This home depot seems to be sad with a lot of merchandise. However, as with almost every other Gome Depot that I've been to, whenever i'm looking for something , they don't have it. Even when it shows online that they have it, and an aisle number once I got to this store, they did not have the item I was looking for. Everything ! Bought a grill at the Home Depot In Round Lake Beach. Got it home in Chicago only to find out it was damaged. So I returned it to the brickyard home Depot to switch it out for a new One as the website showed there were 13 in stock. They had none on the floor and when the associate was asked to bring one out she couldn't have been less helpful even if she was armless. Her attitude was disgustingly poor and kept telling me it would take 40 Minutes to get a new grill off the shelf because "it was not her department" Customer service is non existent here and thanks to this fine employee of HD the sale of a gas grill was not completed I returned my damaged one , got a refund , and will shop elsewhere If you want something do yourself a favor Go elsewhere ! read more

This store does not deserve to be in business. With rare exceptions, employees have no concept whatsoever of customer service. Went in twice in two days and each time asked three different employees to help find an item and none of them had any clue what the item was (one was an air compressor) or how to locate an item in their store. One of them told me that he had to have an SKU to find an item. I was sent all over the place. Only self checkout now with no bags available at the registers. Just a pile of boxes like at Costco and all of them were very small. Not a cart in the store all of them in the parking lot. Had to leave the store and go back in with one. Employees standing around talking to each other if you can even find one. Absolutely horrible. read more

I've been to this Home Depot several times and every time the store is a mess and the employees are unfriendly and not helpful at all. It is really hard to find anything here. I had looked up an item online and it said that it was in stock. Ki It even lists the aisle and shelf numbers. However, when we arrived at the store, we went to the aisle and the items that were on the shelf were not even in the same category as the one that we were looking for. When I asked an employee to help me find the item I was directed to another section of the store that also did not have it. We tried one more time and returned to the aisle where it showed it in stock online and showed an employee on my phone that the item was supposed to be there. The answer that I got was not encouraging at all. The employee said that the website is not updated very often and if it was not on the shelf, the store did not have it. Customer service here is HORRENDOUS!!! Every time I set foot in this store, my luck, I seem to always need the assistance of an employee. They are NEVER around to be found. They will see a customer looking aimlessly around and NOT even ask if they can assist you, but are quick to turn their heads and act as though they do not hear you trying to get their attention for assistance. Then when you run an employee down, the first thing out of their mouth is, 'I do not work in that dept'. Customer Service here is beyond terrible. Then when you do get help, be prepared that they have no idea what they are talking about UNLESS you get a mid-aged employee who has common sense and is knowledgeable. Asked a young man if I could use a 15 amp fuse instead of a 20 amp fuse because they were all out, as always. He told me no...I go to Lowes and the older man assured me that I can and guess what, it works!!!! Shop some place else. read more

This location has a curb side pick up, when it's not that at all. Call it pick up parking not curb side. No one comes out to give you anything. From the moment you go to the pick up counter, they don't acknowledge you. Then you have people looking like it's still Halloween, with some 3" eye lashes and piercings and color hair. Definitely need to improve the customer service. No thank you or how can I help you. Or do you need help putting those item in you vehicle. I've been avoiding Home Depot for the past 15 months, but in a pinch needed soil, paint, and compost, so I drove to my neighborhood Home Depot and just dealt with the negative emotions. Two stars for this place since I was able to locate and purchase what I needed and one staff member helpfully directed me to the garden center. Also, David answered my questions in the paint department and Ian was efficient at check-out. Efficiency was required because 3 employees near check-out and one clerk in the paint department were only halfway masked (noses uncovered) and customers were waking around unmasked and no one asked them to mask up. Eek. I got out of there as quickly as possible. This store is definitely an older one. It feels run down. I don't plan to return. read more

