Be Aware. I though I'll share my horrible and painful experience, so that anyone planing on going with Home Depot to replace their house windows... Update "As for workmanship, the contractor I had was not up to the job. Attached are pictures of caulking two weeks after install... Again so much effort and phone calls to have home depot send the contractor back to fix the seal around the windows.. and it's cracking back up again... cheap material used. " pictures attached " Just opened a complaint with Best Business Bureau and still trying to get it resolved. Here's a copy of my complaint created on FEB 07 2023 I purchased new windows from Home Depot for $35,331.14 ON MAR 22 2022 ORDER NUMBER H6502-260641 On the day of install Oct 03, 2022, they brought some windows with the wrong grid design and explained that, they will place a new order, they'll install them as soon as they get them. Leaving my house looking like a mess in my neighborhood with new and old style windows. Long story short, 11 months since the order and almost 5 months since initial install, my last update as of FEB 06, is that the order is still not placed for the remaining widows. Called and left voice messages several times to Cindy Espinal "Installation Coordinator" and her Manager Damian Ramirez with no reply to a simple question "Do you guys have an update regarding my issue?" 1st week of December I contacted The Home depot customer care and the Case number XXXXXXXX was created. Damian Ramirez called me and apologized for the situation and said that the order was placed for the remaining windows and will take 6-8 weeks to get them. January 2023, I tried contacting the same people for an update with no answer... Called the Customer care and find out that no order is placed, and that they're waiting on the manufacturer to update the grids which makes no sense To add to that, the day of install, I had the contractor damage my wood-floor with deep scratches + broke my kitchen main light fixture. I sent an email to them, they said they'll escalate that to the managers... but no feedback since... just like it never happened. I feel betrayed and let down at this point. I'm so tired trying to reach them on the phone and get them to take responsibility and do the job that I paid so much money for. It's been a painful and stressful situation, I waisted so much time trying to get this resolved and get my right, but with no success. I hope this dispute will reach someone who cares about The Home Depot reputation. I so much regret doing business with The Home Depot and signing that contract. read more

I've been coming to Home Depot for years, it's like a toy store for adults. There's not much that can be said about Home Depot, other than if you own a home you either choose this place or Lowe's as your main source of fun supplies. I chose Home Depot!! I can pretty much find anything I need here, and the staff is always helpful. Just as most locations, the staff is always friendly and ready to help!! The store is always clean, the shelves are typically will stocked and everything seems to flow perfectly when it comes to different brands that I may need. Returning here is easy, and ultimately this is Toys "R" Us for adults and I love it! Sometimes I'm lazy and use curbside pick up, but I may moving forward so much, since post Covid the service is a bit slower than it was before. There's not much to really be said about Home Depot, other than it's awesome, it rocks, and I could easily spin paycheck after paycheck after paycheck here. This location is awesome, so I love the employees the building the cleanliness and the feeling of being for field that I have when I leave this location. read more

Lowes is so much better than Home Depot. The managers at this store have no common sense. I had one of my workers pick up material and since it was $600 worth I needed to pay for it. He is Hispanic and doesnt have Venmo or even a bank account. Last week I paid over the phone. This morning the manager was not allowing me to pay over the phone. She said my account was suspended.. she had no idea why or how my account was suspended. I don't even have an account there, I just gave the guy last week when I paid over phone my email and phone number... so I had to drive all the way from blue ridge to this Home Depot in Allen to pay for this material in person.. there was just no logic. Curb side pick up experience. I decided to pick up my order at the store instead of having it delivered to the house. I have learned from my mistake. Home Depot pick up hours are limited. Pick-ups aren't available after 6pm. If you work a lot that may be a challenge. I placed 1 order but had to go the store 3 times to pick up partial orders or the order would be sent back. Home Depot didn't provide enough for me to easily get there. You may want to select home deliver instead of the Home Depot. read more

I needed to get carpet installed contacted them got quotes back and they measured my install. They said when they got there to install they needed pad since it was upstairs and the measure person evidently didn't understand you have to use pad upstairs which caused another delay in installing) on OSB floors. I said sure I'm good with the pad how much. A week later the morning is the install is when they quoted me more than 50% cost of the carpet And installation for the cheapest pad they had. When picking up my order, the cashier was quick to find it and bring it to the front of the store so I could examine it before signing. I'm becoming quite the regular at Home Depots all over Allen/Plano area. From the bath department, to doors, windows, yard, paint and electrical, I've seen it all! Each Home Depot is fully staffed for your convenience moving lines and returns along at a quick pace. In addition there are very friendly, and happy, employees all over the place just waiting for you to ask for help. From outlet covers, to carbon monoxide monitors, to drywall anchors, tension rods, outdoor lighting, gallons of paint and garage hanging racks, we've seen it all. Everything is priced competitively and we've yet to have any problems with our numerous returns (buying a house does that to a person). This Home Depot is no different. We will be back, and at the frequency which I'm already there, I'll know each employee by name come 2015! read more

