepared it. Our server was Jodie who was really nice and an excellent waitress. My husband said his Top Sirloin from the Twilight dinner was tough, but he enjoyed the tenderness of my Filet that I gave him a bite of, as well as did my grandson a true steak connoisseur. My husband enjoyed the Ceasar salad starter and the Burnt Cream dessert, whereas I enjoyed the Bailey's Irish Chocolate Mousse bites that I shared with our daughter. I had my own birthday cake that I shared with everyone, so everyone got a few bites of all the choices. The Ambiance was ok, it would have been perfect, but the A/C noise made it hard to converse over the table with each other unless you were seated next to or directly across from each other. The restaurant was pretty busy, yet the parking was fairly open since Farmers Market and nearby businesses were closed by dinner time. I thank the manager for going the extra mile to have a chat with the front reception who made us wait an hour and a half on Mother's Day to instead being seated at our table upon arrival this time around. Thank you for asking us to try you again, as we were delightfully surprised with the difference it made. The special is 3 courses M-F before 5:30pm. We arrived around 5pm and the hostess let us know that to get the special we just had to be seated by 5:30pm. It was a beautiful sunny day so we opted to sit on the patio. It was wonderful to look out on the sound and soak in the sunshine. Our waitress brought out warm bread and butter to start. We then each chose 1 option from each course for our dinners. My husband had the Caesar salad starter, portobello mushroom entree, and crime brûlée for dessert. I had the shrimp cocktail starter, smoked salmon fettuccine entree, and the chocolate mousse dessert. It was all delicious and I enjoyed the leisurely courses, it gave us ample time to chat and enjoy the views. I would say the fettuccine could have benefited from a little more lemon. I asked for a couple extra lemon wedges and it was much improved to balance the creaminess of the sauce. For 3 courses at Anthony's, $35 is a pretty great price. I probably wouldn't opt for 3 courses on the normal menu, and I don't usually go to Anthony's since it's pricey. We are sure glad that we discovered The Westside Tavern. The restaurant is a standard bar. You can order food at the bar, or you can sit down and a server will take your order. Service was a little slow, but it was not slow enough to impact my review. I got the Big Easy burger with tater tots. I had never seen a burger served with a sandwich bun, but it worked out great. The burger is large, so a bigger bun made it more manageable to eat. The burger itself was delicious.
