Bought a Milwaukee hammer drill from Home Depot in Timonium, MD in May 2025 because of Milwaukee's reputation and 5-year warranty. After only two projects, the drill completely stopped working. I went to the Timonium store for help with the warranty process, but neither the clerk nor Store Manager John seemed interested in assisting. I've spent thousands on Milwaukee tools over the years, and this experience was extremely disappointing. Premium tools should last longer than a year and two projects, and customers deserve better support when a product fails. John the store manager couldn't take the time to give me any solutions. Poor customer service. Tried to order a toilet with installation 3x for today. Can't do it on line. They done do it correctly over the phone. Now a toilet is being delivered and can't be installed today. They refuse to bring it into the house. Now it is going to sit outside in heat and rain til it gets installed. Customer gets tossed around by many customer service people, delivery service people and corporate office people, which is just another joke depot number. They won't give me a discount for poor customer service or a free toilet that is not being installed today. They are leaving it outside. read more

So I stopped in to look for some plants for my new office. I came here after visiting another HD on Joppa and could not call this location last night. I knew exactly what I wanted and just needed help to find the one I wanted. I took a picture of the 1 plant I knew that I saw and wanted, but I wanted to find the main plant that the other HD didn't have. I asked one male associate to help me, and turned out to be somewhat unhelpful and so another male intervened. But neither were helpful in helping me find the lemon balm plant. Another associate, came and was very helpful and sweet. Ms. Kelby helped me try to find the lemon plant even helped me find a substitute, but we were unsuccessful. However, she never gave up, and offered me a great offer which eased my anxiety and day. She deserves every ounce of gratitude. Thank you so much for great customer service! read more

ISO a wooden screen door, mouse traps, and window film. Home Depot was the first stop. It carried only two doors in the size we sought...and both had tears in the screens. Purchased the traps and film and headed towards Lowes. It had two dozen or so of the same door we wanted...almost all, however, had cosmetic defects, but everyone had perfect screens. Took the best of the Lowes doors and picked up all the hardware to hang the door and left. Mission Accomplished! The Lowes door was about a dollar more expensive, but the hardware kit was considerably less expensive. Both stores observed COVID19 protocols...masks and distancing. (I have placed this same review with both stores, but with a slightly higher Lowes rating, based upon different criteria having been met. ) read more

Ordered on line 11 Oct, turns out delivery came from Timonium Home Depot . They delivered the wrong gutters I ordered 6 inch loser warehouse employee loaded 5 inch. I had to reorder the same 6 inch gutters while Home Depot picked up the incorrect ones on 14 oct. They owed me $280 which never showed up on my CC. They said since part of the order was on a Home Depot gift card I had to go to any store and get the refund. Turns out my local Aberdeen store couldn't do it, always a technical glitch. Calls to Home Depot were empty promises that they would credit my account. Today I made calls to Home Depot corporate they said I had to go to Timonium and manager will give me my refund. 3 hour round trip, so apologies don't cut it. read more

Home Depot fulfillment center admitted their policy was not to hold material sell it even if they dont know when more is coming. They sold my trex! They fckrd me! I had to reorder, wait and hope it comes in on Friday, no guarantees. My builder is so pissed Im lucky he didn't tell me to get somebody else. When they call me back, I am going to make it clear to them as as im concerned, they stole the goods I legally purchased thus a new owner as far as Im concerned. I bought , paid for so transaction of ownership was transferable as far as Im concerned. If you buy a car, not picking it up right away, you still legally own it. They sell it to someone else, sounds illegal to me. If they do not disclose this to me ahead of time, they should be held accountable. read more

I could not get anyone to help me, every sales person in the Bath section ignored me or sent me to someone else, that could not or would not help me. Finally in disgust, I left the store. I've been shopping at this Home Depot since the mid 1990s when I moved to the area. This past year I've been working on a long project which means I'm in the store at least twice a week, sometimes every day. I've had the chance to really see this store in operation. For the most part, the staff here is good. They're pretty knowledgable and helpful. Elliott in electric is always very friendly and helpful for whatever I need, going out of his way no matter where in the store I might need something. Then there's the guy in plumbing, tall, with reddish blonde hair and a beard - again, always helpful in guiding me to what I'm looking for. Chris, the parking lot attendant, has been there for years and is enjoyable to talk with - for a few minutes! And most of the crew working returns are easy to deal with. On the cashier side, Bethany is great, and so too is the African-American woman who's been working the Pro side lately. She's always friendly and welcoming. But their outstanding cashier is definitely Christina. Always friendly, always welcoming, usually open to a short chat if there's time. Exemplary customer service. I always enjoy it when she's working. Like I said, I've been going here a long time. I've seen it's ups and downs. I've had all kinds of interactions with the staff. A dispute years ago (we're talking probably 15 years now) still lingers with this one guy working hardware. Him and I just don't speak. I guess he's a good worker but I don't get along with him. They seem to have gotten rid of a lot of the bad eggs from years past but there's one cashier that is just not very friendly and a bit rude to customers (I've seen her in action as well as experienced it myself). Don't remember her name but I think it begins with a "D" and, evidently, she's supposedly one the supervisors. Not much of an example to the rest of the staff... But I continue to go because the good outweighs the bad and since it's my "home" Home Depot, it's my spot. read more