I was in HD for plexiglass for a green house I was building. I ask and older fellow which wasn't interested in helping me. And told me they where out of what I was looking for. I felt like, it was because I was a women. and bothering him. Then this other older gentleman came a long, Grady was his name. He went be on the call of duty to help me. He listen. When I told him I had just brought some sheets last weekend and I needed more. It was my mistake and i had gone to the wrong place. He found them and was very understanding. I'll be honest: I prefer the "blue box" over Home Depot. For one thing, it seems like every "blue box" I've been in has been cleaner and better kept than almost every Home Depot I've been in. HD also isn't as good with, um, odor control from all of those lawn and garden products. Having said that, this store (right across the street from a "blue box") is as good or better than most, and does stock a lot of merchandise. It's fairly easy to get to and has lots of convenient parking. The staff has always been helpful and checkout is usually fast as well. read more

My wife and I went to Home Depot to choose paint for our home. We looked at a couple of options and were advised that we could get samples to check out. I purchased the samples and went home. We decided on the color without using the samples so I went back to return the sample paint 30 minutes later. The gentleman at the paint department told me I needed an approval from manager. I asked customer service and they said I needed an approval from people at paint. They asked a manager and apparently the manager didn't budge even though I was purchasing 5 gallons. The samples were never opened. I was never told I couldn't return the samples. It seemed like nobody wanted to take charge or help. Overall a good store. My only issue is the plumbing department. There is a couple of older guys that are absolutely the worst. They make clear they rather not be there, are petulant and don't like answering basic questions from layman not very familiar with plumbing. In order to remodel a bathroom at my home to be more friendly to elderly, overnight guests, I decided to replace a tub/shower combo with a walk-in shower. The final piece of that remodel job was a full-size sliding glass shower door that would allow someone to turn on the shower without climbing inside. I spotted an option I liked, and drove in to the Home Depot in Allen, Texas to place an order, and potentially find someone to install what I wanted, but there was no one in the store who could help me. The only suggestion I got was to try and place the order online, which seemed really unusual for such an expensive item, but that's what I did and where my adventure truly began. I placed my order online, where Home Deport gladly took my money, and promised "threshold" delivery between 4/15 and 4/22 (you might notice that today is 5/11). Needless to say, I did not get my order on time, although Home Depot clearly shows my order as "delivered" on their website. Stepping through various links revealed that the final mile carrier was JW Logistics, and they could not find any record that they had received my order, and this communication run-around continued for the next two weeks, until the JW Logistics representative finally told me that they were opening up a "lost item" case with Home Depot and suggested that I cancel my order and get my money back. Meanwhile, an escalation with Home Depot (supposed to take 48-72 hours maximum) actually took more than five full days to close did nothing more than look up the JW Logistics tracking number on a web site (which I had already done and much, much more) to inform me incorrectly that my order would be delivered to me on 5/15, which was only a dummy date JW Logistics had entered once they could not locate my order. I can say that Home Depot answered the phone, and all the representatives I spoke to tried to be helpful and were never rude. However, I wish someone at the Allen store had just been straight with me, and told me that even though Home Depot "claims" to be able to sell specialty items like Kohler shower doors, and puts things like that on display in the store to looks nice - there really is no way to order that kind of merchandise. I ended up having to go to a specialty store, and ended up with a compromised solution I don't like as much. read more

Usually pay a visit every other week or so. Decent location but crowded on the weekends, eco during the holidays with Target next door and Lowes down the street. This was where I picked up everything I needed for a bathroom remodel. Their MET team is fast....too fast as anything on clearance is usually swept up them so bargains are hard to find. I've gotten to the point where I know where stuff is at, sometimes better than the people that work there, so I don't bother to ask the workers questions. I actually avoid asking them anything due to a purchase mishap. Last summer they had a 4th of July sale for a certain item. It was advertised on their website and flyer yet it was not found on the floor. It was not sold out as the computer said they had more than 50 on hand. If it was 3 in stock I could see the problem with locating but misplacing 50 is a real problem. A couple of boxes unopened was found high on the shelf. Took more than 30 minutes to find someone that could operate of the lifts to get it down. read more

