Today I learned that Home Depot does not honor warranties unless the product was purchased with a Home Depot credit card. Product has 5 year warranty and goes defective after 9 months. Im told that my payment method only gives me 90 days of coverage, while the HD credit card would cover me for 1 year. Unless you have a Home Depot credit card, don't buy anything you care about lasting with cash or your own card as it won't be covered down the road. read more

I was picking up some items across several departments and I saw at least 10 employees not wearing masks. Social distancing was not enforced, 2 employees walked right up to me. In addition about 50% of guests were not wearing masks properly, which I know they have less control over, however I wanted to post this review as a warning for people like me who would not feel safe in this environment. read more

Ok so I usually don't review a box box store but this is a special situation. The customer service went above and beyond this time! I purchased a colored prelit Christmas tree from the Home Depot. I waited a week before I realized that the top two thirds didn't work due to faulty wiring. When I returned the tree to exchange it for another they were all out of the same priced tree. The staff scoured the whole store looking for one but couldn't find one for me. Feeling kind of bummed I went and picked out the next pre lit tree that had colored lights and it was more expensive than the one I purchased. While the woman was processing my return she mentioned it was more expensive and I said "Yes I know but I'm having my family over for Christmas dinner and would like to have a tree." I know you're all saying I could have found one on the internet but I really feel like supporting local. Even if it's at Home Depot-the employees work and live in my community. I've heard it's said if you spend $1 at a local store then 60 cents stays in that community. After looking again, the customer service staff ended up giving me the tree as an even exchange, I was blown away! Wouldn't you know I misplaced the receipt and only just found it-passed the expiration date for the survey so that's why I'm "Yelping" them. To the customer service staff, you might never read this, but thank you for your incredible customer service and kindness-your gesture made my home feel filled with the spirit of Christmas when my family came over. I truly appreciate what you did, proving it's the person in the orange apron that is the best of Home Depot. As it is with all businesses small and large. This is a slightly smaller Home Depot than the one I'm used to and it's somehow arranged differently. Maybe it's really just a mirror image of the old one, I'm not sure yet. It has all of the familiar HD traits: You'll need help in finding something new and people dressed in orange are always offering to help. If you go to the same store for a while, you'll eventually figure out who the best people are and you'll look for them. The biggest problem here is getting in and out of the parking lot, but you'll eventually get where you're going. read more

I needed help getting a replacement window for one I had bought there 9 years ago, which had a lifetime warranty. A woman in the window and door dept. said she couldn't help me because I didn't have the serial number which is on paper attached to the sash and which fell off years ago. I did have original receipt. She said she's been doing this 19 years and it's always been this way. Told me to call manufacturer. I eventually got someone at another HD to help me. read more

Bought a generater at home depot the thing ended up being junk. I only used it once . I had it sitting in the garage and walked by it like a month later and noticed there was a puddle of oil all around it.went on line found some reviews that said the ryobi was notorious for this problem. I walked into my local Biddeford Maine Home Depot to get some siding for a apartment I own. I always shop at Home Depot and have spent tens of thousands of dollars there. I'm usually pretty good at finding things on my own, except today they were short one box of siding I needed. I saw a near by employee standing in the siding section so I asked him if there was anymore of the color I need. While he started to answer my question his phone rang which he answered. Not a big deal to me so I waited patiently for him to finish but as he wrapped up his conversation instead of coming back and helping me with my question the gentleman walked away and didn't come back. So at this time I looked on my own for it and couldn't find it so now they have lost a loyal contractor from that store. The customer service has gone down hill so badly I will no longer shop there. Even the management said when I called he walked away to help me with my big project, this does not make any sense do to the fact he never came back after I looked for the siding on top shelves for 20 minutes. read more
