Unfortunately there aren't many places close by that sell vanities, so we headed to the Home Depot in Carson City. Would have tried to get this delivered, but our last experience with HD involved the delivery company calling us saying they only deliver every other Thurs. And we are never in Tahoe on Thursdays. Then they tried to reschedule the same week after we arranged to be up there on a Thurs. In the end, we did finally get what we ordered, but it was super delayed and a hassle. We had looked at vanities at another HD location and decided to purchase the one above. It was just a matter of finding it and loading it onto the cart. It is all one piece, so if you have someone weak like me helping you take it down some stairs, you cannot remove the top. We found the easiest way was to turn it on it's side so I could grasp and hold onto the legs. Tho it did give me a splinter thru my gloves. A fine location. Corporate needs to do something about training & hiring employees that are willing and able to do their job. On top of walking circles in the store for years, looking for somebody to even get help from ... THIS WEEK, it's taken me 2 days of calling numerous times & getting hung up on, to get through to the Pro Desk & then getting through to the rental department. I reserved a machine, started asking the guy a question and he hung up on me. This is my new neighborhood Home Depot after moving to Carson from Reno and I am very happy so far with all of my experiences. We are currently renovating our house so we seem to go to Home Depot on the daily and have only had very positive experiences so far. Today's experience was the best. We unfortunately had some problems with products we received in an online order but Katherine in customer service fixed us up. On the very last one, I am holding the post trying to get it on to the cart, about three men sportin' Orange HD aprons stroll by me. The tool rental place rents out broken and defected units. We rented a generator that was supposed to peak at 2000 watts and required 800 watts of it but the breaker would trip every time. To add more insult to injury, Store managers Terry and Charlie said that we 'took it for the time so it doesn't matter if it worked or not because they couldn't rent it out to anybody else' so therefore we are going to still pay for the time. Their customer care resulted in 4+ hours of circling and transferring and I'm finally going to dispute this with my credit card company. Kathy assisted us with a dishwasher replacement last year. We were very happy with her help. We naturally turned to her again this year when we needed another appliance replacement. She was very helpful, and we appreciated her help. In the end, at the advice of a friend, we went with a local appliance store instead. However, we still think Kathy is a wonderful person to work with, and would have happily completed our project with her, except for the fact that the competing provider was a local, independent businessperson. read more

Service, selection & value! I accidentally flooded my bf's motorhome while staying at CVI RV Park. Flushed the toilet wrong and we came home 6 hours later to a mess last night. UGH! I got a wet vac rental and had it done in four hours. The people at the counter were SUPER nice. It was about $20 to rent the wet vac. It was super clean and I really appreciated EVERYTHING about The Home Depot. read more

Now that Gayle and I have moved to Genoa, this Home Depot has been a handy spot for home supply and improvement items. So far that's included snow shovels (not since growing up in Iowa), a step stool and ladder, garage shelving, and most recently a pretty outstanding artificial Christmas tree. They had real trees too, but the method of display made it hard to choose. The folks working here have been helpful and friendly, and I've appreciated the assistance in getting a few things to the car. As we work through our home list (paint, maybe a new front door, etc.), we'll be checking in again. read more

Customer service/pickup was rude, surly, argumentative, effectively called me a liar, and -- was pretty much the opposite of customer service. Despite documentation, photos, and facts, the customer is always wrong. Go for the tools, avoid customer service. read more

Part of the trick is knowing "how to" Home Depot. Outfits like this are not the place to go to get complicated questions answered. Your local ACE or hardware is better staffed for that. If you know just what you need, you're in great hands. Turnover at HD or Lowes is astronomically high. Folks aren't around long enough to become experts. If they are, they get transferred into whatever department is lacking. They also want employees to get familiarized with the store and product to increase sales. Employee retention is such a large problem due to the substandard treatment and lower wages they receive. An enormous revolving door. Having worked with a couple of these firms not too long ago, I can attest. As far as product goes, this is a wonderful location. Being the size that they are, they have a gigantic selection at better than competitive prices. I'm not ecstatic at the brand names they have, but if you wait, in time they change. Their buyers are keen enough to make great deals which many times are passed on to the consumer for retention sake. That being said, they may contract with Black and Decker today and have Dewalt on the shelves next year. Overall, it's a great shopping experience when it comes to hardware products, appliances, tools, BBQ grills and more. You can even get car batteries. I've compared cost and this HD is much better than the competition up the street. People seem much friendlier, too. I recently purchased 3 ceiling fans and had trouble separating a part on one of them. I brought the part back to the service desk and they called an assembler from the back who had me fixed and back on the road in a minute. I've seen the operation from both sides and from a consumer standpoint it's a no-brainer that this is my go to home improvement center read more

