Local close business to my house ... As a property owner and handyman it is nice to have something so close to get something needed in a pinch ... With that said to me it is a nightmare going to this store on Harlem near Walden ... Some things are in disarray , always some sort of stocking going on , some isles closed due to forklift used to load and unload product most of the time .. most help appears to be a pleasant , especially at self checkouts you mainly have to use , at times the place is packed ... My vibes walking in are just not right , a lot of foreign do it contractors fill the place up ... if I need something I will look online at first to see if Valu has it ... I stopped here after work on a Wednesday, after 5pm. I didn't realize the drive thru garden section where you pick up your mulch would be closed at 5pm. I went to the garden section, and asked for my 5 bags of mulch. The cashier said I could pull up to the garden entrance and then find an employee in the garden section to load my mulch in. It was a little clunky, the whole experience, but the gentleman who helped me was extremely friendly and willing to bring my 5 bags of mulch to my car. read more

Home Depot is more of a cold contractors look to the place. Whereas Lowe's looks more inviting and not as cold. My trip today was for furnace filters. Where to start! Doing my kitchen backsplash and most of tiles I liked 2 months are now discontinued. Picked out one from Home Depot but wasn't in stock, so ordered 4 boxes online. Order arrived in 3 days! But, all were cracked except 1 box. Ordered 5 more boxes hoping to find 3 whole but on arrival only 1 out of 5 boxes were not cracked! Asked to speak to manager both times but he failed to appear at front desk after 45 min of waiting. Had employee at desk call to see if she could order with delivery from another company. To make a very long story shorter, ended up finding similar tiles at Lowe's not only in stock but lower price and easy availability! Took 1 box back that I had in my possession and manager suddenly shows up to ask what he can do? Too little to late! read more