Terrible customer service. Home Depot gave us bad information. They said that our carpet install would take about two weeks. They measured the space 2 days later and then didn't call to schedule-- so I called them to find out next steps. The lady that answered my call said, "they didn't tell you? We're backed up and it will be AT LEAST a month. I just need carpet installed in a small bedroom. What a joke. I called back later to cancel and the supervisor didn't seem to care. I asked if we could get a similar carpet that was "in stock" so that we don't have to wait for a "special order" of generic beige carpet (that they never even told us had to be special ordered in the first place!). The supervisor, Patrick explained "we really don't know when it will come in..." he also said even if you choose a carpet that's in stock, we don't have enough people to install carpet, so it will be at least a month (still). Interesting...that would have been nice to know PRIOR to making this purchase. They're willing to take your money, but they won't tell you about what the process of your project actually entails (timeline, challenges, execution). All I can say is, I'm so glad that Lowe's is right across the street! I'm canceling my order, as Lowe's said they can get this done in 1-2 weeks. This is my dude's Home Depot. We've spent a lot of money here on our home, and lately we've been coming a few times a week every week. This is your pretty standard Home Depot, but I've come to comment on the customer service because I really do think that is important when it comes to home improvement stores like this. Especially for first time homeowners, we have a lot of questions and are generally lost in this new experience of ours. Every time we've come here, we've always got helped by a staff member who always showed us what we needed as well as give us some advice, on our yard, paint work, etc. They've always been so nice and friendly. However, there was an exception when we tried to ask someone at the painting center and he responded in weird manner, but we will let that slide haha. Overall, we've had good experiences here. Also it helps that Target is next door so I can get my Target on while my hubby gets his Home Depot on. read more

This is actually a frequent store that I go to but the service has just gone down hill. I go to the paint department to purchase some paint and accessories. After the purchase put the items in my car to find that the cab was not sealed properly and paint is now all over my items and my car. Explained situation to the manager who really did not seem to care and made we wait another hour to file a claim as the paint hardened in my vehicle and other items. The very next day I got some more paint and was told that one item was not available in any location and was stuck buying a different paint. However I looked online and found that the item was in stock. Called and spoke to a different employee and verified item was in fact in stock. This maybe the last time I shop here. read more

When that AC company overcharged us for the work and parts, Home Depot (Nicole -- Installation Dept) defended the right of the AC company to charge exorbitant amounts ($318 for a $4 capacitor). The AC company also refused to honor a valid, unexpired coupon for $29.95 (Trip Charge, First 1/2 Hour Diagnostic AND First pound of R-22). The Allen Store's Assistant Manager, Billy, called Extreme Comfort; but they just blew him off. *** A complaint has since been filed with the Better Business Bureau vs. Extreme Comfort. ___ I do NOT trust ANY of the AC repair companies. But I DID implicitly trust Home Depot. I trusted that they had some kind of control over the workmanship, pricing, warranties, business practices of their "agent" / "recommended, certified contractors". You would think that Home Depot would have screened or vetted their "certified" contractors; and that they would have any leverage in any kind of dispute. Home Depot is impotent in this kind of setting. It appears that our trust in Home Depot was sorely misplaced. ___ Do NOT hire a contractor just because they're recommended by Home Depot. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE IN THE WORLD. We bought a house. The front door is being held on by a Y bar. Our first order of business is to buy a door. We went to Home Depot on McDermott and ordered a front door in July. The first FOUR door jams came damaged. Finally got a good door jam and an hour before the door was to be installed the installer discovered a huge dent in the actual door. Now SECOND door has arrived. Remember we ordered and paid for the door in July? ITS OCTOBER 3RD!!!! Got a call from Jeff at Home Depot stating they would install it today 10/3. Guess what? The actual installer called me at 5:30 yesterday to schedule the installation. I told her it was scheduled for today. She says she had NO idea what I was talking about and that Home Depot never should have told us that. Did I mention that today is my 35th birthday and that I canceled ALL my plans to make sure we were here for this door. I texted Jerry the "operations manager" and told him the situation. Was I a little harsh? Sure was. Jerry's response? Completely ineffectual and patronizing. Today my husband and I went to the store to see this fabled door because frankly we are not sure it exists. Spoke with Tammy who kindly asked "do you even lift bro" Troy to bring forth the door. We proceed to wait half hour only for my husband to find Troy walking the aisles and flipping boxes around.