I will NEVER purchase an appliance here again. After the appliance was 3 weeks and I paid extra to have the old appliance taken away. The guy said he was simply to Do it. Left the box and drove off. I called the manager who basically said "that kinda stuff happens" and "to call back on Monday if I want a refund but we're not sure if we do that sort of thing, you may have to call the company who delivered it." So we figure we'll just instal it ourselves. But after we open it the door of the appliance is completely dented in. Terrible products, terrible customer service, will take your money, give you broken items and won't return your money. I guess Home Depot can just steal peoples money and get away with it. read more

We are leaving the Carson City Jacks Valley Road Home Depot to drive 45 minutes to Reno Lowe's - my client (yeah, I don't want to be working today either guys!) needs to order about $5,000 in appliances and flooring by the end of the day (12/31). Yep, they waited until the last minute but you know what? They've got money to spend so I came here first, even tho I told them about our terrible experience 10/26 trying to buy a $2,500 snow blower (that we bought elsewhere). What a waste of a 45-minute drive down from Tahoe. Customer Service Desk? No. Customer Insult Desk. Manager on Duty? No. Manager too busy to speak to me. Store Associates apologizing when I asked if this was normal. Well, we're almost to the parking lot of Lowe's in Reno right now and we are about to make a nice contribution to this store's end of year sales. Update: we finally talked to a guy in HD customer service. He was very helpful and said this was a fail. He was escalating the call and to expect a call back. We did get a call from another installer the next day. He came out, took care of the job fast and well. After three weeks of HD run around, thank you very much. THEN the "manager" from the install company calls us, we again explained how disastrous this whole process was. He immediately told my husband the problem was not a big deal! At least we were installed. Home Depot needs to re-evaluate their companies policy on hiring install companies... read more

Carson City Home Depot, Jacks Valley Road did a fabulous job helping us purchase a lawnmower. I was able to ask Matt about how we could have a lawnmower assembled for us. He assured me that could be done. Carrie called to let us know our order was ready. She worked with the garden department since we needed to pick up the lawnmower on Wednesday morning. The Customer Service Department checked us out and Roger, who had assembled it, helped us load it into our van. The teamwork demonstrated was excellent. Compared to Lowe's, this Home Depot is a five-star experience. However, this store does not hire enough help during the winter, and prepare to spend some time waiting if you need assistance with things like wire cutting or getting stuff down from top-stock. Had to call 3 times before someone from paint helped with wire cutting. The appliance folks are pretty helpful though - we were able to order a dryer pretty quickly. If they had more help, it would be 5 stars. read more

I went today to purchase a snowblower I had a few questions and I was greeted by a very rude woman at the customer service desk I she was not much help at all didn't understand anything about the equipment that Home Depot sells and I didn't get my information or what I was looking to do accomplished at the customer service desk I then decided before I leave I will try one more person they called a manager after calling the manager he basically told me that the online store and the ground store are two separate companies and that he could not help me at all with what I was trying to order. The store manager acted like he was more important than everybody else and too busy to help me with my order so he told me nothing I can do and walked away. I would appreciate a phone call from a regional manager or some sort of manager that is above this stores manager so I can discuss what happened. The biggest advice I can give other customers is if the it is not in store on location it is not through that Home Depot. If you have to order something do it online from the comfort of your own home because ordering it from the store is pointless. read more

You already know that the prices are very difficult to beat, and you know they've probably got what you need, but why in the world spend the time writing a review of a Home Depot? It's simple, this store had great help last Sunday. They were patient, thought of things that we hadn't thought of, suggested future things for us to be aware of, and were patient as we reflected on the shared ideas. Barbara was the key person, but everybody she referred us to was also very helpful. So, yes a Home Depot is a Home Depot, but this one had the best customer service that I've had at one of their stores. I bought a set of patio furniture on clearance and was told it could be delivered. I went to the service desk, paid for the furniture and the delivery and scheduled a delivery date. When the item didn't come, I called the store and spoke to a manager who told me they couldn't deliver clearance items and had put the furniture back on the floor and sold it to someone else without bothering to call me and let me make other arrangements to get it to my house. They best he could do was apologize, which wasn't good enough. I have no tolerance for poor customer service, so I won't be going back. read more