Their folks in lumber were great about my request to cut 10 4X6X12s into 4 foot sections. They had them ready for pick up when I arrived and even helped me load them. My dad and I have been working on my backyard for a while this summer. I have purchased mulch, plants, fencing, and a shelf at this place and I find it very consistent (I also purchased a lot of items when I got my house about a year ago). During COVId-19 times they enforce the use of masks and it feels clean and organized specially the gardening section which it outside. The curbside pick up service has been excellent; it is organized and timely. There are parking spots for customers getting pick up orders. My only issue is that they don't do curbside pick up for all items (this may be a company-wide thing rather than a specific location thing). What needs improvement: being able to find someone to help you find something can be really difficult, staff doesn't always seem approachable when I need help. This is an overall image but as always you have the good, approachable helpful staff and then the ones that aren't so helpful; service is just not consistent. Also the supplies here have been running low; I had been wanting tomato cages for a while and went 3 times and they were always out of the tomato cages; same thing happened with sod (went to the competition to get these). I'm summary I have had overall pleasant experiences here, but customer service can improve a bit and they need to maintain their items in the warehouse. read more

I must say that I found the personnel at the Timonium Home Depot to be among the best I have ever come across. I've had more than a few excellent interactions at this particular store, and the latest one is chronicled here... On Sunday, September 18, 2022 I purchased a large Suncast BMS4700X backyard shed. John, the store manager (I didn't know that at the time) personally helped me to locate the huge boxes in the garden center, and personally picked out the box in the best condition of all available ones. He then personally handed me over to Lisa and Marc at the customer service desk who not only processed the transaction for me but Lisa herself called over to the van / tool rental area to make certain to hold a van for me. Frank, another real gentleman at the tool and vehicle rental area knew I was coming and had promptly prepared the paperwork. Finally, Mark single handedly but with kid gloves, lugged this enormous box out to the cargo van, placed it inside, and was meticulous about making sure the box would not shift in transport, and that I had sufficient help at home to safely unload. Home Depot corporate should take these five individuals and model their customer service and other attributes for teaching throughout the chain. They were exceptional. Be careful when having your appliances installed through Home Depot. In January I had all of my appliances replaced and installed by Hone Dept. In April my entire kitchen and finished basements was flooded. Apparently the leak started off small and has most likely been leaking since install. To make things worse, I paid for the waterline upgrade and the installers refused to use that waterline. I found the unpacked upgraded waterline on top of my refrigerator. I had a perfect Christmas experience at Home Depot today. I stopped at the Cockeysville Home Depot to see if the Christmas trees were in. My space is small and to my delight they had 6 foot Christmas trees. Even more exciting, Balsam Fir Brand Christmas trees. There were two employees working outside that was kind enough to help me decide which tree to take home. He cut the bottom and pushed it through the machine to put netting around it. The second employee was nice enough to carry it over to the register. To my surprise if you signed up for a credit card today you received $25 off your first purchase. He then carried the tree out to my car and helped me tie it down. The tree aroma smells absolutely wonderful in my space. Christmas is here. Well done Home Depot. I come here a lot in order to try to make my home better without shelling out the big bucks to a contractor. Most of the time if I find something listed online or in their iPhone app as available in store, I have no trouble finding it. I've also brought in returns with very few hassles. One thing that bothers me is that there are only shopping carts and no handheld shopping baskets. Yeah, they have those paint buckets but it's not as easy to carry as a basket. Plus, if I'm just buying a handful of items, it's much easier to manage them in a basket. The only reason this places gets four stars is due to the obnoxious home improvement sales people that are wandering around the store. No, I don't want to upgrade my kitchen. No, I can't think about going solar, I live in a condo. Please stop prowling around the store looking for your next mark and let me shop in peace! read more

