Came here to browse around to price items . Drones, tv's, gaming accessories etc . So much inventory and styles and colors to choose . So many ideas to turn your home into an electronics fortress. Store clean and clear of clutter. Geek squad was unavailable as always for question solution. Was told I would have to make an appointment and meanwhile staff was sitting around not doing anything. No matter which Best Buy you go to, there is one consistent problem- not enough staff on the floor for help with products or to ask questions to. The Chesterfield Best Buy has a lot to offer= good prices, easy checkout, and what staff you do deal with are all professional and kind. The store has a lot in it. However, the lack of staff is a consistent problem with all of the Best Buy's. The day I was there was Tuesday before Thanksgiving . They were already having sales, and the store wasn't terribly busy. I asked for help in the vacuum cleaner section. I was told to go back there and someone would be there shortly to answer questions. I don't know in minutes how long I waited, but I was able to discuss with another customer the vacuum cleaner I wanted to purchase, and he suggested another place to purchase. After going back and forth and reading the specs on multiple boxes, I finally chose one. No one ever came to help. I purchased the one I thought was best and left. If this were not a consistent problem with Best Buy, I would have given them 5 stars. You have to know what you are looking for and already know the specs because you are not going to get any help from them. I really wanted to give them a higher rating, but I just can't because of this ongoing issue. read more

I left my laptop there on a Sunday after purchasing an SSD and RAM from this store and giving it to Geek Squad to install the new parts and clone the drive over. I was told by the associate that it would be 2-3 days until my laptop was ready to be picked up. I waited 4 days and called and was told I would be updated that day as to when it would be done. Did not hear back from them that day. I have been on the phone with them three times today each time being told that they really don't have any information just that "they're working on it". I told them that it's been 2 business days past the time I was told and I just want some information every time but even after leaving two messages with geek squad I still have not actually even spoken to anyone who can confirm any details about when my computer might be ready. Maybe there might be some extreme circumstances like every geek squad employee has been sick this whole week or they're so backed up they can't do a job that should take several hours in five business days. I was going to attempt this upgrade myself but assumed that the big corporation would be the most quick safe and efficient way to upgrade my PC. Now I'm starting to wish I had just done this myself or maybe gone to a local independent store. Will come back and change my review of something is done today or this is somehow explained or made up to me but as of right now I'd have to rate this experience as just atrocious. read more

Purchased a Viper remote car starter and had it installed. At the completion of this install I was told the battery was dead in the remote and stated they could "sell" me a battery. Pretty poor service and company. Doesn't matter the situation, store policy dictates no returns after 30 days. With Christmas delaying opening of gifts and other delays creating a very small window to exchange an item, there are NO RETURNS when obviously not correct hardware even though site stated it would be. Took a loss sadly, hate to waste money on something won't be used. Would have exchanged it but NO RETURNS. Find another store, maybe Micro Center, with much better return policy. Friendly people but the delivery I paid for, for the tv I recently purchased from them, has been an absolute nightmare and has been the single worst retail experience of my life. After a series of broken delivery commitments, including me taking time off from work, Best Buy are unable to provide updates on the tv that was supposed to be delivered; where it is at currently or when delivery can be rescheduled. The corporate customer service has been patient and graceful with me throughout but they cannot answer basic questions about status, and are unable to effect any sort of influence over, obtain timely communication or gain commitment from, the companies they do business with. There is a broken system that underpins the relationship between Best Buy and the companies they outsource their 3rd party logistics to and it should be viewed as a failure of Best Buy's business model and strategy, that a lifelong customer would be typing a message like this. Over the decades I have outfitted all of my places with their products, from every segment of their business including TV's, Home Theater, Computers, Geek Squad support and Appliances but I am done after this experience. I will no longer recommend this company because support after the sale is essentially nonexistent. read more