Call to double check 9:00 am day before delivery, no problem. Receive call at 4:15 same afternoon don't think we can get your order out tomorrow , not enough space. Can't guarantee shipping company will take it or not, sory! Sorry My ass, it is now costing me 3 times the delivery because I have contracts to fulfill the next day. I thought having Home Depot Carson City NV install my flooring will be better than trying to supervise another project myself. Well after paying a premium, I have received incomplete service and the project that was supposed to be completed on Nov 6 is still not over. The HD team informed me of a revised timeline, completion by Nov 13 but their installer Romanoff Renovations did not show up. The attached pics show the current status (taken by my property management company on Nov 15). I have called Corporate Customer Care on Nov 10 and they promised an update, however, I have not heard of anything. At the moment, I don't know where to go to get any relief to fix this installation mess. read more

We had a very unpleasant experience at Home Depot in Carson City today. They gave us the wrong paint. So we ask about getting compensated because part of the house got painted with the wrong paint. Didn't realize it till it was too late they were two very close light colors but it was definitely a difference when they were in the same room. Bought washer and dryer set. Paid about $2k for the set (about $100 more than same was at Costco). Both arrived scratched. Rather than Costco that offers virtually unlimited returns, HD said "you should have told the delivery guy to take them away." Not a great vendor, choose wisely. I am even a contractor ProExtra spender of about $20k per year at HD. Pretty sure they dont care about their yelp reviews, but giving one anyhow. read more

Ordered a dishwasher and refrigerator on February 4th. When I ordered them, HD wanted to deliver them around the 16th. I informed them that I would be out of town so let's make it March 2nd. Well, March 2nd came and went and all I have is the dishwasher which was installed by HD 3rd party provider. Mind you that HD hired them, not me. When I asked them about the refrigerator they knew nothing about it and told me that I had to call HD. Then the delivery service asked me where I wanted the dishwasher and I told them and showed them that I had paid HD to install it, but it wasn't on their paperwork. I called HD about the missing refrigerator and talked with the manager Tom about it who informed me that he will look into it. Well, it's been about 24 hours and still no information about my $1399 refrigerator! By the time I get it, it will have been more than a month since I ordered it and paid for it. Update: HD has contacted GE about my refrigerator and have informed me that HD is unable to get me the refrigerator which I bought. I told HD that I wanted a Kitchen Aid and was willing to add funds to what I have already paid and all HD was willing to do was give me 10% off. I complained to the fact that HD sold my personal property and they said best they are willing to do is give me that lousy 10% and an extra $100 credit for the Kitchen Aid. Now I'm trying to work with Tom the manager to take a lessor GE model with upgrades to make it as close to what I bought and paid for. Updated: Well, after almost 2 weeks after my refrigerator was to be delivered, HD found a model very close to what I bought. They gave me a $50 store credit for all my problems! BFD! You know how HD motto is "Do it yourself"? Well, that includes their customer service or perhaps I should say lack of! I guess as soon as I use up the $50 credit, I'll be going to Lowes! read more

Went into Home Depot in Carson City today ready to spend upwards of $1000 on a snowblower. The first person I spoke to didn't know what a snowblower was. The second person I spoke to couldn't help me, and suggested "Sam" in the garden section. When I asked Sam if she could help me with a snowblower, she said she didn't really know anything about them. I asked if anyone else at the store could help me, and she said "what do you want to know about them?" I told her that I wanted information on the best snowblower for my first winter in Lake Tahoe. She told me she could try and find a manager, and then she wandered off. Two minutes later, I saw her stocking a shelf with gardening supplies. Basically, no one knows what they are doing. So I'll go spend $1500 at a small, mom and pop hardware store. No more big box stores for me read more

Had a $35 credit- wanted to buy a Bosch plunge guide for a router. Called- they said- can only buy in the store. Went there- they don't stock them and I went to customer service--- oh gee- that product can only be bought online- sorry we can't help/ or take your credit. Very poor store service- for a multi billion$$ company. Took all my biz to Lowe's. Couldn't leave fast enough. Very sad. read more

Jenn was absolutely amazing. We were trying to buy a patio set. 1st gentleman had no clue where it was or even how to figure it out. Jenn showed up. Looked it up found it in a semi trailer outback that had just started being unloaded. Advised we ordered online for instore pickup and she would see it was taken care of and ready for us. We did and went home. Barely made it home when jenn called. She found our order deep in the trailer. Marked it. And alerted the dock workers and night management to make sure we got it and was ready to go. read more

I have never been to a home depot where you have employees standing around I asked 2 times for assistance for a lawn mower and never got help we walk by 2 employees for help they said its not there department and they continued to have there conversation. I asked the lady that was at the entrance where hand sanitation is where i can get help for lawn mower her snappy reply was i just herd a call for that dept.my reply was yes you did 20 min ago.