Complete disaster. I've been to this HD location twice this year and what a nightmare. First of all, what is the deal with the parking? The contractor parking and access door area is literally pouring over with illegally parked cars, vehicles left running unattended, and not a single employee in sight to manage this mess. Now make your way inside and both times I've been there I've seen Cheektowaga PD dealing with people stealing. To the point where they hire an off duty cop to stand in front of the door to deter criminals, it clearly isn't working .... Not to mention every aisles has locked metal cages on it to protect products.....Both times I went here were for a quick purchase but it took longer to stand in the checkout lines then locate what I needed on the shelves. Coming back from Cake Crazy I decided to go a different direction. Stopped at a light I saw this Home Depot. HD was on my list of stops so I parked and came in. I did a walk around looking for a rain barrel and did not find them. So I looked for an employee to ask. And looked. Finally found one inside who was not sure and then he asked another employee who points me back outside. Neither offered to help me actually find it or determine if they even had some. We had to search all over for someone to attend to our needs, then when we finally found someone he seemed to be annoyed by the mere fact that we needed some help lol. After he barely answers our questions thoroughly, he navigated us to another individual at the service desk. I wouldn't recommend this location. Wow, i called Home Depot to find a hard to locate mirrored closet doors, I was fortunate enough to speak with an employee Jacob MG who not only found was I was looking for, but made sure I was taken care of with sending me the photo of the item to make sure it was the one I wanted, ( it wasnt) because he did that it saved me weeks of aggravation. Went to get a christmas tree on Sunday and Had great help from the guy inside working in the tree area. Went to pay and the cashier said that there would be someone to load the tree on the car. My sister also asked someone. We both got the same answer "yes." 15 minutes after standing in the cold and looking at three very capable employees all standing together in a group, my boyfriend threw the tree on the roof and grabbed the string from the spool sitting by the register and tied the tree himself. If you are planning on buying appliances in WNY, then please consider someplace other than home depot to purchase them. They give you a four hour window for delivery, call you one half hour before the window closes, tell you they are running late, and three hours past the window, your appliances are still on a truck somewhere in WNY, but not in your house. The delivery company will not answer your phone calls and Home Depot denies responsibility because it's not their fault the delivery company they contract can't be there on time. It does not matter that you paid $2,000 cash and placed your order 3 weeks ago. Neither Home Depot nor the delivery company tell you they are sorry for the delay nor do they offer any compensation for your frustration. So I usually hate going to large home improvement stores but Home Depot has completely changed me mind today, I went there for about fifteen 40lb bags of top soil. At first it seemed like a nightmare having to pick up all those bags but to my surprise an associate came over and asked me if I needed help, he then loaded my cart with the bags and took them to the outside register where he held them until I was completely ready to check out. I did have another item I was looking for so I wandered inside and to my surprise I met another employee who was more then willing to help find the items I needed and walked me from isle to isle until I retrieved all the items I needed and was satified. It is seriously hard to find such terrific customers service now a days, but today Home Depot took it above and beyond. Once I was done I cashed out and yet again another employee helped load my car, when I told him thank you he replied "this is what I'm here for, I enjoy helping people"! Home Depot and GE completely screwed up our appliance order. We ordered a package of all our kitchen appliances in black slate. It's our first home and our first big purchase of appliances. They were going to take over a month to be delivered... we were sad but the set was what we wanted so we made the order. I went home and decided to order my washer and dryer online... they were being delivered the following Saturday. No big deal. I called the Monday before delivery and asked for them to install my dryer because it's gas... no problem they set it up and we paid. Saturday comes... they drop off our washer and dryer and said install was never added... it was taken it out of my bank account. We call and argue and fight... best they can do is the following Saturday for installation. So the following Saturday we hear nothing but this truck pulls up saying they have our fridge and range to deliver... 5 days of early. They realize it's not the whole package and won't deliver it. Also no one ever showed up to install the dryer and no one has a good reason for it or knows what's going on. This Wednesday we take off work and are waiting for our whole kitchen set to be delivered. We didn't hear anything so we called... someone from there headquarters changed the date to the 22nd... without telling us and for no reason. Our appliances have been ready to be delivered since the 10th. We went and picked up our own appliances and installed them ourselves... because we have been living three weeks with no appliances. Awful experience. The only reason this gets two starts is because Joe, the assistant store manager was sympathetic and helpful when we went in to complain. This location at Thruway Plaza in Cheektowaga is the worst with the worst employees. The phone rings a long time before customer service answers and forget about trying to reach a specific department. No one there wants to be bothered by calls. If you get transferred to a department you will just keep bouncing back to the customer service desk who just transfers you back to the department until you finally get fed up and hang up. I think that's their plan to get rid of your call or they are just understaffed. The second time I called I spoke to the customer service desk who didn't know what to do with my call until I finally asked for a manager .. of course he didn't speak English and hung up on me. I am sorry Home Depot, but if your sub contracted delivery team cuts the cord off of my old refrigerator that I still planned on using, and throws the severed piece in the freezer drawer of said fridge, it is absolutely a reflection of your company! Also, it is not nice or customer friendly to accuse me or "someone" else of cutting it like some weird fridge destroying bandit or self inflicting weirdo. The cord was cleanly cut, not frayed or maybe torn and then neatly placed in the ice box. Be very careful when working with their delivery team. This location sub contracted my order with a local company called Reliable Appliance Installation, Inc.. I unfortunately was not an educated enough consumer, but hope others have better luck. They gave me a delivery date of Nov 27th. 2 days before the delivery day they pushed it back another week. I had already purchased a meat order to be delivered on the 28th. I text customer service to see why it was delayed and she told me it was on backorder. I told her how unhappy I was an I asked her how do I cancel. This representative took it upon herself to cancel my entire order. I DID NOT give her permission. And she did well I can't reverse it. Jeff in plumbing on 5/6/16 was really an employee you could be very proud to have on your staff. His manager, really an artist, a few weeks ago sketched out for me a project for me using plastic piping for my roof garden. I didn't have any prints, but Jeff listened to the idea and put it into form. I was made to feel like a criminal while she pulled out a booklet in a feeble attempt to learn what she should already know. This is no SEARS! They cannot even measure a cut for carpet. If you order a 36 inch cut it is 38 inches....so you have to cut 2 inches off it after the original measurement. If you order it a week in advance, it is not ready when you call to pick it up. One would guess that a "group" that can "do it cheaper" has formed Home Depot. read more

We went to this store in hopes of getting advice with closets: specifically closet maid/plaster issues. We had to search for help for awhile. When we finally found a person he was nice but not knowledgable. The second person only wanted our money. He offered home depot to come to our rental apartment which we said we already had that option within the complex. Then he tried to sell us a ridiculous expensive stud finder. Again, was not the issue. Finally a lady helped by reassuring what we already found, was ok. The check out person was extremely rude as well. Very disappointing as a customer in distress needing professional help. I will never go to this location again. read more

When 2 associates of any kind converse as if the customer who has already asked for help is not standing right in front of them its pretty bad. We were told we needed to place a special order for something that was in store, to wait 4 wks, checking in on the order and receiving misinformation over the phone, going in person to wait and wait for any competent help, was told the order would be pulled and ready, it was over 1K order and it wasnt pulled, waited 2.5 hours at the store to think we were done. The special order parts were wrong! This wasted half a day for our contractor, required us to return those parts, get credit, purchase the parts which were in store to begin with to find out we overpaid over 100 dollars somehow? Totally unacceptable. Train your staff Home Depot. Teach them some basic manners. read more