I emailed corporate and no response. I went to get my money back and they refused so I called my cc and got my money back in 2 minutes. You aren't left standing around waiting for someone to help you. Workers often are polite and ask if you need assistance, something that is hard to find in 2024. I wasted an hr of driving here. Came to make a purchase and the Manager accuses me of coming yesterday to purchase the same item. I told him I was at work and he accused someone of stealing my card and coming to make the purchase. I told him the card is in my hand and I can pull up bank statements for proof. He basically said I was lying and pulled up reciepts from different stores from months ago to support his claim. I asked for the regional Managers number and he gives me the wrong information. It wasn't until I asked to speak to Ted that he gave me the nunber to the Best Buy store! They said even though he is the regional manager I can't talk to him and they gave me an extension that sends me back to the store. I bought a TV. The sales person told me it was compatible with ATT Direct TV. It is not. I tried several ways to make them work together utilizing SONY, ATT, 3rd party, and they just are not compatible. went to Best buy to exchange to another TV, and they wouldn't do it because I was longer than 15 days. I had an appointment with the geek squad on January 26 at 4:40 PM. This is after I had gone to the AT&T store in search of help for what I thought was a cracked phone screen. The AT&T store manager was very nice but could not help. So I went to the geek squad and low and behold, it was merely a cracked screen cover. They could have said now your phone is broken and charged me for a screen repair I did not need, instead they were very helpful and pointed me in the direction to get a new screen cover which was expertly applied. I wish I could give you 20 stars. You saved me $1200. I was discouraged and at the point of getting a new phone. Thank you! read more

We came home from vacation to find a dying refrigerator. After buying the last couple from a national hardware chain, we decided to look here first. We were greeted by Lorenzo as soon as we entered the appliance department. He was very knowledgeable about the products and backed up his assertions with data. We picked out what would be best for us and this is where Lorenzo really earned our respect. As we were checking to see if the model was in stock he asked us if we had a Costco card. When I showed it to him we were immediately given a better price. When only one was available in the area he called the warehouse to make sure it was there. When it was found to be sold already, he helped us to locate another one at the Best Buy outlet. He wouldn't get the credit for the sale though unfortunately. He went above and beyond in helping us get what we needed. Many other purchases over the years have gone well here too. I needed a new band for my Apple Watch and I didn't want to fight the crowds at a mall and The Apple Store. I ventured into Best Buy. They were out of the plain black band but they had the Nike black band so I went with that. One of the sales associates was super helpful and he confirmed that not only were they out of the plain black band every other store in town is as well. OK. Nike band it is. I had a great experience in the past with Geek Squad. However the appointment today was the worst. The technician told me the order was not received for installation of the printer as a part of the overall job. I informed him it was requested and I was challenged as to review the order. The order was read to me--it was incorrect! I informed the technician Geek Squad made the error. I was told by the technician several different rates for charges based on the order omission. I asked to speak with the supervisor Heather Hills. The technician said he called Heather and she "said" to him she would call me. No call. received. Here is the best part....the installation of the PC and Printer was the exact same order performed last week by another technician with no errors or issues. When I placed the order for this same duplicate installation--the order was inaccurate. I also was told I would have the same technician repeat this installation and this did not happen as well. Be cautious with Geek Squad. Take names and have orders sent to you via email even if you are told "they can't". I went from extreme high rating to a low rating as a result of this incident. read more

