I set up a reservation for a box U-Haul truck at this store back on July 22. The reservation was for pickup on Aug. 17 at 8:15 am. When we went to pickup the truck at 8:15, they told us that our reservation had been cancelled. I looked in my email and saw that the cancellation was sent out at 6:48 am that morning. I had people taking time out of their day to meet us to load furniture into the truck. Fortunately, we were able to rent a truck from The Home Depot store on Hanley Rd. Afterwards, I followed up at both the corporate-level and at the store-level. The corporate Customer Care rep opened a ticket and said that the manager from the Chesterfield store would be following up with me. I spoke with Becky (Manager) and asked her for some restitution. All that she said was that I would be receiving a refund of the $150 for the rental down payment and that she was "sorry" for the mixup. She basically blamed it on the system. To Becky (Manager): I will not shop at your store or any other Home Depot store. Fortunately for me, I have other options (Lowe's & Menard's). When you treat a customer poorly, they not only won't patronize your store & brand, they will tell their social circle about their bad experience and tell their story on other social media outlets. So be careful...... thought I would call the installation partner to put two tandem 50 gal water heaters - electric. Straight forward, no basement, plenty of room, replacing two that are functioning but older. They wanted over $300 an hr per person x 2 folks. 4 hr estimated time line. This is labor only. Very Disappointed. I bought a $700 dish washer. A sign advertising Free Delivery, including free installation was posted on the wall. When I concluded the purchase, i was told I had to pay for installation, and buy $50 of extra stuff I already have. I called Home Depot Corporate who transferred me to the assistant manager of the store. He told me I could pay for the installation or cancel the sale because he could not take the signs down from 2,000!stores. read more

I was looking to buy a gas trimmer because the battery powered ones just are not powerful enough and you can only go so far before you recharge. They only had battery operated trimmers, in fact they don't carry gas powered mowers, trimmers furnaces or stoves. They told me they where a pilot store for only electric appliances. This is a general comment on Home Depot, not the one in Chestefield Valley specifically, but that is the one I use. I have been a long time patron of Lowes next door for a couple of silly reasons. -Lowes were first to build here, so that is where I go -Lowes is about a block closer so that is the one I come to first. -I like Lowes blue motif bettter than Home Depot's orange. No kidding. All that said, Home Depot does have better selection in the electrical supplies area so this is where I head when Lowes lets me down. For a recent home ethernet project, it was nearly all Home Depot. Now here is the main reason to go to Lowes instead. Refund promptness and process. Both cheerfully accept your returns. Home Depot takes weeks (3-4 at least) to credit back to your account. Lowes does it about as fast as they did the debit in the first place. Let's face it, we all end up with materials we don't need at the end of a project and it is nice to be able to return unused stuff. Lowes get's the nod here. read more

I have to say we were in this store for quite a while on a Wednesday evening. We were in electrical and garden and every employee was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Only downside here is that their selection of home furnishings and fixtures isn't quite as stylish as Lowe's. I prefer this store to the Lowe's a few 100 yards away though! read more

I'm looking for paint and was going to pick up a few paint chip cards to help in the selection. The woman at the paint desk offered to help when I asked her if she had a good eye for color. She was extremely helpful, and also told me that the "regular" Behr paint colors can also be had in the ultra-premium Behr paint, which was the paint I wanted. I'm also really glad that we have THD as a home improvement shopping option because the last community where we lived only had Lowe's and Menard's...both of which I consider vastly inferior to THD on the basis of product selection, customer service and staff knowledge. Long story short. I had some terrible issues with a Home Depot in St. Charles (see my other Home Depot reviews for that long debacle), but with the help of Home Depot corporate and the "Tool Repair/Rental" department at this location everything was made right quickly. I appreciated them and their customer service was phenomenal. On another note, they have an awesome hot-dog stand inside. The woman working it was very nice and makes one terrific Chicago dog for less than five bucks. She also had a huge list of other wonderful goodies, you should check it out. This is the best Home Depot in Missouri form downtown to the end of highway 40. Love this place I betcha won't find no other Home Depot store with the hospitality these non-country people give you from the time you walk through the door. DOOR DEPARTMENT SUCKS To the door department: The design guy Tylor ordered a wrong size of the door. We waited almost 2 month for that door to be installed. Finally it arrived but with wrong size. I don't know why but someone else was handling the situation but not the guy who designed it, it did make no sense. I went to talk to Tylor the next day, and he said they want someone else to handle it and also he pretended that he didn't know what was going on. The lady spoke to me about the situation wasn't even apologetic. I understand that people make mistakes sometimes but for the least show some apology. We had some issues with a drum sander we rented from the location. The barrel was off and we ended up having to go back and pick up another in order to finish our project. Ben helped us through the entire process and he was phenomenal! We've had a poor experience with tool rental here previously so we were frustrated when we were on our way back. Ben completely changed our attitudes. There was no hackling about getting another tool or money back; he took the initiative to find us another sander and went above and beyond for us. I visited this location of the Home Depot recently to purchase a new storm door and a decent amount of landscaping supplies. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Poor customer service. After shopping one item for months and watching the price of a shower door, we checked availability. When my husband went to pick it up it was price incorrectly. He was sent to the Pro Desk. The "pro" proceed to pretend to be too busy to be inconvenienced. Once he granted my husband the correct price he said sarcastically "you're welcome" not thank you. We spend alot of money here and at Lowes and when possible we will avoid this location. read more

This store uses a horrible delivery service for appliances, Linn Starr. After I gave them a full day schedule, of which they provided me a four hour window, I had to call them when it appeared they would not make their window. With 15 minutes left in the delivery window they couldn't even tell me how much longer it would be. I couldn't wait past an hour longer, so had to reschedule. They would not do anything to help me out schedule wise, even though the missed delivery was their fault. I rescheduled for the only morning the next week I had available, called and reminded them I was only available in the morning. Next day I get an automated voice message that I was scheduled for the afternoon. Nothing they could do about it. They use an automated system that schedules by zip code.... very convenient for them but poor service for the customer. Needless to say, I am almost two weeks into this process and still don't have my product. If you order something from this store that needs to be delivered and installed with Linn Starr, make sure you have a full day and night clear so it is convenient for them! read more