Was treated like crap at this location. Zero stars thanks to Lavinia. Lavinia was a horrible, horrible employee there. Bad attitude, unprofessional, screaming at me. I was walking towards what the checkout lane but weren't going to the closed checkout lane and Lavinia screamed saying that's not open. Obviously, and I wasn't going to it. She was on her phone and I went up to the station and started to scan, thinking it's self checkout because she was not doing anything, she came and screamed at me saying I TOLD YOU IT'S NOT SELF CHECKOUT. Home Depot is a reliable store for all home needs. Sometimes is hard to find what you need from here because this store is huge. They sell thousands of items. Here is a tip based on shopping experience here: when you are looking for someone to ask something or for other help, it is better to choose an older employee. They usually are working longer and care more about what they do than younger guys. The outdoor Plants Department is awesome. They sell lots of nice seasonal flowers and garden plants. I like their prices too. When I moved into my new apartment, they send me a 10% discount coupon via mail. It was sweet and helpful for me because I saved some money on move-in items. At first, I am a huge critic of the positive reviews viewed on yelp, but so far, local home depot has done a marvelous job that precedes their reputation. Entering the store is not too crowded and clean at the same time. Home Depot does accurately what a hardware store must do! They take care of everything from purchasing to the delivery of the materials in an exact time scheduled. You don't need to look for other stores with the same items at the lowest price because home depot got you covered. This location is well organized and clean. The store is astonishing, which is easy to navigate and well organized. Their employee was friendly, and when every time you need assistance they are always there to help. Their staff knows the quality of the products with different brands. Great for collecting information about the products that suit your needs. Very professional in delivering your items to your home got them right on time. The piece I order is not damaged and it is the same as what I have selected in their store. I like the ideas they offer for remodeling. Sometimes furniture installations they make in the store can be very helpful. Overall, Home Depot can be considered a top-notch hardware store in the city. My Lawn mower puked out on me last year and I have been dreading going out a buying a new one. After going back and forth over what type and visiting many stores like, Lowes, Menards, Home Depot and Sears I thought I knew what I wanted. Now I know what I don't want and that's an electric mower with a cord attached. My neighbor has one that she offered to sell to me as she now has a lawncare service and no longer needs it. I appreciated the offer but after one use I realized that corded lawnmower is a pain in the butt as you have to keep flipping the cord over to prevent running it over and electrocuting yourself. There is such a variety of lawnmowers on the market and price ranges from maybe $179 or less to over $800 and more. Well I found one that intrigued me an electric lawnmower with a battery that once charged covers 1/2 acre lot. I was interested as they leave less of a carbon footprint on the planet and they are very quiet. This is until I found out that the batteries don't last and they are very expensive to replace. Now almost every store I have been to the consensus is that Honda lawnmowers are the best on the market, but they aren't cheap. (I guess you get what you pay for). As I was looking a young kid named Dimitro came up and started talking about the pros and cons of different models and lawnmowers. We were very impressed by his knowledge and were surprised to hear that he is only 17 years old (very impressive). Dimitro is from Ukraine in high school and has 2 businesses. This kid is going to be a big success. Anyhow we ended up purchasing a lower end Honda lawnmower for $399 + tax as they are known for their high quality the same as their cars. When I first moved to the neighborhood where I now live I asked Siri to locate the nearest Home Depot so I could take care of several needs related to the move. Siri directed me to the store at the Brickyard Mall in Chicago. Interestingly, Siri asked me if I was sure that I wanted to use this store as it had terrible reviews. I decided to try it out as it as conveniently located. Since then I've had opportunity to confirm that the terrible reviews are more than justified. Most of the personnel I have encountered at the store can range from indifferent to outright discourteous . The woman at the Pro Service counter on November 30th, 2022 around 2:30 P.M. certainly qualified as one of the rudest customer service employees I have ever met. However, the persistence of this problem does not only reflect poorly on the quality of this Home Depot store, it is indicative of a serious fault of management. No wonder the customer reviews at this store website do not feature one single positive review. read more

NEGATIVE stars if I could. Bought a dryer and tried upgrading same day but was told we weren't able to. We ended up getting the dryer delivered that didn't work from the beginning. Instead of a simple return or exchange management, specifically Kathy, refuse to be helpful and do their job. We've had to go through the manufacturer for further help, just to be told it was first connected wrong, then a second technician wanting to repair something on a NEW dryer. Still not working. Home Depot management has no sense of problem solving or simple understanding. And when explaining to Kathy, she lacked even the simple courtesy to hear us out properly. Literally useless and extremely frustrating being stuck with a "new" dryer that doesn't even work, and have no one on site to accurately problem solve. read more

F this place. Never shop here at this location again. I usually don't write reviews but I had to this time. Kept giving them another chance since the service here has been terrible the last few times I dealt with them. Came to purchase replacement blinds today, no one was at the desk for help. I needed to get them cut. 3 different employees tried calling someone for assistance, no one came. 30 minutes later I left and went to Lowe's. Was in and out in 15 minutes. Also don't count on them to install anything in a reasonable time frame. I could keep going on about my other experiences with this location but it will require me to make some more individual reviews/threads. I was there today trying to buy a vinyl roll on aisle 8. A very nice and courteous employee paged someone to help me. After 15 minutes wait they paged someone again. 5 minutes later after waiting 20 minutes for someone to help me I went to the flooring dept. desk and told her about my situation and instead of helping me she told me it would be another 15 minutes. I went back to aisle 8 because there was an employee there and he could not help me at the moment I asked him to hurry up and his manager (a gang member with his gang member attitude started yelling at me. I went to get the store manager and I was finally helped!!! Why do you hire people with poor customer skills??? AND why do you make them managers???? Between my mom and I, we have ordered these tacks twice now.  Home Depot has gotten the order wrong both times.  I  now believe I know why. On October 5th, my mom ordered this: Flat-head  brass plated tacks.  After waiting over a week,  what she received was this: Round-head brass plated tacks.  I chatted with customer service online and they agreed to credit her card for the cost, but they could not order the correct item.   They said we would have to go to a physical store to exchange them for the correct item.  Or, I could just order them again myself. Therefore, on October 12th, I went online and ordered this: Flat-head  brass plated tacks. Then,  I immediately Live Chatted with customer service to ensure they wouldn't screw it up again.  The agent assured me she'd insert a note into the file that the picker should look at the online image before filling this order.  After waiting a week, what I received was this: Round-head brass plated tacks.  Why does Home Depot keep getting this wrong?  It may be the picker didn't bother to compare the online image, but more important is this: The model number online for flat-head tacks is wrong.  The number erroneously references round-head tacks.  The website description doesn't match the product this number refers to.  Only a very conscientious picker would ever notice this discrepancy.  At this point, I'm wondering if Home Depot ever sold Flat-head tacks?  If not, where'd they get the picture? read more