I only had a question about my remote and have paid quite a bit of money for the technical service for the year as a subscription. I was just put on hold for 45 minutes and no one called me about my appointment. I come here 2-3 times a week while I'm waiting for my son to finish his ATA taekwondo sessions. Normally it's not bad, I get asked maybe once if I need help and I just answer: "No thanks I'm just browsing." Well today I was checking out refrigerators since we are buying a house soon. Again I was asked if I needed help and just replied as usual. The associate walked away and I heard his coworker say, "what does he think this is, a museum?" I could not be more disappointed and Best Buy has just lost me as a customer forever. Made an appointment during the pandemic for a new computer - showed up and they had one type of machine in stock - it was buy it or be out of luck. I bought it on their advice. Couldn't get my computer virus software installed that day and needed to wait two weeks for an appointment. That seemed to go well but the computer has a hard drive failure error four days later and they tell me I need to go to the manufacturer for a repair. Tried to talk with a manager but they were 'all busy.' I have been a Best Buy rewards member and a Tech Support member - will be cancelling that service. We bought a 55" TV with a 5 year protection plan from this Best Buy. Our buying experience was great, but when we got it home, the tv had huge cracks in it. We had not even removed it from the box yet. When we went to take it back, we were questioned about it from four different employees. It was already clear they thought we broke it. While they did replace it, the manager proceeded to check the new tv to make sure they knew it wasn't broken and then he continued to instruct us on how to properly remove it from the box so we wouldn't damage another tv. We never damaged the first tv. Horrible customer service. I wouldn't recommend going here unless you want to feel like you've committed a crime when trying to exchange something. read more

A television quit -- like kapoot. How does that happen? It's not under stress. It didn't fall. When I say A television quit . . . I mean THE television in my bedroom quit. Critical television. I know you're not supposed to have a television in the bedroom. But the silence is deafening, can't fall asleep, and then I start thinking. So, that makes me unable to fall asleep. I asked SmartSon to join me at Best Buy September 18 to help me select a new television. Caleb helped us. He gave us the low-down on latest and greatest -- I know nothing of this vocabulary. SmartSon understood it all. But most of the capacities of these machines aren't anything I do. So, do I need that exemplary of a television? I purchased one -- not available in this store. It had to be picked up at another store. Luckily, the store that had the television was near where SmartSon lives. So he picked it up. Guess who got it. And guess who got his "old" television. This is my local BBY store and we moved to the area about 2 years ago. Actually, I just checked the date and it was exactly, to the day, two years ago that we bought our current home. In that time, I've had the occasion to visit this store numerous times and as recently as yesterday to replace a router I bought...yep, two years ago exactly. Dealing with the staff here can be a challenge. I find it better to walk away and find someone else if I happen to get hooked up with someone who is unhelpful. I've got a near-perfect record using this approach. Thus far, we've bought a dishwasher, refrigerator, TV, several iPhones, a sound bar, a couple of wireless routers and a myriad of other items here. I do ask for price matches when I know the same thing is available for less and they are very agreeable about that as well. This location remains my first stop for electronics. read more