THE GOOD... -big parking lot -store appears clean -several self-checkout lanes THE BAD... -I can never find anyone to help with specific questions -If there is someone available in a specific section it's one person and they've got nobody else to assist -It could be dead later at night in paint section and employees working that section never offer to see if you need any help Overall, this Home Depot gets a 2 star for the very poor customer service. Normally, I don't (or try not to) write reviews for larger "chain-store" type places. However, I absolutely have to comment on the helpful, obliging employees of the cutting center in the lumber department of this particular Home Depot. We needed six slabs of plywood cut to a particular length and width for a platform bed. The job was tedious, difficult and took a long time; the two employees that helped us out never complained once, even though it was HOT as hell in there and the boards were VERY heavy. They even offered us a small discount on one of the plywood sheets because it had writing on it - something that won't ever be seen by anyone, as it's now laying under our bed. That was VERY generous, seeing that they didn't even have to do that. I wish that I could have remembered their names, but alas, it's escaped me. Seems that they're ALL friendly and willing to go the distance, though, so that means a lot! They did have a good range of products and seemed to have lots of items in stock. If we're in this area again, we'll definitely come by here and check it out. read more

I can find my way around a home improvement store and this has got to be my favorite Home Depot store in the area. When I'm looking to repair or beautify something in or around my house, this is my choice for the basics. It is clean, well laid out and carries what I am looking for and more. This stores seems to carry a wider range of products than some of the other stores in the area. The nursery carries a nice range of plants even in the late summer/early fall, they still have a good and healthy selection. They carry annuals appropriate for the season, perennials, shrubs and trees. You can tell someone here appreciates and cares for the plants since everything looks healthy. The bonus is that I can usually bump into a sales associate and they are quite helpful. read more

Check the paperwork! We ordered a black front dishwasher that doesn't COME in black. Salesman never mentioned that and sent stainless. Installation was delayed past the 48 hour return window and we were told we'd have to pay restocking fee amount of $100+. Several heated calls later, the manager agreed to waive the fee, but by this time I am not up to going back and starting to shop all over again and wait weeks for delivery and installation. So we're going to have a mismatched kitchen and will never shop Home Depot again. It's been a nightmare. read more

I can't say enough good things about this particular Home Depot. It seems to be the Home Depot hub of the area. I have never had a single problem with any employee in any section of the store. The customer service person, Cindy, I just worked with for 45 minutes, with patient, smart, and extremely helpful. She and the other women behind the customer service desk not only helped me, but helped entertain my 2 year old daughter! All of this while trying to track down an online Home Depot order number in the system. And then have to wait half an hour while on the phone with Home Depot online. They are fantastic! read more

I can only comment on the rental area from here as that was my only experience. We rented a Penske rental truck from here and it was an overall good experience. We reserved the truck ahead by a few days, and then we picked it up at the time we wanted. The pickup was easy with just a license needed, and we got our deposit money back afterwards. Simple transaction, even the new employee didn't have difficulty getting me set up and received. Also the bathrooms are top notch. If you need to take a poo, search no further as your tush will be in delight. The air dryer could be more powerful though. read more

I have never asked for the employees help, I don't mind figuring it out on my own. I have to agree with Jeff K. about this home depot. If you do not have an exact idea of what you need, you are better off going elsewhere. Several times I went with questions about this brand vs brand, this size/power vs that size/power and left with the same questions unanswered. If you have been looking for a hardware item but were waiting for a sale and this home depot has it, then by all means go there and buy it. Just don't expect to find people to help you or get customer service that will satisfy you. We have spent a long time waiting in a department for someone to help us and just wound up buying the hardware item elsewhere because they answered our questions. read more

My husband and I were at Home Depot to return a ceiling light that we had ordered online. Actually it was the third light that we had ordered online and when we opened the box the plastic cover was broken. When we were at the service desk we decided to see what the store had in stock. Greeter Dave took us back to the lighting department and showed us various fixtures. We took his advice and purchased the light he recommended. He is a great asset to the store. I bought a dish washer from Home Depot back in February 2018 from online. The company sent the installers to install my machine. Then in May 2018 we had a flood in my home which caused significant damage. At first we thought it came from our sink so we called our plumber who came and found that it was actually caused by a part from the dishwasher and through the installation. Of course I have been getting the run around through both the Installation Company and with Home Depot. We even had them all call the plumber who stated that it was their fault. It took me so long to write this because Home Depot refuses to do anything about the problem that their dishwasher caused in my home. All I can say is be careful with them. They are nice and helpful when buying but they refuse to accept responsibility when they cause damage to your home as they did with mine. read more