This place has become one of the worst for customer service. I wanted to buy a new shower head and had questions about a delta brand which I currently have. There were two employee at the display organizing the products. I asked them and they really did not answer directly but did call someone. They continued to organize things and tried calling again and mentioned between themselves that he must be on his break and left. I was like where did they go? At that moment I saw another employee and asked if he was called. He said he was not but said he can assist which he did. It appears some employees cannot interact or know how to help customers at this location. Even if they do not know answer they can try to get someone else to help. There were several other similar incidents that occurred here in the last year. I am not coming back here again. read more

As if the competition is not right around the corner. A company that exclusively selects to have return restrictions on a population they serve should equally have restrictions on purchases from that same targeted population. If a matricula, passport or "foreign ID" is not valid at the time of a return then a purchase should equally not be valid from this population. Needless to say, I will be taking that ramp up to their competitors as I do have a valid "United States ID" but refuse to support such bias restrictions. read more

The lightbulb I purchased did not work so I took it into the store for an exchange. Got home and the 2nd one didn't work! I had to purchase a lightbulb from another company that did end up working. On top of this, when I went to return the "2nd" one for a refund, I was told the original exchange/return was not done correctly so they could only give me store credit when I paid for the original online with my card!!!!! Basically the store has defective lightbulbs "and" they would not refund my money back on my cc card even after explaining to them I originally purchased online. read more

I was very disappointed with the service at this store. I went in to get keys made, there was a girl making a key for a gentleman and I was in line behind him. After she finished with his keys, she walked away with me standing in line and went to talk to the 4 other employees standing near the cash register. I waited a minute to see if she was going to walk back over, but instead she left. So, I walked over to the other employees standing there and asked if she was coming back and they said that's not her department. Her department or not, she could have acknowledged I was there and gotten someone else to help me. I stood there longer while the other employee called for someone, but no one came. I understand if it's your break or you were just helping out...but at least say something to me. I'll go to Ace Hardware from now on. read more

I returned a couple pallets that I bought from here, the clerk then manager refused to refund. I explained to them that when I bought from the pro desk, and they said I can return them anytime when I am done using them (sounded like they do it all the time). I didn't have a receipt and they we not willing to do a card swipe to search for my purchase like they used to do. So today i had to go to Home Depot to get some items that i needed to do some repairs. When i walked in i was welcomed by one of the store employees and they gave me the sales booklet, also was offered a shopping cart which I did not need but it was nice of them to offer one to me. Very easy to find where i needed to go so i went to plumbing and i was looking for my item. Unfortunately i was unable to find the item there so there was two employees that were there and i asked them for assistance and one employee took me to the paint department and showed me the item i needed. After i got the item i went to back to hardware to get some screws another employee was there and asked me if i needed assistance and i informed him i needed 5/16 screw that was 7in or longer. I was informed that they don't have that long of a screw but its possible to make it. He showed me what i needed and we put something together and it was perfect. On my way out i figured i use the self checkout because i didn't want to wait a a small line. Even though there was not many people. When i wen to check out i noticed that the self check out helper was actually doing her job and not just standing there. She was very helpful to the customer next to me. She help her work the system and then asked me if i needed any help. So i had a good experience this time in Home depot lets keep it up because i will be coming here more often. read more

The store itself is very clean, and the employees here go above and beyond to help me every time I come in. Nathanial is amazing at cutting wood and helping me find the products that I need. Gabriel is a very knowledgeable employee in wood working and is very patient. He looked through countless pieces of wood for me and didn't complain once. His energy is very kind and I didn't feel rushed by him. Nathaniel and Gabriel are my go to guys when I come to this location. It's nice to learn about different tools and supplies on my wood working journey, and have encouragement from employees who have great customer service skills and inspire me along the way. I just visited here yesterday. They have everything for your home improvement needs. My parents walked out of store as happy customers they were able to find everything they needed from weed killer to top soil and perennials. They also have a nice little food booth in your way out the door and when I requested nachos they told me they only have pizza so I was the one that walked out as a unsatisfied customer. read more

After two phone calls to verify they had something in stock, two separate employees said yes, we have lots of those in stock, I drove 45 minutes only to find out not only what I was looking for was NOT there, but was told they don't even carry that particular brand/manufacturer anymore. I came this Home Depot to get materials to build a wall. I ordered French doors to be delivered to my home. They asked "do you want them to go through the front or back?" I said the back. Today the doors were delivered and these LAZY ASS MFS wanted to leave my (indoor) French doors outside leaning against the garage. I had to pull their teeth just for them to bring it in the yard.