Really? I had a receipt, the FOB was still in the package and because I'm a few days past the 30 days they insist on a store credit which I have no use for. I needed a backup Fob for my '94 Cambry. I didn't get around to opening it and then my car was totaled by someone who ran a red light. No more use for the FOB. I'm injured and was under a doctor's care so now I go return it after 30 days and they act like they are doing me a favor by "making an exception" in giving me a store credit. Okay i'm not usually the person to leave bad reviews on here and complain about customer service, but I am extremely frustrated with Best Buy at the moment. I am about to start college, and HAVE to have an ipad for my classes. i ordered it over a week ago, and I understand that covid is causing issues with shipping and mail, but I got a notification that my ipad might not be here until August 21st (which is fine), but that if it wasn't here by then they will just cancel the order and refund me my money. I call the store in Chesterfield 10 TIMES, because I need my Ipad, and NOBODY answers. Everytime I call my call gets declined or somebody answers and HANGS UP on me. Without a doubt, the worst customer service of any store I have ever shopped at. I bought a brand new HP Envy for work about 2 years ago. Worked great for about 7 months and then it stopped turning on. I took it in to the store and they said they would send it to the service center. They asked in store if there had been anything spilled on it. I said no (I only use it in my office and knew nothing had ever been spilled on it) and asked them to check it right then in front of me so water damage could be ruled out. They said they have no way to do that in store and they sent it off to the service center. I was told I would hear back in 4 days. 1.5 weeks go by and I my tracking number starts giving me weird updates saying it's being shipped back and then a day later says it's going back to the service center. I had two calls in between asking what was going on and did not get a good answer. Almost 3 weeks in total go by and I finally get a call and am told that the computer wont turn on because it has water damage and the motherboard needs to be replaced. And this is not covered under warranty but I can pay $465 to have it fixed. I'm livid, I know there is no way water damage is an issue and I tell them to send it back as is. I bought a cheap used Dell for like $200 in the meantime because my work was rolling out 2 new products and I could not afford to be without a work computer any longer. On a side note, they screwed up my data transfer to the Dell. The cheap Dell finally went out on me a couple weeks ago and I took it in to a repair shop by my house and decided to bring the HP to see what they could find out for me. I find out there is ZERO water damage preventing the HP from working (when I asked them about water damage they laughed) and they power it up in front of me. The problem was the power button was soldered incorrectly to the motherboard, was missing a bracket, and the plastic hoop that pushed from the external power button to the internal power button had broken. So now I have to use a thumb tack to reach into the power button slot to hit the internal button. The only fix is replacing the motherboard (interesting right?). At this point my warranty is expired but I called Best Buy to see about some reasonable solution since I had taken it in when it was under warranty. The store tells me to call corporate. I call corporate and spend almost 6 hours in their IVR system on hold or being transferred to tech support who say they arent in charge of things like this. Was hung up on twice while on hold. Each tech support person tells me they will transfer me to the right person and I get transferred to another tech support who says the same thing. Finally their phone service ends for the day and I went online and started 2 chats. The rep both times ends the chat without a response after I explain my issue. I call the store back the next day, explain my issue for the 5th time and get their head Geek Squad guy. I explain the issue and he questions me and treats me like I'm lying. When I have the original computer and all its parts, serial number, etc...says he will escalate and see what he can do. Tells me I'll hear back in a couple days. 1.5 weeks later, I get an email from him saying that the service center says I can send my computer in and pay for repairs myself. Reason? Because I took it and got a second opinion so they dont know if the other computer repair place "broke" my laptop. Talk about a Catch 22. Service center can misdiagnose your issue and if you take it somewhere else to find out what the real problem is, they blame the place you took it to and say they cant cover your computer as a result. So the guy tells me to call 1-800-GEEKSQUAD knowing I have already done this for over 5 hours and they did nothing to help. Honestly, the WORST customer experience from the store AND corporate I have ever dealt with and I will never be shopping at Best Buy again. They do NOT care about you as a customer and will pass you off, hang up on you, or treat you like dirt. AVOID THIS STORE. read more

Wanted to buy a new charger for my Apple Watch. My first stop was a Best Buy closer to where I live. I was unable to get any assistance while there, and only had a quick question to make sure I was about to purchase the correct charger. One employee started helping a woman who arrived after me, and he did not even acknowledge my existence. I left feeling frustrated with such poor customer service. Then I went to the Best Buy in Chesterfield on THF Boulevard. I have always received good customer service there. I was looking at the watch charger less than 3 minutes when employee Sam Sutherland approached me to see if I had any questions. Not only did he explain the difference in the chargers, he was friendly and very pleasantly nice. It was a basic question but he gave me the few minutes I needed to choose the correct charger. This place is horrible. Paid cash for an iPad. Wife didn't like it so I returned it UNOPENED. They told me tough luck on giving me a cash refund and that they would mail me a check in about 10 days or so, or, they could give me a gift card. Do not trust the delivery system at best buy where you order items and they send them to the store. I did that and received about 4 emails that my Sonos amps were on the way, shipped, arriving soon and finally arrived. I left work to get the amps only to find that they were not there- one was and one was supposedly on a truck. Why would they send emails that the products were ready to be picked up when they were not? The manager then argued with me and tried to explain that they were two orders but my emails never said that and it is a lie. I paid all at once. I would just use Amazon and will try to never shop at best buy. They are terrible. read more