I've been to this particular location several times over the past year, and every instance has been bizarre. My last purchase here was a work table, and as I was coming out of the store, an employee came running up to me from the darkness of the parking lot and asked me if I was, "the one who needed help". I very politely told her that I wasn't, and I thought that was that. When I got to my car, I noticed she'd followed me, and I said again in a pleasant but sarcastic way, "I promise I don't need any help," and smiled. She said something like, "That's OK. This is my job", and continued to stand there. Long story short, I spent the next 3-5 minutes making room in my car to load the work table, and the ENTIRE time this employee just stood there watching me... in the dark. At one point I realized that maybe she wanted my cart, so I actually stopped what I was doing in my car and asked her if she was waiting for the cart, but she said no. It was so awkward and uncomfortable. She was seemingly friendly and maybe she was genuinely trying to be helpful, but when a customer says they don't need assistance, YOU GIVE THEM THEIR SPACE, especially post-purchase. This particular location also seems pretty blatantly aggressive when it comes to "protecting" their tool section. Employees will either follow you in and awkwardly pretend to look at random items within your proximity, or they'll literally camp out at the entrance of the isle and just watch you. Or they'll follow you in and ask you if you need help, and if you say no, they'll stick around anyway and again awkwardly pretend to be fascinated with some random drill bit or power tool battery. Look, I'm sure Home Depot loses a ton to theft like every other store, and they every right to protect their goods, but for the love of God, is it too much to ask that they don't make honest, legitimate customers feel like a f***ing criminal? (For the record, as a teenager or adult, I've never taken anything that didn't belong to me.) Why doesn't this location just invest in a better security monitoring system if they're so worried about theft? Or maybe they should just train their employees to use some tact or subterfuge so they don't irritate a customer who just wants to buy a damn right angle drill? I literally can't think of any other particular establishment, INCLUDING OTHER HOME DEPOTS, that I've been to in my life where employees were like this. I also worked in retail for a while, and this kind of behavior would've never flown at anyplace I worked at. Regular employees don't have the experience nor training to determine who's trying to steal and who's not. Since the "I'm just gonna stand here in the dark and watch you" episode, I avoid this particular Home Depot like exercise. Instead, despite them being out of my way, I go either to Lowe's or the Home Depot on Joppa Road in Parkville where the employees are professional and don't aspire to be Paul Blart, Mall Cop. I like Home Depot, but this Cockeysville location really needs to get their act together. read more

I have never experienced such incompetent customer service, both in person and over the phone, as I have at this Home Depot location. Unfortunately, I ordered over $16,000 in windows/doors from it, so I am stuck dealing with its staff for the time being. I should have known from my initial interactions with the customer service representatives that the experience would be horrible - but I failed to trust my instincts. A few thoughts: (1) Employees at the store rarely answer the telephone, and when I have attempted to contact a particular department (in this case, millwork/windows/doors), I am frequently left on hold indefinitely and forced to hang up. In fact, this morning I was forced to call the corporate office (who in turn contacted the store) to find out the status of my order. (2) There is little follow-up. I ordered windows and doors almost 6 weeks ago (the lead time was 4-6 weeks). After my partner and I contacted Home Depot several times, we were assured that we would receive a call when our windows were being delivered so we could arrange for appropriate delivery. We never received a call, so I called this morning (to the store, and then to corporate when I couldn't get through) only to find that the order had been completed days ago. As a result, construction has been delayed and we are forced to deal with more inclement weather without windows/doors. (3) The ordering process was painful - so painful, that I attempted to switch orders to another store, but was prevented from doing so by the employees who could not keep track of the then current work order (and transfer it). Every time I visited the store, I was unsure of which service representative I would be "welcomed" by. On several occasions, we dealt with new representatives who were not familiar with our order. I will be shocked if the order is complete and/or correct, and despite the fact that we have a lot more to buy for the house, I can assure management that I will not be doing it at this location (and probably not Home Depot at all). read more

I bought a Refrigerator from Home Depot - the delivery guys left it in my hall wall unassembled, when I put the handles on the doors I was missing 2 bolts. After 6 calls and much frustration I still can't get the two bolts sent to me. They want me to take a day off work and sit around for a repair man to bring out 2 bolts. I am very unhappy. Samsung would not help since this is a delivery issue according to them and Home Depot only sends warranty tech to the house - with a 4 hour window, and they will be late. read more

I had occasion to purchase a few basic household items and went to the Cockeysville Home Depot, which is closest to my home. From the customer service rep in the front of the store to everyone else who assisted me (in the departments, cashiers, outside service staff member), everyone was extremely helpful and even quite friendly (especially surprising for that early in the morning!). The service was so good that I went online and completed a survey -- the employees I met definitely deserved the praise.
